Patience doesn come easy.

...It’s the power to wait for what we hope for, but most of us want it right now. Patience means working at a job until it’s finished. Having patience may mean learning to love The Apostle Paul found that patience meant suffering for the cause of Christ.

Romans 5:3-4 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing the tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Why do we need patience? To run the Christian race, waiting upon the Lord to reveal His will.

How can we acquire patience? We must desire it and have faith we’ll receive it. I’ve often heard that you should think twice before asking for patience. You’ll find yourself out of your comfort zone, but it’s a virtue we should cultivate.

2 Peter 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

When a gospel song, a sermon or a testimony sweeps you out of the flesh,

...into the spirit, and to heavenly ranks, you've been super-blessed. Why, it's happened to me while reading the Bible or praying. I've even sqelched a few spiritual shouts during a sermon or seeing someone walk the aisle. The following songs are but a few that spilled tears of joy and humility.

The Longer I Serve Him, The Sweeter He Grows
There's Something About That Name
He Is Here
What a Lovely Name
Beulah Land
Love Lifted Me
Sheltered in the Arms of God
Amazing Grace
When He Was On The Cross, I Was On His Mind

On the other hand, there's been times I trod dry ground, thirsty for blessings. I prayed, "Lord, I don't feel very spiritual, and I'm not in a happy mood, but I know my feelings don't change who you are and what you've done. Praise your holy name." Praise does wonders for your mood.

Psalm 67:1  God be merciful unto us and bless us and cause your face to shine upon us.

God brought Adam and Eve together via rib transplant

...performing the perfect marriage.

Genesis 2:23-24  And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.

Life in the Garden of Edan glowed with bliss until they messed up. When Satan, the subtil snake, lured Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, she chose to sin. And so did Adam when she offered him a bite. The fall of man was passed down to all men and women.

Adam could've refused and chided Eve, but he loved her more than he loved God. When God confronted them, Adam blamed Eve and even God for giving her to him. Eve blamed the serpent. Excuses? Nobody crammed the fruit down their throats.

Judgement was harsh. Eve and every woman to come would suffer great pain during childbirth. Adam and every man to come would work the land all the days of their life. God kicked them out of the garden, and their marriage lost its glow and happiness.

Marriage was meant to be a trio: husband, wife, and God. When God is excluded it brings sorrow, hurt, and weakness.

Is God's Word Sufficient Today?

Many say the Bible is obsolete and out of touch with today's morals and ethical beliefs. Here's where I ask myself, "Do I believe Almighty God, the Creater of heaven and earth, or do I believe man?"

Matthew 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

God's Word is about man's sin, his lost condition, and His creative work. It's about the virgin birth and deity of Christ, His atoning blood, and salvation by grace through faith. It's about a literal heaven and hell.

God's Word is powerful in transforming lives, effective in inspiring men and women to service, helpful in aiding us to live for Jesus, and sufficient when we come to die.

Conscience, sincerity or the new morality will not substitute for true Christianity based on the Word of God.

Take courage in God's power

On Moses' 120 birthday he told the Israelites that he wouldn't be going with them to conqour the promised land. Taking the land by force scared them, but God gave them a young man named Joshua, who would lead them to victory.

Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and of a good courage; fear not, nor be afraid of them for the Lord they God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee nor forsake thee.

We should memorize this verse. When the storms of life frighten us, it will bring assurance. We can have confidence and courage because there's power in the redemptive blood of the Lamb of God. And when He says to take courage we can because we know He is with us.

Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The Lord will also give us courage to proclaim His Word, to defend the faith, and to overcome the world.
