I quit watching a few reality shows because they seemed too scripted. Lest I mention someone's favorite show, I'll only tell about the ones I like. Most of them are on the History Channel

I like watching the Picker guys climb over junk and finding things I grew up with. I also like their personalities.

I find the Pawn Shop show interesting, watching them wheel and deal and seeing what people bring in. Their personalities also perk my interest.

Swamp People excites me when they are catching an allegaitor. It's hard to fake the catch. If I were there, that allegaiter would pull me in the water and eat me, I just know it.

House Hunters on HGTV may not be considered a reality show, but I enjoy watching people spend triple the sum of our house payment on a home I wouldn't want to live in -- and I'm not picky. Those houses are in large cities.

The new year prompted me to make a change.  Changing the looks of my web page is easier than moving furniture or so I thought. I dove into templates in web management. Decisions -- decisions. I clicked on every option in every templet twice. I don't want to think about how many internet cookies are crumbling  inside my computer. I'm glad I have an IPad 2. Nothing slows it down.

The artsy ones grabbed me, but dark backgrounds hurt my eyes. If I can't read my blog, others can't. One really drew me in, but looking closer, I saw it was a little too erotic for a right-wing born again Christian. I finally settled for the only patriotic one and that's why you see stars and stripes. This was harder than picking paint colors.

I'll probably change it again.  And again. I'll knew when it's right for me.

TODAY’S SERMON
Today is a new year – a new start. How are we going to spend our time in 2012 compared to last year? God’s word is the best place to go for new beginnings. Genesis 4 is the beginning of woman.

In Genesis 3 we find the first mention of Satan. We learn that he is subtle, crafty, sneaky, and the chief liar. Like a lion, he is seeking the earth for people to devour. Satan offers the pleasures of sin for a season. Sin is like a cancer. It destroys the body, the soul, and affects your loved ones. The wages of sin is death.

When Adam and Eve took the bite from the forbidden fruit, it plunged them and everybody born after them into sin. How can we enter into the presence of a holy God if we have sin? Only by accepting His Son, Jesus Christ, the sacrificial lamb on the cross, dying for the sins of all people.

For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
What a great way to start the new year.
