I Will Serve Thee

 Colossians 3:23  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

[24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

We are challenged to live out our lives unto the Lord with genuine spiritual values.

As we do so, we are able to live a heavenly, holy, God-honoring life in this world.

I Will Serve Thee

I will serve Thee because I love Thee;   —   You have given life to me.    —

I was nothing before You found me,    —   You have given life to me.

Heartaches, broken pieces,    —   Ruined lives are why You died on Calvary.    —

Your touch was what I longed for,    —   You have given life to me.

Wonderful Words of Life

 John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

To receive Christ is to receive His Word. To receive His Word is to receive Him. His words are powerful and wonderful.

Wonderful Words of Life

Sing them over again to me,  — Wonderful words of life; — Let me more of their beauty see,    —   Wonderful words of life.    —   Words of life and beauty    —   Teach me faith and duty;

CHORUS:

Beautiful words, wonderful words,  — Wonderful words of life;    — Beautiful words, wonderful words, — Wonderful words of life.

Christ, the blessed One, gives to all    —   Wonderful words of life;    — Sinner, list to the loving call, — Wonderful words of life. — All so freely given,    —   Wooing us to heaven;

Sweetly echo the Gospel call,  — Wonderful words of life; —  Offer pardon and peace to all,    —   Wonderful words of life.    —   Jesus, only Savior,    —   Sanctify forever;

If We Never Meet Again

 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

This scripture consoles many believers who have lost loved ones, knowing Jesus will bring them with Him when He comes to get us.

I’m pretty sure I’ll never meet again many in my past who read this blog, but I’ll be looking for you in Heaven. Won’t that be great!

If We Never Meet Again

__________________________

Soon we'll come to the end of life's journey,    —    And perhaps we'll never meet any more,    —    Till we gather in Heaven's bright city    —    Far away on that beautiful shore.

CHORUS:

If we never meet again this side of Heaven    —    As we struggle through this world and it's strife,    —    There's another meeting place somewhere in Heaven    —    By the side of the river of life.    —    Where the charming roses bloom forever  —  And where separations come no more.  —  If we never meet again this side of Heaven    —    I will meet you on that beautiful shore.

O, so often we’re parted with sorrow,    —    benedictions often quicken our pain,    —    but we never shall sorrow in Heaven,    —    God be with you till we meet again.

Oh, they say we shall meet by the river,    —    Where no storm clouds ever darken the sky,    —    And they say we'll be happy in Heaven    —

In the wonderful sweet by and by.    —

I’m Bound For The Kingdom

 John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Like many believers, I find hope for the future and comfort for the present in these scriptures.

One of my favorites to play on the piano.

I’m Bound For The Kingdom

You may ask me where I'm headed;     —   you may ask me where I'm bound.     —   Well, I'm going to a country 'cross the sea.     —   And I know I'll have a mansion,     —   and I know I'll have a crown  —   Well, I'm bound for the Kingdom of the free.

Chorus

Yes, I'm bound for the Kingdom of the blessed and the free; — And my Jesus soon is coming after me.    —   There is nothing to compare with the glory over there,     —   Yes, I'm bound for the Kingdom of the free.

Well, I'm going to a country where they say we'll never die; — Twill be endless joy and glory there for me.    —   Yes, I know I'll live forever in that city in the sky.     —   Well, I'm bound for the Kingdom of the free.

Heaven’s Jubilee

 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I can’t wait!

Heaven’s Jubilee

__________________________

Some glad morning we shall see Jesus in the air,    —    Coming after you and me, joy is ours to share.    —    What rejoicing there will be, when the saints shall rise,    —    Headed for that jubilee, yonder in the skies.

CHORUS:

Oh what singing, Oh what shouting,    —    On that happy morning when we all shall rise.    —    Oh what glory, Hallelujah!  —      —    When we meet our blessed Savior in the skies.

Seems that now I almost see, all the sainted dead,    —    Rising for that jubilee, that is just ahead.    —    In the twinkling of an eye, changed with them to be,    —    All the living saints to fly, to that jubilee.

When with all that heavenly host, we begin to sing,    —    Singing in the Holy Ghost, how the heavens will ring.    —    Millions there will join the song, with them we shall be    —    Praising Christ through ages long, heaven's jubilee.

The Solid Rock

 Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

[25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Spiritual Rock builders hear the Word of God, the Gospel, and make it the foundation for their lives, proving they love the Lord.

They sacrifice, they work, they do anything to honor the Lord.

1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

The Solid Rock

______________________

My hope is built on nothing less   —   than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;   —   I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

CHORUS:

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;   —   All other ground is sinking sand,   —   All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,   —   I rest on His unchanging grace;   —   In every high and stormy gale,   —   My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood   —   Support me in the whelming flood; — When all around my soul gives way,   —   He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound, — Oh, may I then in Him be found;   —   Dressed in His righteousness alone,   —   Faultless to stand before the throne.

Jesus Loves Me

 Ephesians 3:17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

[18] May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

[19] And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

When Satan tells me that Jesus doesn’t love me, I sing this song, and sometimes go to the piano with it.

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me! This I know, —  For the Bible tells me so;  —  Little ones to Him belong;  —  They are weak, but He is strong.

CHORUS:

Yes, Jesus loves me!   —    Yes, Jesus loves me!   —    Yes, Jesus loves me!   —    The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know,   —    As He loved so long ago,   —    Taking children on His knee, —  Saying, “Let them come to Me.”

Jesus loves me! He will stay — Close beside me on my way; —  He’s prepared a home for me, —  And someday His face I’ll see.

Beyond The Sunset

 Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The thought of Heaven has sustained the saint of God for centuries.

Just knowing that there is a place of endless glory and blessing ahead is enough to give us “joy unspeakable and full of glory.”.

Beyond the sunset,    —   O blissful morning,   —   When with our Savior   —   Heav'n is begun.   —   Earth's toiling ended,   —   O glorious dawning;   —   Beyond the sunset   —   When day is done.

Beyond the sunset,   —   No clouds will gather,   —   No storms will threaten, — No fears annoy; — O day of gladness, — O day unending,   —   Beyond the sunset,   —   Eternal Joy.

Beyond the sunset,   —   A hand will guide me   —   To God, the Father, — Whom I adore; —His glorious presence, — His words of welcome,   —   Will be my portion   —   On that fair shore.

Beyond the sunset,   —   O glad reunion,   —   With our dear loved ones   —   Who've gone before;   —   In that fair homeland   — We'll know no parting, — Beyond the sunset — For evermore.
