Stand By Me

Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, if you have responded in faith to the Word of God, you have been brought to the place where you can know that He will never leave you or forsake you.

That’s wonderful!

Master The Tempest is Raging

Matthew 8:25-26  And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

[26] And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

I’m humbled, remembering the times Jesus calmed the storms of my life with a whisper of “Peace be still.”

Master The Tempest is Raging

___________________________

Master, the tempest is raging!  — The billows are tossing high!  — The sky is o’er shadowed with blackness.   —   No shelter or help is nigh. —   Carest thou not that we perish?  —  How canst thou lie asleep  — When each moment so madly is threatening    —   A grave in the angry deep?

CHORUS:
The winds and the waves shall obey thy will:  —  Peace, be still.    —

Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea    —   Or demons or men or whatever it be,    —   No waters can swallow the ship where lies  —  The Master of ocean and earth and skies.    —   They all shall sweetly obey thy will:    —   Peace, be still; peace, be still.    —   They all shall sweetly obey thy will:    —   Peace, peace, be still.

Master, with anguish of spirit    —   I bow in my grief today.    —   The depths of my sad heart are troubled.    —   Oh, waken and save, I pray!    — Torrents of sin and of anguish  —  Sweep o’er my sinking soul, — And I perish! I perish! dear Master.    —   Oh, hasten and take control.

Master, the terror is over. — The elements sweetly rest.  — Earth’s sun in the calm lake is mirrored,  —  And heaven’s within my breast.  —  Linger, O blessed Redeemer!    —   Leave me alone no more,  —   And with joy I shall make the blest harbor    —   And rest on the blissful shore.

Redeemed

1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Only believers, those who’s sins have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus, can sing the song of the Redeemed.

It’s the joy of knowing that you are eternally saved through the Blood of Jesus.

Redeemed

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!    —    Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;    —   Redeemed through His infinite mercy,    —   His child and forever I am.

CHORUS:

Redeemed, redeemed,   —    Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;   —    Redeemed, redeemed,   —    His child and forever I am.

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,   —    No language my rapture can tell;   —    I know that the light of His presence   —    With me doth continually dwell.

I think of my blessed Redeemer, —  I think of Him all the day long: —  I sing, for I cannot be silent;   —    His love is the theme of my song.

I know I shall see in His beauty —  The King in whose law I delight; —  Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,   —    And giveth me songs in the night.

I Want to Stroll Over Heaven With You

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

It’s a comfort to know that we can have hope that we will again see our loved ones who have gone on to Heaven.

Because Jesus lived again, so will believers - 1 Thes. 4:13.

If I survey all the good things that come to me from above,    —    If I count all the blessings from the storehouse of love;    —    I'd simply ask for the favor of him beyond mortal king.    —    And I'm sure that he'd grant it again.

CHORUS:

I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day    —    When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away.    —    Then we'll enjoy the beauty where all things are new. — I want to stroll over Heaven with you.

So many places of beauty we long to see here below,  —  But time and treasures have kept us from making plans as you know.    —    But come the morning of the rapture, together we'll stand a new    —    While I stroll over Heaven with you.

No, Not One

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

That friend closer than a brother is Jesus.

He is always by our side. Thank God!

No, Not One

There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus, — No, not one! No, not one! — None else could heal all our soul’s diseases, — No, not one! No, not one!

CHORUS:

Jesus knows all about our struggles,    —    He will guide till the day is done;    —    There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,    —    No, not one! No, not one!

No friend like Him is so high and holy,    —    No, not one! No, not one!    —  And yet no friend is so meek and lowly,  —  No, not one! No, not one!

There’s not an hour that He is not near us    —    No, not one! No, not one!    —    o night so dark but His love can cheer us,    —    No, not one! No, not one!

Did ever saint find this Friend forsake him?    —    No, not one! No, not one!    —    Or sinner find that He would not take him?    —    No, not one! No, not one!

Was e’er a gift like the Savior given?    —    No, not one! No, not one!    —  Will He refuse us a home in heaven?  —  No, not one! No, not one!

At Calvary

Luke 23:33  And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Never did a King occupy such a gruesome throne as Jesus occupied that day!

It was a death that He went to willingly, humbly and expectantly -  John 18:37; Mark 10:45; Phil. 2:5-8.

He occupied that throne for you!

At Calvary

Years I spent in vanity and pride,    —    Caring not my Lord was crucified,    —    Knowing not it was for me He died    —    On Calvary.

CHORUS:

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;    —    Pardon there was multiplied to me;  — There my burdened soul found liberty —  At Calvary.

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;    —    Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,    —    Till my guilty soul imploring turned    —    To Calvary.

Now I’ve giv’n to Jesus everything;    —    Now I gladly own Him as my King;    —    Now my raptured soul can only sing    —    Of Calvary!

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!   —    Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!  —  Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span  —  At Calvary!

God Leads Us Along

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God reminds the Israelites of how He met their needs.

Crossing The Red Sea – Ex. 14

— Crossing of the Jordan – Deut. 4

— Walking through the fire – Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego – Daniel 3.

As you face the storms, walk through the valleys, or endure the dark nights of life, remember that He is the same God now as He was then and He will never fail you. Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:33; Psa. 37:25.

God Leads Us Along

In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,    —    God leads His dear children along;    —    Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,    —    God leads His dear children along.

CHORUS:

Some through the waters, some through the flood,    —    Some through the fire, but all through the blood;    —    Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,    —    In the night season and all the day long.

Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,    —    God leads His dear children along;    —    Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,    —    God leads His dear children along. - - -

Though sorrows befall us and Satan oppose,    —    God leads His dear children along;    —    Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,    —    God leads His dear children along. - - -

Away from the mire, and away from the clay,    —    God leads His dear children along;    —    Away up in glory, eternity’s day,    —    God leads His dear children along. - - -
