The Battle is God's

We don’t have exact numbers, but we know three different nations had risen up to overthrow Judah.

King Jehoshaphat didn’t call his advisors or a meeting of the cabinet, He called on the Lord. After his prayer, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel in the congregation and he prayed.

2 Chronicles 20:15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

If we will be honest and admit it, we can do nothing apart from the grace and help of the Lord.

The battle is too great, the storm too strong, the valley too deep.

But through Christ we are more than conquerors. When we realize we can’t overcome, that is when God will.
 
The battle is not yours, but God’s. Trust Him.

True Love

The greatest of all things a believer can possess is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13  And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

If our love (charity) is right, faith is no problem. If our love is right, our hope is in the right place. If our love is right, we are right.

Love is the defining characteristic of Who God is--- . . . "God is love” (1 John 4:8).

God doesn’t have faith. Who would He place faith in?

God doesn’t have hope. What would the One Who controls everything have to hope for? Yet, God is love. We are never more God-like than when we learn to love like God.

Someone has said: "What is love?"

“It is silence when your words would hurt---It is patience when your neighbor's curt---It is deafness when a scandal flows---It is thoughtfulness for other's woes---It is promptness when stern duty calls---It is courage when misfortune falls."

Jesus, Calvary And Salvation

Jesus wasn’t led to His excruciating death because of Roman authority, the betrayal of Judas, the hatred of the Sanhedrin or the condemnation of Pilate.

Luke 23:33  And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Jesus was there to fulfill the sovereign plan of God to redeem humanity from their sin. Our sin required a perfect sacrifice, and Jesus alone was worthy to be that sacrifice.

All who come to God, must come through Christ. There’s no other way.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 

Calvary is not an issue to be neutral about. You have either received salvation in Christ by grace through faith or you remain in your sin (Eph. 2:8-9).

Choosing to wait or an attitude of indecision is an act of denial. Salvation is available, but you have only one option---through Christ alone. Seek Him.

The Word In The Heart

We need those today whose hearts are filled with the Word, that precious Word that brings conviction to our hearts and change to our lives.

Vacation Bible School taught me to hide God’s Word in my heart.

Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

We aren’t perfect and we don’t live above sin, but God’s Word will lead us by the Holy Spirit to follow the righteous path as we often humbly read it.

When our passion and focus is the Word of God, we won’t want to please the flesh (willfully sin).

I want to be drawn closer to God. I want to spend more time in His precious Word, allow it to mold and transform my life. I want to hide it in my heart.
