God's Word Is Inspired

2 Timothy 3:16,17  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Bible isn’t simply a book of religious ideas or good moral advice. It’s the very Word of God,  able to establish us in Him because it is inspired byHim.

It's been said that doctrine tells us what is right, reproof tells us what is not right, correction tells us how to get right, and instruction tells us how to stay right.

God’s Word is food to nourish us, light to guide us, and a weapon to defend us. A working knowledge of the Bible is essential for spiritual growth.

One reason God has established local churches is that believers might grow in the Word and, in turn, help others to grow.

Revived Fellowship

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

When we become dedicated believers we learn that the more we worship God, the  more He is precious to us. Sometimes the wrinkles of life stifle our worship, and we lose the  joy of our fellowship.

Has that ever happened to  you? It’s happened to many of us. To revive that holy  fellowship, talk to God about it. Examine yourself.  Are you obeying the Lord --- living in God’s will? Only when you are in a place of obedience can you enjoy God’s blessings and worship Him..

Has pride and arrogance  closed the door of worship?  Do you harbor unconfessed sins? Are you unwilling to forgive someone? A humble confession or forgiving someone will fix that.

Meditate on who God is and  all He has done for you. Remember that it cost Him everything.

A rededicated life can expect “spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

When you rededicate your life to the Lord you rejoice, God rejoices, Angels rejoice, and the joy trickles down to family and friends. Worship the Lord.

The Armor Of God

Ephesians 6:12-13  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 

THE BELT OF TRUTH: Unless our lives and testimonies are rooted in and lived out in truth, we will not be able “to stand in the evil day.” The truth is in God's Word.

THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: Living a clean and pure life that brings glory to God.

THE BOOTS OF PEACE: Feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace,” means that we are saved by grace and know it.

THE BUCKLER OF FAITH: When we live by faith, we become an impossible target for the devil.

THE HELMET OF SALVATION: When we are confident that we are saved and secure in Jesus, we have the ability to stand for Him against the attacks of  Satan.

THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT: The Word of God is a precious treasure. Cherish it. Read it. Learn it. Love it. Live it. When the enemy comes against you, you will be ready to stand by the Word.

Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God is the whole armor of God. When we put all of it on we can expect victory. ----“and having done all, to stand”.

The Shield Of Faith

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

“The shield of faith” is simple trust in God. It‘s taking Him at His Word and believing Him in all things. It’s putting Him and His will ahead of everything else in life. So, when Satan launches his “fiery darts” at us we are able to hold up “the shield of faith” and watch them fall harmlessly to the ground.

 “The shield of faith” is what makes the Christian life possible. The Lord says, For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith,” Rom. 1:17. This kind of faith is the very lifeblood of the believer.

 “The shield of faith,” which is simple childlike faith and trust in the Lord, is a shield that the arrows of Satan cannot penetrate. It will carry you home to glory and bring you into the presence of the Lord.

Are you rooted and grounded in the truth and ready for the attacks of the enemy?

Real Revival

I think real revival, when it comes, will make the church look more like the New Testament model. It will empower us for God’s work. It will compel us to reach the lost, stir us to worship the Lord and instruct us in holiness.

I don’t think real revival will be about counting “nickels and noses” or about emotionalism. I think real revival will cause us to fall in love with Jesus once again. Real revival looks like Romans 13:13-14 in action.

Romans 13:13-14  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

If real revival came, would everyone embrace it? No. Many would leave the church because they like things the way they were. Some  are unwilling to change.

Is real revival possible? Yes, but It will be more likely when we submit to God’s roadmap and prepare the way for Him to come to our hearts in power and glory.

God Hears Your Cry

2 Samuel 22:6-7  The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;  In my distress I called upon the Lord and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

There were many times in David’s life when the gates of cities were closed to him --- times when he couldn’t go into Jerusalem or run to the Tabernacle. King Saul, jealous of David’s victories, wanted to kill him. But when David lifted his cry to God, God heard him and moved in power to help him.

God’s ears are ever open to our cry. He invites us to flee to Him in our hour of trouble. When we do we will find Him to be all David said He was and more. He truly is “all we need”.

The longer I serve The Lord, the sweeter he grows. He has moved  mountains for me,  met my needs and worked things out I didn’t understand. It was all for his glory. That‘s something worth singing about. Praise His holy name.

Freedom Is Not Free

The freedom we enjoy as Americans was not cheap. One million brave soldiers paid for it with their blood. 

Five signers of the Declaration of Independence were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died. --- Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. --- Two lost their sons in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured. --- Nine of the fifty six  fought and died from wounds or the hardships of the Revolutionary War.

While the price for our national freedom was costly and bloody, it pales in comparison to the cost of our spiritual freedom --- the death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the  cruel cross at Calvary.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Would you like to be free? Come to Jesus. He will not turn you away.
