Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
The Rainbow, representing a promise to never destroy the earth again by flood, is also a picture of Christ.
PURPLE: Royalty--King of Kings (1 Tim. 6:15)
BLUE: Heaven--Jesus comes from Heaven (John 3:13)
GREEN: New Life--He gives life (John 14:8 )
YELLOW: Sun Light--He is the light of the world (John 8:12)
ORANGE: Warning--Repent; "Ye must be born again." (John 3:3,7 Ps 8:17)
RED: Blood--The only way to God (1 Pet. 1:18-19; Rev. 1:5)
Just as man can't destroy a rainbow, the critics, liberals, and infidels can't destroy the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. Glory! Hallelujah!
When I'm under the bow, I'm shielded by the blood of Jesus.
We are nothing in and of ourselves. All that we possess, all that we accomplish, all the souls that are saved, and all the blessings we enjoy--all of it comes from our Sovereign Lord.
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by him and for him.
The health that we enjoy, the job we have to provide for our families, our homes, food, and provision for our daily lives comes from God. The sun we see and the breath we breathe come from God.
1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Without Him I could do nothing
Without Him I'd surely fail
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail
Mylon R. Lefevre
The mercy of God is free, overflowing, infinite, and eternal.
Psalm 103:7 But the mercy of The Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him and his righteousness unto children's children.
God's mercy is like a fountain that flows and never stops. Let down your bucket of faith and drink from the fountain.
Revelation 22:17 And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
When sinners drink from the mercy fountain, angels and all of heaven rejoice.
The mercy of God prevents, spares, supplies, guides, accepts, heals, quickens, supports, forgives, corrects, comforts, delivers, and many other things.
If it hadn't been for mercy and grace, I'd be eating with the pigs, wishing I were at Daddy's table.
The old, old story is about the atonement of Jesus Christ on Calvary's cross--His substitute for sinners. Only those who believe on Him qualify to stand before God the Father in the righteousness of His son--only those whose sins are covered by His blood.
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
The atonement of Christ is actually simple if you take it the way God gave it to us, but some people try to complicate it by adding works.
Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I love to tell the story, 'tis pleasant to repeat
What seems each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God's own holy word
Katherine Hankey 1834-1911
When our world is crumbling around us, the enemy will advance no further that The Lord allows. He cannot penetrate God, our shield.
Psalm 3:3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
King David ran for his life more than once, but fleeing from Absalom, his son, broke his heart. Yet, he enjoyed confidence and security in The Lord.
We don't have to face our problems alone. Give them to Jesus, then step back and give Him time to respond--his way.
Trusting in The Lord sounds simple, but it's hard to master. Lean on His promises.
Almighty God is good.
We need to live our lives pleasing to The Lord so that we can experience His power on a daily basis.
1 Samuel 18:14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and The Lord was with him.
We need to behave wisely when making difficult decisions; to know when to speak, when to listen, when to move forward, and when to stand still.
Sometimes the best action is no action. At other times we should stand firm on the Word of God. We need wisdom from God to make the right decision.
If we walk wisely in humility, God will honor our efforts. If we decide that we can handle our own problems, He may let us try, but we may not like the results.
We should seek Godly wisdom in every facet of life--every day.
God breathed His Word through human personalities to give us an infalible, inspired record of Himself and His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalm 12:6,7 The words of The Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.
Throughout history men have tried but failed to destroy God's Word. Make sure your translation is as pure as the original, not missing verses about the blood or changing meanings. Some do.
God never re-inspired His Word. He preserved it in its original inspired form because He knew we would need it in 2014.
2 Timothy 3:16,17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
