The Wonder Of The Creator

Do you ever consider the wonder of Creation? I’m amazed at the vastness of the universe, the beauty of the earth, the wonder of the human body, and life itself -- created and sustained by the power of Almighty God of Heaven. David wrote about it.

Psalm 8:3-4  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

God doesn’t have to be mindful of us but I’m glad He is. The Creator is the believer’s Lord and Savior and God and King. That’s intimate. That’s personal. That’s awesome.

To feel the presence of God in our lives and the gracious privilege of His fellowship is a superb blessing..

I wish everyone knew the Creator personally.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Seek Him. Repent. Believe.

Answered Prayer Story

The right kind of prayer is always about aligning our will with God’s will. The right kind of faith is believing and accepting the unknown answer to our prayers. I love answered prayer stories.

In the fall of 2003, after retirement, I asked the Lord to move us from Arkansas to Texas so we could grow old close to one of our children. Then I began cleaning out a closet to prepare for the move.

Within a week the Lord sold our house --  not even on the market --  and supplied moving boxes. It was as if Jesus was nudging us on. Everything came together, even buying a house in Texas.

We had one problem – Spencer the Shar-Pei we inherited from our daughter when she left home. Spencer was old and dying. We could take our bull dog (a house dog), but not Spencer.

I prayed with guilt that the Lord would let him die before we moved. The next morning I went to his fenced area and found him dead on the ground. I mourned some then looked up and said, “Thank you, Lord.”

I still get teased about this in Texas and one lady even asked me to pray about a stray cat in her yard. That's OK. I love to tell how God answers prayers.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

The Kingdom And Righteousness Of God

The Lord Jesus doesn’t want to be second in command of believers, He wants to be King on the throne of our hearts.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you, Matt. 6:33."

The kingdom of God ought to be our obsession because King Jesus rules there.

We are also to seek His righteousness. It will be a great day when we learn the difference between self righteousness and the Savior's righteousness.

Before we can live the righteousness of Christ, God must give it. That’s why Jesus came and died for sinners, so that all who believe on Him will have the righteousness of God.

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (II Cor. 5:21).

“ . . . . and all these things shall be added unto you.”  What things? All the needs we worry about.

Jesus Prays

If Jesus felt the need to pray to the Father when He was God in the flesh, how much more do we need to pray?

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

The Bible has a lot to say about prayer. Read all the following scriptures if you are serious about your prayer life.

We are commanded to pray – 1 Thes. 5:17; Luke 18:1; Rom. 12:12; Eph. 6:18; Col. 4:2.
We are instructed how to pray and how not to pray – Luke 11:1-4, Matt. 6:5-
We are given promises in prayer – Jer. 33:3; Isa. 65:24; Matt. 7:7-11; Phil. 4:6-7.

Prayer is essential for a holy, empowered spiritual life. --  a life that God can bless and use for His glory.

Jesus Is Right For Whatever's Wrong In Your Life

People from all around Galilee were bringing the sick to Jesus. There were those possessed with devils and sick of the palsy -- hopeless in themselves.

There were those who were tormented, hitting rock bottom, even lunatics who had lost their minds. Jesus healed them and brought peace to their troubled lives.

Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Those on the bottom found a reason to live another day. Those whose minds were devastated by sin and the cares of life found inner peace.

You may need salvation. -- healing from sin. Seek Jesus.

You may need encouragement  -- healing from a broken heart or depression. Seek Jesus.

You may need to find forgiveness and joy -- healing from a bitter spirit. Seek Jesus.

Jesus is right for whatever’s wrong in your life.

Stress And The Wisdom Of God

Many years ago my Oncologist congratulated me on being a cancer survivor and then gave me this advice: “Don’t get stressed.” Stress can affect your health.

Do you ever get stressed? I do sometimes and usually make matters worse because I don’t have the right solution.

Stress is often brought on by problems that seem to have no solution. We need to seek spiritual discernment in the decisions we make.

We need God’s wisdom in our lives. We need to trust the Lord with our stress.

Prov.3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Are you dealing with a stressful situation? Have you sought the Lord’s wisdom?

Thank God For The Bible

The only way the character of God can be known by us, at least now, is reading His Word. The Scriptures reveal Him to be holy, loving, just, eternal, glorious, exalted, gracious, merciful and infinitely good.  They also teach us that - - - -
He is Lord
He is Sovereign
He is a consuming fire
He is a God of wrath

Thank God for the Bible. He has blessed us beyond our comprehension. He has given us an inspired, infallible, inerrant record of Himself, His will, and His ways.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

May we love this blessed book, read it, and carry it in our hearts with assurance that it is the Book of Truth and Redemption.

May it develop us, feed us, lead us and teach us all the way home to Heaven.
