Goodness And Mercy

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

The Lord, our Great Shepherd, promises to help us every day of our lives. I’m glad I’m one of his sheep. Goodness and mercy will be my constant companion all the way home.

Goodness and mercy are clothed in grace. It reminds us that we will always be blessed with grace sufficient to meet our need. He assure us of safe passage through this violent and harsh land. With Him near, there is nothing to fear.

And to dwell in the house of the Lord forever ---- that’s the hope and destiny of every child of God today. That's the icing on the cake.

The Faith-like Sorrow

There’s a sorrow that’s influenced by faith. This kind of sorrow is different from the sorrow the world feels. This kind of sorrow hurts, but it hurts with hope. This kind of sorrow knows that there’s a sovereign God Who controls all the paths of life.

God has always worked in powerful ways in the lives of His people, from how He saved us by grace to the way He supplied our needs. That teaches us that He has the power, the ability, and the will to help us through the sorrows we face..

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

What We Shall Be

1 John 3:1-2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

What do believers know about God? We know He's good. We know His love for us in immeasurable and we know the peace and joy we have in His fellowship and being in the Family of God.

I look forward to the day when I’ll be like Jesus. No more ailments, aches, pain, pills ---  a perfect body like my Lord, for I will see Him as He is and will be like him.

My hope is settled in the Lord. He’s the Anchor of my soul. Complete victory was won as He died upon the cross and rose victoriously from the grave. Although I can’t grasp it or explain it all, I’m more certain and confident of my future with the Lord  than I am in the next five minutes.

He Was There All The Time

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

This is one of those scriptures that you grab, hug and cling to, especially when you’re passing through  the waters, rivers, and fire.

Praise God when victory comes. The Lord was with us through it all. God is Good.

It’s good to know that you have the highest qualified ever ---- The Great God of the Universe, the One who rolled back the Red Sea, and the Jordan, and the one who kept Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego from burning  in the mighty fire ---- it’s  good to know the Lord is with you.

In The Presence Of The Lord

Psalm 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

The Lord provides what this world can’t. In Him is everlasting joy. Of all the places I’ve been, a place beside the Lord is the best.

I’ve been saved several years and I still long to be in the presence of my Lord. I never grow tired of His tender mercies and the peace He gives.

There’s a place by the Lord for all to dwell if only they come to Him. Once you’ve found that place drive some stakes, set up housekeeping, and determine in your heart to remain there until the Lord calls for you, stake a claim.

The Worry Rat

Worry is like a rat in your heart and mind. If left alone it will gnaw at you until it destroys your life and steals away  your joy, power and energy.

But, the rodent of worry can/t live in the secret place of the Most High. It can’t breathe in an atmosphere that is steeped in prayer and influenced by the Word of God.  Worry dies when we ascend to the Lord through prayer and His Word.

Worried Christian need an attitude Of prayer, and thanksgiving as we approach God with our worries, fears and burdens.

John 14:27 27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Faith, Hope, And Love

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

There are times when life is like a stormy sea. Times when we need to anchor in Someone stronger than ourselves. Times when we need such a strong rope to bind us to a Rock of safety. Our text verse tells us of such a three-fold spiritual rope.

When Faith, Hope and Love are utilized and exercised together, they enable us to weather any storm that arises in our lives.

Faith isn’t a blind leap into the dark. It’s a confident leap into the arms of God. Often the end is not in view when this leap is made, but the landing is never in doubt.

Without genuine, biblical love, we are wasting our time trying to live for the Lord. We will always be out of step on one level or the other. LoveIng our brother and sister, as we should, keeps all the relationships in our life in perfect balance!
