Hid In God's Pavilion

Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Could there be a safer place in all the universe? Of course not!  Those who are hidden in God’s pavilion are protected by Him. It’s a place of solitude that you and I can flee to during the crushing battles that rage about us.

Peace and the profound presence of God is there for those who have learned to abide in Him, for  those who love the Lord their God.  The enemy dare not follow.

Are you fighting some battles today?  In the midst of your battles do you have the deep settled confidence that everything is going to be alright?  If you do praise the Lord, for He has already brought you to that special place of blessing.

If not, seek God. Give Him your life and your problems. Trust Him.

If He Is Lord

Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

If He is Lord, then He is worthy to be loved, served, worshiped, and obeyed.

If He is Lord, then He is worthy of all our time, our talents, and our treasures.

If He is Lord, then He deserves first place in our hearts and in our lives.

If He is Lord, than He should be exalted, praised, and loved.

If He is Lord, then let Him be Lord of all, for if He is not Lord of all, then He is not Lord at all!

God Is Faithful

Sometimes I need to remind myself that God is faithful.

2 Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

Regardless of what life throws at you, the Lord can be trusted to stand by His promises.

  • He will save you if you will come to Jesus----Rom. 10:9, 13; Acts 16:31.
  • He will keep you and take you to Heaven when this life is over----John 6:37-40, 44.
  • He will hear you when you call on Him----Jer. 33:3; Matt. 7:7-11.
  • He will meet your needs here----Matt. 6:25-34; Phil. 4:19.
  • He will give you grace sufficient for every trial----2 Cor. 12:9.
  • He will give you His peace in the midst of every circumstance of life----Phil. 4:6-7.
  • He will walk with you every step of the way to glory----Heb. 13:5; Matt. 28:20.

God's Grace Is Sufficient

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

The Apostle Paul names all these things that he’s “in”.  Yet, he tells us that it’s “in” these things that he has found peace and contentment. He had learned a secret that many believers never get a handle one. He learned the truth that God is just as real and just as powerful in the battles of life as He is during the times of peace and prosperity.

When we come to the place where we can see our trials from God’s perspective, then our whole outlook will be altered. We’ll stop seeing our situation as being hard, harsh and difficult, but  that He’s working out His will in us. We’ll learn to yield to Him.

When we get to that place, then the Lord can work through us and our situation in ways we never imagined.

God’s grace is sufficient for whatever you are going through.

Victory, Grace, and Strength

Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The Apostle Paul says, “I can…through Christ.” This is dynamic contentment; this is dynamic Christian life. This is victory over every temptation; grace for every trouble; strength for every task.

What are “all things?” Jump off church roof?  Stop speeding car?  Play piano? No. It means all the things Paul mentioned in the previous verse.

Philippians 4:12  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Jesus gives power to face life’s adversities. He gives power to enjoy contentment regardless of circumstances, Phil. 4:6-7.

A poor farmer worked hard and had nothing. When he died his property was found to be sitting on a sea of oil.  He had a treasure he had never tapped into. Are you content? Are you saved? Are you tapping the well of God’s power?

The Sacrifice Of Praise

Psalm 100:3-4 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

If you are a born again believer you belong to the Chief Shepherd. If you ever grasp the truth that the LORD is your Shepherd it would forever transform you. The problem we have is that many of us haven’t learned to trust Him as we should.

The Lord  invites us to walk into the throne room where we can meet Him in all of His glory. Never forget why you go to church.

No wonder the Psalmist challenges us to be thankful and to bless His Name. We are counseled to bring the right sacrifice when we enter--- the sacrifice of praise. That’s what church is all about.
