Walk As Jesus Walked

1 John 2:6  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Believers ought to walk like Jesus walked. How did Jesus walk? A few examples from His life may answer this question and teach us how we need to live.

He Placed God's Will Ahead Of All Things - John 4:34; John 6:38; Luke 22:42,  Matt. 6:33
He Loved All Men Equally - Matt. 12:15,  Mk. 10:21,  Matt. 22:37-39; John 13:15
He Always Did Those Things That Pleased God -  John 8:20,  John 14:15
He Was Compassionate Toward Others -  Matt. 9:36,  Mt. 14:14,  Mk. 1:41, Eph. 4:32. Phil. 2:4
He Was A Man Of Faith - John 11:41-42, Mk.11:22,  Rom. 14:23,  Heb. 11:6
Above all, He was a man who walked with God -  John 14:9; John 10:30, Gal. 5:22-23,

This is possible for us only when we yield totally to the Holy Spirit.  Jesus was a Spirit filled man.

The Coming Of Jesus

Does the thought of the Lord’s coming comfort your heart? It sure does mine. Can you hear the shout? Can you hear the trump? Are you ready to fly? Are you anxious to meet Jesus in the air? I am.

Some are walking through tight places today. When Jesus comes, not a single thing that plagues you here will follow you there. Aches and pains will disappear because our old body will be like the body of Christ.

Child of God,  our comfort and our encouragement is in the Coming of Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

A Living Sacrifice

The best believers can do is learn to rest in Jesus, to relax in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let go of yourself. Close your eyes and see Him walk on water, calm the tempest, and roll back the Red Sea. See Him feed the multitude, call Lazarus forth from the grave, and rise victoriously from the tomb.

Now, watch as He conducts His business, tenderly carrying you through the hills and valleys of your life.

When we loose sight of ourselves and rest solely in The Lord, then we can totally surrender to His will.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Disappointments

During Moses’ first forty years he dealt with his share of disappointments. He thought he was something. At the end of his second forty years he discovered that he was nothing. During his last forty years Moses learned that God was everything.

Life’s disappointments are truly God’s appointments. With God, there’s a way out of our disappointments.

Lamentations 3:21-24 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Lean On The Creator

Are the toils of life pulling you down? Lean on the Creator of Heaven and Earth, because nothing is impossible with God.

Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

As we honor The Lord and submit to His will, we can rise above situations and circumstances with His help.

 Learn to lean on Jesus.

The Philippian believers had sacrificed to meet Paul’s need. He reminds them that God will take care of them. Trust Him, He will also take care of you.

The Great Shepherd

Life isn’t all doom and gloom. If you know the Great Shepherd you have plenty to be excited about.

Psalm 23:1,2,6  The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. .  .  .  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

David was led of the Spirit to sing about Jehovah-Rohi; The LORD My Shepherd.  Why?  Because the image of a shepherd tenderly leading, feeding and caring for his sheep is a perfect picture of our precious Savior’s relationship to His sheep -- His believers.

In fact, the image of Himself as a shepherd was a favorite of the Lord Jesus,

John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Believe

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

The best plan of escape from our fears is to run to the safe arms of Jesus. Jesus will give you peace in place of fear.

Ye believe in God” - This is the kind of faith that will bring you through the valleys, that believes that God exists and that He is in absolute control of all things.

Believe also in Me” - It isn’t enough to believe that there is a God. A person must believe the Gospel Message --  the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
