HOW MUCH OF GOD DO YOU WANT?
With sarcasm, Wilbur Reese writes: " I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please. Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don't want enough of Him to make me love a black man or pick beets with a migrant. I want ecstasy, not transformation. I want the warmth of the womb, not a new birth. I want about a pound of the eternal in a paper sack. . ."
Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
How much of God do you want -- enough to follow in Christ's steps?
OR ENOUGH TO:
Stop using your money, resources and time selfishly and start using them to help others and to build the Kingdom of God?
Develop a hunger for the Word and let all other priorities fall behind you?
Become passionate about prayer?
Give yourself as a humble servant to others?
Learn to forgive those who hurt you, forgo bitterness, give up resentment, and if possible, make peace with your enemies?
Develop the passionate love of Christ for the most unlovely?
