What A Day That Will Be

 We have to have hope.

We have all the hope we need through our relationship with Jesus Christ and through the promise of His coming.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

His return brings us hope for all our tomorrows.

What A Day That Will Be!

There is coming a day,   —    When no heart aches shall come,   —    No more clouds in the sky,   —    No more tears to dim the eye,  —  All is peace forever more,   —   On that happy golden shore,   —    What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus:

What a day that will be,   —    When my Jesus I shall see,   —    And I look upon His face,   —    The One who saved me by His grace; —  When He takes me by the hand,   —    And leads me through the Promised Land,   —    What a day, glorious day that will be.

There’ll be no sorrow there,   —    No more burdens to bear,   —    No more sickness, no pain,   —    No more parting over there;   —    And forever I will be   —    With the One who died for me,   —    What a day, glorious day that will be.

Through It All

1 Peter 1:7. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Peter speaks of the refining process that gold goes through. When it is subjected to the flame, the impurities and dross in the gold come to the top.

The result is far purer gold than that which was present before.

The same is true in the life of the believer.

When Jesus allows us to go through the furnace of affliction, it serves to remove from our lives things that were not needed and it brings into a closer and purer relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Through it all we learn to trust in God.

Through it all

I've had many tears and sorrows,   —   I've had questions for tomorrow,   —   There's been times I didn't know right from wrong.   —   But in every situation,   —   God gave me blessed consolation,   —   that my trials come to only make me strong.

Chorus:

Through it all,   —   through it all,   —   I've learned to trust in Jesus,   —   I've learned to trust in God.   —   Through it all,   —   through it all,   —   I've learned to depend upon His Word.

I've been to lots of places,   —   I've seen a lot of faces,   —   There's been times I felt so all alone.   —   But in my lonely hours,   —   yes, those precious lonely hours,   —   Jesus let me know that I was His own

I thank God for the mountains,   —   and I thank Him for the valleys,   —   I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.   —   For if I'd never had a problem,   —   I wouldn't know God could solve them,   —   I'd never know what faith in God could do.

The Holy Hills

You might be troubled by many things today, but if you are a born again believer in Jesus Christ, don’t worry.

You are not home yet. None of the things that hinder and haunt you here can follow you to Heaven.

Revelation 21:3-4 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

[4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

I hear Heaven calling, drawing me like a mighty magnet. Do you?

The Holy Hills

The holy hills of Heaven call me   —    To mansions bright across the sea   —    Where loved ones wait and crowns are given   —    When the hills of home start calling me.

Chorus:

This house of clay is but a prison,   —    Bars of bone hold my soul.   —    But the doors of clay are gonna burst wide open   —    When the angel sets my spirit free;   —    I'll take my flight like a mighty eagle   —    When the hills of home start calling me.

I see loved ones over yonder.   —    Tears are gone and hearts are free.   —    And from the throne my Savior beckons,   —    And the hills of home are calling me.

The Lighthouse

John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

This song was made popular in the 1970’s by the Oakridge Boys when they sang gospel.

It always humbled my heart as I thought of where I would be without the good Lord saving my soul.

The Lighthouse

There's a lighthouse on the hillside   —   That over looks life's sea.   —   And when I'm tossed it sends out a light   —   That I might see.   —   And the light that shines in darkness now   —   Will safely lead us o'er.   —   If it wasn't for the Lighthouse   —

My ship would be no more.

Everybody that lives around us   —   Says tear that Lighthouse down   —   The big ships don't sail this way anymore   —   There's no use of it standing round.   —   Then my mind goes back to that stormy night   —   When just in time I saw the light,   —   Yes, the light from that old lighthouse   —   That stands there on the hill.

Chorus:

And I thank God for the Lighthouse   —   I owe my life to Him.   —   For Jesus is the Lighthouse.   —   And from the rocks of sin,   —   He has shown a light around me   —   That I could clearly see.   —   If it wasn't for the Lighthouse   —   Where would this ship be.

I Bowed On My Kneese And Cried Holy

I am excited about going to Heaven. I look forward to joining my voice with the redeemed saints, praising the One Who sought me, bought and delivered my from my sins.

Revelation 5:11-12 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

[12] Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Nettie Dudley Washington dreamed about Heaven and wrote about it in a song that makes me homesick for Heaven very time I hear it.

I Bowed On My Knees And Cried Holy

________________________________

I dreamed I went to that city called Glory.   —   So bright and so fair;   —   When I entered the gates I cried, “Holy,”   —   The angels all met me there.   —   They showed me from mansion to mansion   —   And oh, the sights I saw,   —   But I said, “I want to see Jesus,   —   The One who died for all.”

Chorus

Then I bowed on my knees and cried,  —  “Holy, Holy, Holy.”  —   I clapped my hands and sang, “Glory,   —   Glory to the Son of God.”

I thought as I entered that city   —   My friends knew me well,   —

They showed me all thru heaven,   —   The scenes are too num’rous to tell.   —   They showed me Abraham, Isaac, Jacob,   —   Mark, Luke, and Timothy   —   But I said, I want to give praise   —   To the One who died for me.

I thought when I saw my Savior:    —   oh, glory to God!   —   I just fell right down before Him.   —   Singing praise the name of the Lord.   —   I bowed down and worshipped Jehovah,   —   My friend of Calvary.   —   For I wanted to give praise to Jesus   —   For saving a sinner like me.

Precious Lord, Take My Hand

If God is our God, and He is an able God, then why should we fear, fret or faint?

Our God is on the throne. Seek Him to guide you in the rough and smooth paths of life.

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Isaiah 41:13  For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Precious Lord, Take My Hand

________________________________

Chorus:

Precious Lord, take my hand,   —   Lead me on, let me stand. —   I am tired, I am weak, I am worn.  —   Through the storm, through the night,   —   Lead me on to the light. — Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.

When my way grows drear,   —   precious Lord linger near.  — When my life is almost gone;   —   Hear my cry, hear my call,   —   Hold my hand lest I fall.   —   Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home.

When the darkness appears   —   and the night draws near,  —   And the day is past and gone;   —   At the river I stand, —  Guide my feet, hold my hand.   —   Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home.

I Just Feel Like nSomething Good Is About To Happen

2 Timothy 3:1-2 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (continued in verses 3-5).

I think it’s safe to say that we are living in "perilous" times. Signs are everywhere.

The last days mean Jesus will soon appear in the clouds with a trumpet to call His believers home. That gives me comfort and hope. 1 Thes. 4:13-17.

Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

In these dark and desperate and difficult days —

I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About To Happen.

I just feel like something good is about to happen.   —   I just feel like something good is on its way.   —   He has promised that He'd open all of heaven   —   And brother, it could happen any day.  —   When God's people humble themselves to call on Jesus,   —   And they look to heaven expecting as they pray;   —   I just feel like something good is about to happen.   —   And brother, this could be that very day.

I have learned in all that happens just to praise Him,   —   For I knew He's working all things for my good.   —  Every tear I shed is worth all the investment,   —   For I know He'll see me through, He said He would.   —  He has promised eye nor ear can hardly fathom   —   All the things He has in store for those who pray.   —   I just feel like something good is about to happen,   —   And brother, this could be that very day.

Yes, I've noticed all the bad news in the paper   —   And it seems like things are bleaker every day   —   But for this child of God it makes no difference   —   Because it's bound to get better either way.   —   I’ve never been more thrilled about tomorrow.   —   Sunshine's always bursting thru the skies of gray.   —   I just feel like something good is about to happen,   —   And brother this could be that very day.
