Let’s Just Praise The Lord

Psalm 33:1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

There are many emotions that can grip our hearts, like pride, hate, malice, anger, envy, an unforgiving spirit, and a host of others. 

No emotion is as elegant, as beneficial, or as beautiful as a heart that is filled with praise for the Lord. We should praise the Lord because:

— His Word is precious, filled with power, glory and hope to those who read it, honor it, and live by it.

— He is a Sovereign God and His will is going to be accomplished in earth and Heaven.

— He watches over all things, especially the needs of His people.

— As our trust in Him grows, our ability to rest in Him grows, and we can rejoice in spite of everything that is going on around us.

— For all He has done and will do in our lives.

— For His unmatchable, amazing, tender love.

“Just the precious name of Jesus — is worthy of our praise,  —. Let us bow our knees before Him, —. our hands to heaven raise;  —  When He comes in clouds of glory,  —  with Him to ever reign,  —  Let's just lift our happy voices, and praise His name.”

Trust In The Lord

Believers can find peace in the most trying times.

Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 

[4] Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 

[5] Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

These verses comforted me during some serious health issues in my life. 

I learned to walk by faith and not by sight.Things are never as they appear to our human vision. 

When things look bad, know that God is still working out His eternal purposes in your life., Rom. 8:28. 

At my lowest point in the hospital some twenty years ago, the Lord gave me a hug and a song.

Getting Your Needs Met

— There Must Be Faith In The Will Of God. Trust that God knows what is best for your life and be willing to submit to His will even when you don't understand it. 

— There Must Be Faith In The Ways Of God - If you try to figure out what God is doing you will go crazy. Have faith. Learn to trust His ways, Isa. 55:8-9.

—. There Must Be Faith In The Work Of God  If you have submitted your life to the Lord, you are His responsibility. Too often we forget to Whom we belong, 

1 Cor. 6:20; Matt. 6:25-33.

— There Must Be Faith In The Word Of God - When you have God's word on an issue, that issue is settled forever.

Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

—. There Must Be Faith In The Wonder Of God - When we get beyond "God could and God might", and become confident that "God can and God will" — then we will see business pick up in that area of seeing our need met.

Ephesians 3:20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Persistent Prayer

Believers can learn from the parable of the persistent widow woman and the unwilling  judge .

Luke 18:3-5 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 

[4] And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 

[5] Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

Because of her social and financial standing, she had no other hope but to  make a nuisance of herself.

This widow represents us. 

The lesson here is this: We may not get the answer we want immediately, but keep asking, keep believing, and keep praying ‘till light breaks through. 

Persistence in prayer pays off in God’s time.
