When Saints Fly

According to end time prophecy, any day now a trumpet blast could sound with a shout from an archangel, and the saints of God—dead and alive--will ascend in a flash to meet King Jesus in the clouds. Rejoice!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Albert Brumley wrote about it when he penned the song  I’ll Fly Away. Imagine befuddled Fox News experts blaming missing bodies on aliens. How will they explain open graves? I’m sure the President will say, “We’re looking into this.”

Imagine worshipping  Jesus and God the Father with Old and New Testament Saints--martyrs of all the ages, preachers and church folks. Imagine freedom from death, pain, and sin. Imagine family reunions.

Jim Hill got it right when he wrote What A Day That Will Be.

When the Lord raptures (catches up) His church, will you go with them or will you be left behind to face the great tribulation? If not, believe in Jesus. Ask Him to come into your heart.

Dedicated, Sanctified Lives

Far too many Christians never grow in Christ. They see the need, they feel the tug, but they never get past dreaming about what they might do for The Lord. Still others live in  victories of yesterday, forgetting that the same God who blessed then can bless now.

Those who resolve to serve Jesus--go all out--live the Spirit-filed life by His grace will see Him do the unexplainable. When you dedicate (separate) your life to Jesus, be forewarned that obstacles will cross your path. Remember this:  If God has called you, He will clear your path and provide your need. Trust Him.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Dedicated, sanctified lives witness the remarkable by the power of God, for His glory time and again.

When you get to the place where all you want is God, you will find that God is all you need.

In His Service

If God can take his worst enemy, Saul, and make him His greatest messenger, the Apostle Paul, He can and will use any dedicated Christians for His glory--for his ministry. He has a place of service for you, and He will place you there if you ask Him.

Paul knew his calling was by the grace of God, and he loved telling churches about his unique calling.

1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

What an honor to work in God’s ministry. It’s all about the message of Salvation, born in the heart of God and devised long before man stood on the earth. The “Good News” message climaxes with Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the dead.

God went to great lengths to save the world. Why? Because He loves everybody, not wanting a single sinner to die without knowing Him. He will even use people like you and me for His cause. Our greatest joy is seeing a sinner saved as we work in His service.

The Throne Of Grace

In the Old Testament when the Israelites were tempted, they couldn’t run to the High Priest for help and certainly couldn’t enter the Holy of Holies. As believers in Christ Jesus, our High Priest, we can come any time in any circumstance and find the help we need.

Hebrews. 4:15-16. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Every believer in Christ is invited and even encouraged to come boldly to the Throne of Grace--and what a great throne it is. Our Lord is ministering mercy and grace--not what we deserve.

Jesus never deserts His Own. He’s the God of Creation. He’s the God Who can do the impossible. When you feel like crying: cry, weep, and empty your heart of bitterness or sorrow--but call upon the Lord. Offer up thanksgiving for all He has done for you. In His Own time and in His Own way, He will lift your burdens.

A Living Sacrifice

Romans 12:1-2  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Is your life stable? Are you growing closer to the Lord? Does He have your best or is it one step forward and two steps back? Is your sacrifice bucket stashed with inferior substitutes? That won't do. Jesus wants a living sacrifice. He wants you.

INFERIOR SUBSTITUTE SACRIFICES:

  • Serving The Lord with human effort instead of seeking divine power
  • Compromising God’s standards of excellence
  • Accepting what the World offers in place of God’s presence and power
  • Making  excuses instead of humble obedience
Presenting your body a living sacrifice to God isn’t always easy, but God knows we aren’t perfect so He offers His mercies. He only wants our best. That’s reasonable.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Jesus Is All I Need

I'd like to share one of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

When the world is being tossed and twisted, God forever remains the same. He’s my Rock.

The saints of God have a place of safety—a fortress of perfect peace in the day of trial.

Jesus rescued us from death and delivered us from danger by His saving grace. He’s in control of all things, even when we don't understand..

None of us know what we will face in the future, but believers can know that God will give us the strength and grace to face it. He’s my "buckler" --- my shield -- against the storm that's coming.

Faith And Answered Prayer

Hebrews 11:1,6  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Faith is the assurance that God will do exactly what He promised. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

Faith isn’t  some button we push to force God into doing what we want. Many have prayed for things they wanted or thought they needed and their requests were denied. Sometimes they get bitter about that. Prayers are answered when believers abide in Christ.

John 15:7  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Abiding in Christ is keeping in fellowship with Him so His life can work in and through us to produce fruit. It involves the Word of God and confessing sin  so that nothing hinders our communion with Him. When we abide in Christ we obey Him because we love Him. We have faith.

Faith calms our fears, cushions our falls, and confirms our future. Many believers never learn what God can do because they never believe.
