That Spirit and Flesh Battle

Christians have a say in what they allow in their lives.

Galatians 5:16,17  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

The Apostle Paul had that problem and so do we. (Rom. 7:15-25).

The flesh tries to hinder prayer, study, witness, faithfulness and obedience. We aren't perfect. When we slip into the flesh, the Lord Jesus is waiting with grace and outstretched arms to forgive and forget when we confess. We need to walk in the Spirit every day. It's submitting to God.

Galatians 5:22,23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

There Is Hope

We live in a time when people need to know that there's hope in the midst of desperation.

Hope in our world won't come from the Courthouse, the Capitol or the White House. It won't be found in a bottle, a pill or a needle. It won't be found in religious philosophy, social change, sex, money or power.

Hope is found in the message Jesus preached, handed down to His disciples, and preached in Bible believing churches. Hope is found in Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Believe in Jesus. By grace He can save your soul, wash away your sins and take you to Heaven when you die. He can give you a new life.

Honour And Glory

I could never live good enough to merit salvation. I'm thankful that the grace of God was offered to me through the blood sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. I deserved judgment for my sins.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

The Apostle Paul could never get over Jesus forgiving him for persecuting and killing Christians.

1 Timothy 1:17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.

One day we'll see Jesus in all His glory. All the saints of the ages will praise Him face to face throughout eternity, and I'll thank Him for allowing me to be a small part in His great plan.

If you don't know Jesus as your Savior, believe on Him by faith.

Receiving Salvation

Only Jesus Christ can take a wrecked life or even a good moral life and change it by the power of His saving grace.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

The Gospel doesn't have to be complicated. It's summed up here:

1 Corinthians 15:3,4 . . . .  Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

It's spelled out here:

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Salvation was bought and paid for at the cross and ratified in the resurrection. Those who receive it by faith have eternal life and all thy need to live for God.

Open Up Your Heart

Open Up Your Heart And Let The Sun Shine In was a popular song in the 1950s.

Only a Holy God can clean up our lives when we dare to open the door of our hearts to His holy light.

Psalm 139:23,24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

David knew God would find all sorts of things in his heart, things that needed to go or be changed. How could he hope to survive such a search? How can we?

The answer is faith. David trusted the Lord because he knew God's mercy and grace.

Lay your ugly baggage at the feet of Jesus and watch His grace -- amazing grace! Jesus is right for whatever's wrong in your life.

Want To Know More About God?

How much do you know about God? What does He think about you, your life, your actions, and your attitude?

The answers are found in your Bible. Humbly read it. Ask God to reveal His truths to you. The Book of John is a great starter. I like Romans, too. It's all good.

To know God better, pray, praise Him, trust Him, and seek his wisdom for your life. Maintain a personal relationship with Him.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31. And the second is like, namely this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

The Preaching Of The Cross

The heart of the Christian message is "Jesus Christ and Him crucified". It's so simple a child can understand.

The idea that God will only forgive people through one Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, and through one means, the cross, and on one condition, to repent and trust entirely on Him, is foolishness to a lost world and many don't want to hear it.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness: but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

If we attempt to remove the preaching of the cross, we are removing the only message that saves. Do you personally know Jesus?

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
