Just a Closer Walk With Thee

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

If we want to walk closer to God we must turn loose of worldly things and set our hearts and minds upon Him. Matt. 6:24.

Just a Closer Walk With Thee

________________________________

I am weak, but Thou art strong; — Jesus, keep me from all wrong; — I’ll be satisfied as long   —   As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

CHORUS:

Just a closer walk with Thee,   —   Grant it, Jesus, is my plea.   —   Daily walking close to Thee,   —   Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,   —   If I falter, Lord, who cares?   —   Who with me my burden shares?   —   None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee. - - -

When my feeble life is o’er,   —   Time for me will be no more;   —   Guide me gently, safely o’er   —   To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

We may call it Heaven right now, but one day we will call it home.

Consider the wonders of that city — God wiping our tears away. Wow!

No more death or sorrow or pain.

I’m looking forward to going home.  I’m really homesick.

There's a light in the window    —   The table's spread in splendor;    —   Someone's standing by the open door.  — I can see a crystal river. — I must be near forever.  — See, I've never been this homesick before.

CHORUS:

See the bright light shine,    —   It's just about home time.    —   I can see my Father standing at the door.    —   This world has been a wilderness.    —   I'm ready for deliverance.    —   Lord, I've never been this homesick before.

I can see the family gather,    —   Sweet faces all familiar,    —   And no one's old or feeble anymore. —   My lonesome heart is cryin'. — Think I'll spread my wings for flyin'. — Lord, I've never been this homesick before. - - -

God Will Take Care of You

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

We are told to give all our burden to Jesus, not keeping any to ourselves.

We can do this with absolute confidence that He cares for us, Heb. 4:15.

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Be not dismayed whate’er betide,  —  God will take care of you; — Beneath His wings of love abide,    —    God will take care of you.

CHORUS:

God will take care of you,  —  Through every day, o’er all the way;  —  He will take care of you,    —    God will take care of you.

Through days of toil when heart doth fail,    —    God will take care of you;    —    When dangers fierce your path assail,    —    God will take care of you. - - -

All you may need He will provide, — God will take care of you; — Nothing you ask will be denied,    —    God will take care of you. - - -

No matter what may be the test,  —  God will take care of you;  —  Lean, weary one, upon His breast,    —    God will take care of you. - - -

The Lily of the Valley

Song of Songs 2:1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Whatever it is that you need today, you will find it in Jesus.

He is all we need..

The Lily of the Valley

I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,  —  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul; — The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see — All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.  —   In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;  —   He tells me every care on Him to roll.

CHORUS:

He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,  —   He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;  —   In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;  —   I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn  —   From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r.  —   Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,  —   Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal. - - -

He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,  —   While I live by faith and do His blessed will;  —   A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,  —   From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.  —   Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,  —   Where rivers of delight shall ever roll. - - -

What a Day That Will Be

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

When we leave this world, whether it be by the rapture or the graveyard, there are some things that can’t go with us.

Think about it!  In heaven there will be no more death, no more sorrow, no more tears, and no more pain.

There’s coming a day when no heartaches shall come,     —    No more clouds in the sky,    —    No more tears to dim the eye.    —    All is peace forever more     —    On that happy golden shore.    —    What a day, glorious day that will be!

CHORUS:

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,    —    And I look upon His face, the one who saved my by His grace.    —    When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land;    —    What a day, glorious day that will be!

There’ll be no sorrows there,  —  No more burdens to bear;  —  No more sickness, no pain,    —    No more parting over there.    —    And forever I will be with the one who died for me.    —    What a day, glorious day that will be! - - -

My Faith Looks Up to Thee

Ephesians 3:11-12 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

[12] In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Our faith in Jesus give us “confidence” that we are His; that we are saved and headed to glory when this life is over, Phil. 1:6.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

My Faith Looks Up toThee

My faith looks up to Thee,   —  Thou Lamb of Calvary,      —    Savior divine!   —   Now hear me while I pray, — Take all my guilt away, —  Oh, let me from this day   —   Be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart  —  Strength to my fainting heart,  —  My zeal inspire!   —   As Thou hast died for me,   —   Oh, may my love to Thee   —   Pure, warm, and changeless be,   —   A living fire!

While life’s dark maze I tread, — And griefs around me spread, — Be Thou my guide;   —   Bid darkness turn to day,   —   Wipe sorrow’s tears away,   —   Nor let me ever stray   —   From Thee aside.

When ends life’s transient dream,   —   When death’s cold, sullen stream   —   Shall o’er me roll;   —   Blest Savior, then in love,   —   Fear and distrust remove;   —   Oh, bear me safe above,   —   A ransomed soul!

Since Jesus Came Into My Heart

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we believer in Jesus as our personal Savior, we are now in a relationship with the glorified Christ.

The old life is made new with a peace we’ve never known.  Praise God!

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought    —   Since Jesus came into my heart;    —   I have light in my soul for which long I have sought,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart.

CHORUS:

Since Jesus came into my heart,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart;    —   Floods of joy o’er my soul like the sea billows roll,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart.

I have ceased from my wand’ring and going astray,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart;    —   And my sins which were many are all washed away,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart. - - -

I shall go there to dwell in that City I know,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart;    —   And I’m happy, so happy as onward I go,    —   Since Jesus came into my heart. - - -
