The Call Of God

When God stirs your nest, that’s His call for you to become involved with what He is about to do. When that call comes, people respond in different ways. 

Some, like Isaiah, respond eagerly. 

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Jonah tried to run from the call Jonah 1:1-17.  

Moses sees the vision, but tries to take matters in his own hands. When that fails he is brought to the place where he has to wait on God. At the age of 80, he reluctantly surrenders to the call at the burning bush, Ex. 3:4,5.

God knows how to get your attention. When He stirs up your nest and places a burden on your heart, don’t hesitate. Go with Him to whatever He calls you to do. Pray. Pray. Pray. 

God has a great plan, and nothing is greater than being allowed to be a part of that plan. Seek His will.

A Race Well Run

Through all the battles the Apostle Paul fought, all the lonely valleys he traveled; he never fell out of love with Jesus. 

Paul says “I have kept the faith”, meaning he “guarded it” like it was a precious treasure, which it is. He kept it in its pure form and passed it down to others who would do the same

2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

The Lord is watching your race. He sees your spiritual battles, especially if you are seeking to serve Him. 

If we can ever learn to stand in the power of God, we will be able to come to the end of life and say with confidence, “I have fought a good fight!”

Just run the race, because pay day is not down here, it’s over there. The Lord will reward you for a race well run, and Paul called Him a righeous judge.

God’s Love And Our Prayers

Psalm 116:1-2 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

For a redeemed sinner to be able to say, "I love the Lord," is a blessing. 

Man may not return our love, but God loved us first; 1 John 4:19, and He loves us forever, Jer. 31:3; Rom. 8:35-39. What a precious thing to love God.

Psalm 116:5-6 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

For our prayers to be heard and answered — the sinner's prayer and every prayer there after — is a blessing;  Jer. 33:3, Psa. 40:1. 

Every person goes through times of depression, sickness, and distress, Job 5:6,7, and God specializes in lifting the fallen and strengthening the weak.

Hope In God’s Word

Genuine hope takes the Word of God at face value: Psa. 119:89. 

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

We can believe the Bible. 

Our hope will be finally realized when we see Jesus.  

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

While we roam this world, things won’t always go like we think they will. 

But, those who have anchored their hope in the Word of God, know that the rough seas of this life are under His control. 

Jesus can still say "Peace be still!".  He can still walk on your waves.
