When I Love You Like I Should

When you read Paul’s letter to the Philippians, you will notice that he had mostly positive things to say.

Though the church was not perfect (none are), Paul loved those people, always praying for God to give them grace and peace.

Philippians 1:3  I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.

True love sees the best in others.

1 John 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

When I love you like I should, I will not zero in on your negatives. I have minuses in my life too.

When I love you like I should, I will pray for you when I see something I don’t like, but I won’t criticize you or talk about you.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Faith Of A Mustard Seed

Every believer possesses a measure of faith. The faith of some is stronger than others, but even the smallest amount of faith in Christ is sufficient if we believe.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

A mustard seed is very small—about the size of a pinhead.

Jesus says it isn’t the size of our faith that’s so important. The substance of our faith is what matters. A small amount of genuine faith in Christ will produce far more than an abundance of faith in anything else.

Jesus confirms that faith is essential in the life of a believer.

The Miraculous Creator

There is only One who does the miraculous as commonly as we humans draw breath.

Psalm 136:5-6,23 To him that by wisdom made the heavens— for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters—for his mercy endureth for ever. . . .23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

As spoken into being by God, the vastness and glory of the universe is perfect. Everything in it operates on split second timing.

Isaiah 40:12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

We are blessed beyond measure to be offered an intimate relationship with this Amazing God through Christ our Lord. Thank you, Lord for saving my soul.

Successfully Living For Jesus

When we are dedicated to Jesus, walking by faith in His love, He works in us and through us to accomplish the things He wants in our lives.

Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

In other words, it doesn’t fall to us to make the Christian life happen. Our duty is to yield to Him.

When we do, His power transcends our weakness and enables us to live for the Lord and to accomplish great things for His glory.

My Grace Is Sufficient

There are times when the valleys seem to go on forever—times when the night never seems to end—times when our load seems so heavy that we feel the next step will be our last.

The good news is that these times won’t last forever. One day we will reach the end of this road and step out of this life of troubles and trials into an eternity free from even the hint of pain.

Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

But while we are still here there will be trials and burdens that we’ll have to endure. In those times we have God’s faithful promise.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

He has promised to get us through even the worst of times.

2 Corinthians 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Jesus Cares

It may surprise some to think about God being a caring God. He is often portrayed as a God of wrath and judgment.

This is one side of His character—He hates sin but loves the sinner. He is also a God of love, compassion and intimacy, One who cares.

Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

When Jesus looked at that crowd He saw every broken heart, every physical ailment, every emotional need, and every spiritual problem.

He saw the crippled child. He saw the abused wife, the depressed father, and the rebellious teenager.

I praise the Lord that our God sees everything that happens in this universe and can still focus on the individual.

He cares about you and the needs in your life. Humble yourself. Come to Him and find help. He cares. Worship Him.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Praying

Prayer is the source of our power, the means of our praise, and the avenue of our spiritual prosperity.

When praying, believers must see God as Holy and develop a commitment and hunger for that time of communion with Him.

Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Searching the Lord with all our hearts means humbly sharing the good and the bad—being honest with God. Otherwise, we haven’t prayed at all.

If there is sin in our lives it must be dealt with—ask for forgiveness. If there are concerns or fears, we need to share them with the Lord.

Pray that God will give you wisdom and the ability to allow Him to oversee and lead every area of your life.

Thank Him and praise Him for His many blessings.
