The Name Of Jesus

Philippians 2:9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him and given him a name which is above every name:

We don't hang our futures, base our hopes or exalt the name of one who is dead. Our Savior lives.

This is why God the Father has exalted His holy name. Jesus and Jesus alone entered this sin cursed world, stepped boldly into the jaws of death and snatched victory from the icy grasp of death and defeat.

Jesus and Jesus alone conquered death, Hell, the grave and sin for all men for all time, but you must believe on Him and repent of your sins. He's worthy of exaltation.

Kings and kingdoms will all pass away
But there's something about that name.

No Wonder They Call Grace Amazing

Think back to the day when, as a lost sinner, you were brought by the Spirit of God into the presence of God. Do you remember how He spoke peace to your soul? Do you remember how you came with nothing and left with everything? What grace! No wonder they call it amazing.

What sin could never give us became ours in Jesus by grace.

The power of grace takes the lost sinner, changes him completely and gives him a seat at the Lord's Table. It makes us one of God's children. It puts us on even footing with the rest of God's precious saints.  --  Abraham, Moses, the Apostles or any other saint of God. No wonder they call grace amazing.

1 John 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not.

Reverence

Philippians 2:12,13  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The phrase "work out your own salvation" has been misunderstood and misapplied for 2,000 years. It doesn't mean to work to be saved or to stay saved. (Eph. 2:8-9). These people in the Philippian Church were already saved.

Fear and trembling reminds us just how prone we are to fail. To fear the Lord with trembling is to reverence the Holy Lord. As we reverently study the Bible, we will grow deeper in the things of God, ever growing toward maturity.

The Christian life is not one of defeat and misery. It's a life of progress, joy and victory.

A Work In Progress

On the way to eternity believers are mere clay in the hands of the Heavenly Potter.

Philippians 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

The activity of God in us, around us and for us makes our confidence in Him something that is precious, powerful and real.

God saved us to make us like Jesus, and He will keep working on us until that level of perfection has been achieved.

On that day this vile flesh with all its appetites and affections will be left behind forever, and we will be changed into His image and be with Him forever. That's why we sing, Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine.

The Life Of Faith

There's only one life that pleases the Lord. It's the life of faith. The secret to experiencing and enjoying God's best is to let go of your life, place it in God's hands, and live it His way --  the Bible way.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

It takes faith to follow God into the unknown, to know that He is in absolute control of it all. Faith gives us hope in the promises of God.

It takes faith to stand when others are falling. It takes faith to serve God when those around us won't. It takes faith to know that He will work all things out for our good and His glory.

As we roam this world, things don't always go like we thought they would, but God's Word assures us that Jesus still says, "Peace be still" when we believe. Have faith.

Total Surrender

Every word he uttered, every thing he wrote, everywhere he went, the Apostle Paul was a living witness of total surrender to His Lord. He wasn't perfect, but he didn't allow personal problems to hinder the Lord's work.

When nothing else matters in your life but what matters to God, His work will get done.

Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.

2. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Is your life totally committed to God?  Do you eagerly anticipate doing His will? Those who need to hear the Gospel are running out of time. One day our lives will end. We must bear fruit for Jesus while we can.

The Power of God Is Forever

God's power is awesome and limitless. His blood-power gives us the grace-gift of salvation when we believe on Jesus. Then He gives us more grace to live for him. Trust him, and his power becomes your power.

When life overwhelms us, we can know that God fights for the helpless, feeds the hungry, frees the hostage, opens blind eyes, and lifts the broken. He knows your problem and he cares.

Ephesians 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

God will forever reign, and He will forever be worthy of our praise. His promises will forever stand.
