Jesus Just Showed Up

After Jesus rose from the dead, He just showed up many times to many people

As we pass through life, there will be times when He just shows up and when He does, my how things change.

It's hard to explain, but He’s always been there, especially in the midst of my perils, Matt. 28:20; Heb. 13:5.

There were times in the Bible when He "just showed up".

— Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
—Daniel and the Lion's Den
—The Captain Of The Lord's Host outside Jericho
—Walking on the storm to go to the disciples
—At the tomb of Lazarus
—At the Red Sea
—There are many more

I know Jesus lives because He knows just where to find us when we have a need. He is in absolute control of our lives and knows everything that is about to happen.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Because He Lives

If death on the cross had been the end for Jesus, He would’ve been like all others who died before Him—still in the grave, and we would have no hope of resurrection or eternal life.

But Jesus rose victorious over death and the grave. Some Christian ladies found the empty tomb.

Three days after the burial the ladies went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus. Seeing the stone rolled away from the entrance, they thought His body had been stolen.  Looking inside, two angels met them.

Luke 24:5-6 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

It is His triumphant resurrection that the children of God have assurance of life beyond death throughout eternity with our Lord.

All believers can rejoice in the spiritual resurrection that comes through a relationship with Christ.

He is risen—risen indeed.

Rest From Your Burdens

The Lord hasn’t asked us to carry the burdens of life alone. He tells us to bring them to Him.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

All is anyone, anywhere who hears the invitation from the Son of God and comes to Him for salvation.

I’m glad that included me, because no one gives rest like Jesus.

Sometimes believers get spiritually tired—worn out. If that’s you, come to Jesus. He will restore your soul—give you rest and renew your joy.

Don’t Lose Heart

Live in the truth of who you are in Jesus Christ. You are a pilgrim and a stranger, a person passing through this world on your way home to glory.

You may become discouraged, but you don’t have to lose heart

God can and will help you make the journey with hope in your soul. Keep your eyes on Jesus and not on what you see.

2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

It’s easy to lose heart, to come to a place where you’re ready to throw in the towel.

Paul’s life was anything but easy. One time he asked the Lord for help with a physical problem.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Courage And Strength

All Gideon could see was a heart filled with fear and doubt, but God saw a mighty man of valour. This courage wasn’t within himself. It was given of the Lord.

Judges 6:12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we submit to God’s will for our lives.

God will never ask you to stand without first placing the courage and strength within your heart to do so.

We may not realize it’s there, but God does because He placed it there. Why not allow Him to take His tender hand and remove the doubt and reveal the strength He has placed in our hearts.

Jesus Has Done All Things Well

The touch of Jesus is powerful. He has the power to calm the sea, heal blind eyes with only a touch. He also heals lepers and the deaf and more.  Jesus has the power to transform a life of sin and reconcile us unto God.

Mark 7:37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

As I think about What Jesus has done in my life, I have to say that Jesus has done all things well.

He has blessed me abundantly and beyond measure and saved me by His grace.

He is always there to guide my steps. I have never been disappointed in my Lord.

We ought to worship Him today for all He has done and continues to do.

When Sorrow Meets Faith

The sorrows of life are hard to face, but when sorrow meets faith it looks away to a God Who is able to hear us, help us and hide us.

Psalm 61:2-3 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

I’m glad there’s a God in Heaven who loves us. We are “His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”

He died for us and He rose again to give us life, and we rest in His grace.

As part of His relationship with us, he has committed Himself to our care.

So, instead of trying to face the trials of life in your own power, resolve to run to the Lord—ask Him to shelter you from all that comes your way.
