Count Your Blessings

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

If you are saved and you need a reason to praise the Lord this Thanksgiving, look no farther than the Lord Jesus Christ.

Your life might be in turmoil, but consider who you are and all you have in Jesus. You will soon find that you possess many reasons for giving thanks.

“When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed, — When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, — Count your many blessings name them one by one, — And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

“Count your blessings, name them one by one; — Count your blessings, see what God hath done; — Count your blessings, name them one by one, — And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.”

We Are So Blessed

Psalm 103:2-3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: . . . . [3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

This would be a great time for God’s people to stir up the inner man and call on our soul to “bless the Lord”, not just in November, but every day of the year.

It would be a great time to take a spiritual inventory and thank God for everything He has done for us in Jesus.

When we forget what we have in Jesus and who we are in Jesus, there is the danger that we might wander away from Him.

Praise keeps us tender, clean and close.

I want to praise the Lord for sending a nice Christian lady to sit in the recliner beside me at my second chemotherapy. Rejoicing, we exchanged the Lords blessings on our cancer experience. Oh, what a blessing.

I want to thank the Lord that I qualified for a special medicine that attacks my kind of cancer cells. I was told that only 2% qualify.

“We are so blessed by the gifts from your hand — I just can't understand why you've loved us so much. — We are so blessed we just can't find a way — Or the words that can say, — "Thank you Lord for your touch.

“When we're empty you fill us ‘til we overflow. — When we're hungry you feed us and cause us to know. — We are so blessed take what we have to bring — Take it all everything, Lord we love you so much

“We are so blessed by the things You have done — The victories we've won, and what You've brought us through. — We are so blessed take what we have to bring — Take it all everything. Lord, we bring it to you.”

God Is Good

Regardless of the realm of life —  finances, government, people, pain, problems, sickness, or even death — The Lord is good.

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

God knows His people. He knows your name. He knows where you are. He knows what you face; He knows all the details of your life.

He even has the hairs of your head numbered. He knows you intimately and completely.

There is nothing about you, your life or your situation that has escaped His attention.

I don’t know what you are experiencing today, but I want to leave you with a final thought: The Lord is good. Give Him your need.

Jesus Touched Me

After the Blind Man of John 9 was healed by Jesus, he was asked who touched him. He said it was a man named Jesus, verse11.

He was then commanded by the Pharisees to call Jesus a sinner, verse 24. The man's reply is classic.

John 9:25 He answered and said, “Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”

Jesus cares and heals us and offers us a place of rest where we can flee when burdens get heavy.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

The life touched by Jesus remembers Him forever.

“Shackled by a heavy burden — 'Neath a load of guilt and shame. — Then the hand of Jesus touched me, — And now I am no longer the same.

“He touched me, Oh He touched me, — And oh the joy that floods my soul!. — Something happened and now I know — He touched me and made me whole.”

More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:35,37 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? . . . . [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Regardless of how you feel, these are words of hope, peace and encouragement to those who feel discouraged, defeated and overwhelmed by life.

When do you pray more? When does the Bible mean the most? When are you more likely to seek the Lord? It’s when the heat is on.

That’s why the Lord sends trials our way.

So, we are “more than conquerors”, but we don’t have to do anything to ensure our victory.

Victory is ours because the Lord loves us and promises us that His love is the guarantee of our conquest of all the things that come against us.

If only we could learn to rejoice in who we are in Him.

Job Knows Our Redeemer

After his pity parties, Job looks beyond his misery to some things that will never change — some things believers can rejoice in.

Job 19:25-27  For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

I know Job’s Redeemer.  He knows me and still loves me. He is a life-changer. I know about His promise to return:  John 14:1-3; Rev. 22:20.

[26] And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

I know about the Resurrection - John 11:25-26. Christians never die they just go home. The body will return to dust - Gen. 3:19, but that doesn’t mean there will be any soul sleep.

This body is going to rise - 1 Cor. 15:12-23. This body will live, be changed and see God.

[27] Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

“Reins be consumed within me” literally means I am overwhelmed by the thought of seeing Jesus. I am too.

I sure find a lot of comfort, hope, and strength in the thoughts of Job.

How Great Thou Art

2 Samuel 7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
We should assume the place of a humble child before God’s presence and trust Him to do that which is best.

Our goal in life should not be to reach our dreams; but to see the perfect will of God carried out in our lives.

There is no greater honor than being used by the Lord to bring glory to His name, even if it isn’t the way we hoped it would happen.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

“O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder — Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made. — I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder — Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

“Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee. — How great Thou art, how great Thou art. — Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee. — How great Thou art, how great Thou art.”
