Jesus Is Coming-- He promised

Every promise God gave us in His Word will come to pass just as He said.
When He promised to save us if we call upon Him (Rom. 10:13); He meant it.
When He promised to be with us (Heb. 13:5); He meant it.
When He promised to take care of us (Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:25-34); He meant it.
When He promised to come back again; He meant that too.

Revelation 22:20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I believe Jesus is coming--- first for His Bride (believers) and seven years later in power and glory after the Great Tribulation. I can’t wait to see Him.  There are multitudes all around us who have never received Him as their Savior.  You might be the one to reach them.

Signs of the time are everywhere; There’s a brand new feeling in the air;
Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky; Lift up your head, Redemption draweth nigh.

Washed In The Blood

1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

There’s only one means of salvation. You must be washed in the blood of Christ. Nothing else that you do and are in life matters until you are washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

How do you get washed in the blood? When you look to Jesus by faith for your soul's salvation, His blood is counted as the payment for your sins. In other words, the blood is applied and you are saved by grace.

The atonement we have through the blood of Jesus is a treasure that is priceless in its value to the human soul.

Finishing Strong

At the end of King David’s life he praises the Lord for His grace and blessings and then he  encourages his son Solomon to build God a temple.

1 Chronicles 28:20  And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord .

The end of life doesn’t have to be a sad time. There’s something serene and special about the funeral of dedicated saints of God. There's consolation in their admonition and testimony.

When it’s my time to go I want to finish strong like David.  I want to remember God’s blessings, still carrying out my responsibilities, still relying on the Lord and rejoicing in Him.

The Apostle Paul also finished strong. I love what he wrote to Timothy.

2 Timothy 4:7-8  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Not The Flesh But The Spirit

Believers  sometimes get confused in serving the Lord. Some are on fire one day and cold as a hammer the next. The Apostle Paul  describes this dilemma.

Romans 7:14-15 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

Every day we are engaged in battle with the flesh and the devil. He wants to devour all the good in our life and our testimony, Thank God, there’s victory in Jesus for those who look to Him for help.

Galatians 5:16-17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Is your life stable? Are you constantly growing closer to the Lord or is it filled with one step forward and two steps back?  Seek the Lord to help you to walk in the Spirit.

Cross-Bearng

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

The will of the child of God should be swallowed up in the will of the Lord. Then we will lose sight of ourselves and our interests and become consumed with and focused on the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the essence of true cross-bearing,  We simply reach the place in our Christian experience where Jesus becomes more important than we are.

And then one glorious day we will stand in the presence of the One who climbed Calvary's Hill to redeem our souls from a devil's Hell. We will see His face and we will worship Him in the beauty of holiness.

The glory of Heaven will be none of the things we long for. The glory of Heaven will be the opportunity to see Jesus face to face.  "What A Day That Will Be".

Unconditional Love

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Before we were Redeemed we were nothing but paupers, dressed in the rags of sins until Jesus came to us in His love, saved us by His grace, and clothed us in His Own righteous robes, Isa. 61:10; Rom. 4:16-25.

The love of God found its ultimate expression the day Jesus died on the cross for our sins. God knew that we could never love Him like He loves us, but He loved us anyway. He knew there was nothing about us that merited His love, but He loved us anyway.

You see, nothing we did made the Lord start loving us and nothing we can do will make Him stop loving us. Love is a choice that God in His sovereignty makes. It’s a choice that He is willing to stand by forever. Thank God for unconditional love!

Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior? He loves you, too.

Your Place Of Service

Following the persecution that led to the stoning of Stephen, the church was scattered and the Gospel was taken to distant areas. Many believers made their way to Antioch, an area 300 miles north of Jerusalem, and a great number of people were saved.

Acts 11:22-23 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

Our availability and willingness to be used of the Lord will exceed any abilities we have. Granted, God equips us to serve, and He uses our abilities for His glory, but He’s seeking those who will simply surrender their lives to Him.

Although Barnabas served in the shadow of a giant of the faith, God used him in mighty ways. He’s not as well-known as Paul, but he served faithfully in the role God called him to serve.

If you are struggling to find your place of service, seek the Lord for guidance and wisdom.
