In Times Like This

I’ve often wondered how people get through hard times without knowing Jesus.  I have hope, knowing my soul is anchored in Jesus.

Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

I also have peace as the world is caught up in the grip of the coronavirus crisis. I have the peace of God because I know God is in control. I also see signs that Jesus is coming soon.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I wish people who don’t know Jesus will seek Him. Everyone needs Jesus in times like this.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

“In times like these you need a Savior. — In times like these you need an anchor — Be very sure, be very sure — Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock.

“This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One — This Rock is Jesus, the only One. — Be very sure, be very sure — Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

“In times like these you need the Bible — In times like these, O be not idle — Be very sure, be very sure — Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock.

“In times like these I have a Savior — In times like these I have an anchor — I'm very sure, I'm very sure — My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock.”

Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I praise the Lord that believers have hope in what seems like a hopeless time.

I’m glad that when it seems that the whole world is afraid of catching the coronavirus or paying their bills because they can’t go to work or worrying about the bail out money bankrupting our country . . ?  I’m glad we can count on the Lord Jesus Christ.

He has already promised all we need.  Whether help for service or peace of heart —  our remedy is found in Him.
————————————————-

“Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, — Just to take Him at His Word; — Just to rest upon His promise, — Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord."

“Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! — How I've proved Him o'er and o'er! — Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! — Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

“Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus, — Just to trust His cleansing blood, — Just in simple faith to plunge me — 'Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

“Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus, — Just from sin and self to cease; — Just from Jesus simply taking — Life and rest, and joy and peace.

“I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee, — Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend; — And I know that Thou art with me, — Wilt be with me to the end.”

No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus

When fears of the virus is added to our personal problems, we may tend to get caught up in it to the point of losing heart.

We may even allow it to steal the glory that God has placed in our hearts. This shouldn’t be.

Instead, think about all the love and care the good Lord has blessed your with.

1 Peter 5:6-7  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

[7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
————————————————-

“I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus, — Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true. —I would tell you how He changed my life completely; — He did something no other friend could do.

“No one ever cared for me like Jesus; — There's no other friend so kind as He. — No one else could take the sin And darkness from me; — O how much He cared for me

‘Ev'ry day He comes to me with new assurance; — More and more I understand His word of love. — But I'll never know just why He came to save me, — Till someday I see His blessed face above.”

Sheltered In The Arms Of God

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

[9] Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

[10] Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

These verses speak to those who are suffering for their faith or bearing burdens from the natural problems and valleys of life.

The Apostle Paul uses some pretty descriptive language, describing his valleys as times of pain.

He’s troubled in every way, place and occasion but not crushed.

He’s perplexed, wondering which way to go, yet with hope.

He’s persecuted, hunted like an animal, knowing by the grace of God he won’t perish.

He’s cast down, still trusting the Lord.

The valleys Paul faced were chances for him to prove that God was truly God.

Regardless of how difficult life becomes, God has promised grace sufficient for whatever you may face in life, 2 Cor. 12:9.

“I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender — They're leading me in paths that I must trod. — I'll have no fear for Jesus walks beside me, — For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.

“So let the storms rage high, — The dark clouds rise, — They don't worry me. — For I'm sheltered safe within the arms of God. — He walks with me — And naught of earth shall harm me. — For I'm sheltered in the arms of God

“Soon I shall hear the call from Heaven's portals, — "Come home, My child, it's the last mile you must trod." — I'll fall asleep and wake in God's new heaven, — For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.”

We’ll Understand It Better By And By

The thought of a better place after our time on earth has cheered the hearts of God’s people for thousands of years.

But we are not home yet. While the troubles and trials we face are part of this earthly existence, they will not follow us where we are headed.

Praise God, the burdens of life are temporary at best, but we will understand it better by and by.

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

———————————————————-

“Trials dark on every hand, — and we cannot understand — all the ways that God would lead us — to that blessed promised land. — But he’ll guides us with his eye, — and we’ll follow till we die. — We will understand it better by and by.

“By and by, when the morning comes, — when the saints of God are gathered home, — we'll tell the story how we've overcome, — We will understand it better by and by.

“Temptations, hidden snares — often take us unawares, — and our hearts are made to bleed — for some thoughtless word or deed. — And we wonder why the test — when we try to do our best, — but we'll understand it better by and by.”

The King Is Coming

Since the day man sinned in the Garden of Eden, the whole of history has been moving toward one tremendous event: The day when Jesus Christ returns to this world in power and glory to reign on the throne of David, Isa. 9:7; Luke 1:32.

The first part of His return is when He comes to claim His people. They will be caught up to meet Jesus in the clouds and be taken to Heaven, John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thes. 4:13-17

It will be so sudden and so swift that people won’t know what has happened.

When Jesus returns the second time in glory and power with his saints, everyone, everywhere will know about it, Rev. 1:7. He will judge and rein the earth on the throne of David. Read Revelation 19.

Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

The marketplace is empty — No more traffic n the streets. — All the builders' tools are silent — No more time to harvest wheat. — Busy housewives cease their labors, — In the courtroom no debate. — Work on earth is all suspended As the King comes thro' the gate.

“O the King is coming, — The King is coming. — I just heard the trumpets sounding — And now His face I see. — The King is coming, — The King is coming. — Praise God, He's coming for me.

“Happy faces line the hallways, — Those whose lives have been redeemed. — Broken homes that He has mended — Those from prison He has freed. — Little children and the aged, — Hand in hand stand all aglow, — Who were crippled, broken, ruined, — Clad in garments white as snow

“I can hear the chariots rumble. — I can see the marching throng. — The flurry of God's trumpets — Spells the end of sin and wrong. — Regal robes are now unfolding, — Heaven's grandstand's all in place. — Heaven's choir is now assembled, — Start to sing "Amazing Grace".

Because He Lives

On that first Easter morning, as dawn was breaking on a world that was forever changed, a special angel delivered a special message, a powerful message that is still vital today.

Luke 24:6. He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

I just praise the Lord that I know Jesus in a personal way and that I am saved.

Amid the anxieties of the global coronavirus, people need Jesus. He gives peace in these troubled times.

Because what the angel said is still true, "He is risen, He is not here!" To that, I say "Glory to God!" Do you need something from the living Christ? Seek Him.

Because He lives I can face tomorrow.
———————————————

“God sent His son, they called Him Jesus — He came to love, heal, and forgive. — He lived and died to buy my pardon, — An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

“Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. — Because He lives, All fear is gone. — Because I know He holds the future, — And life is worth the living just because He lives.

“How sweet to hold a newborn baby, — And feel the pride and joy he gives. — But greater still the calm assurance, — This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

“And then one day I’ll cross the river, — I’ll fight life’s final war with pain. — And then as death gives way to victory, — I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives.”
