Glory And Honor

When the nations are gone and the saints fill Heaven, that lofty place will ring with His praises.
Revelation 4:10-11 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

It’s amazing that a God like ours would even condescend to look into the things that take place on the earth.

Yet, His eye is on the sparrow and the very hairs of our heads are numbered. Surely, His glory is a constant theme for praise.

Psalm 113:5-6 Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth.

God Still Hears And Cares

Have we ever been guilty of saying the following?

“God doesn't care.”  Oh, but He does. 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

“God doesn't hear.”  Oh, but He does.” Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

“God isn't even there.” Oh, but He is.”  Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Instead of doubting the Lord, we need to take God at His Word. It’s foolish to forget God in the middle of our trouble. He is still God no matter what we face in life.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Jesus Is Coming

Does the thought of the Lord’s coming comfort your heart? It sure does mine.
“1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

Paul is telling us to remind one another that this life with all its pains, sorrows and problems is merely temporary. He tells us to find our hope, our comfort and our encouragement in the coming of Jesus.

That comforts my heart. How about you?

God Is Great. God Is Good

Thank God for His perfect Word and the promises therein.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

All of us fear about something at some time or other. We don’t have to fear about anything when the Lord—Creator of Heaven and earth—is with us and He always is. That encourages me.

God tells us not to be dismayed because He is our God and He will strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with the right hand of His righteousness.

That’s all I need to know.

God is great. God is good.

God’s Little Flock

Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

It thrills my heart that my Heavenly Father in His good pleasure hands us the kingdom and gives us the opportunity to join Him in His work here below.

When we put Him first in our lives and attend to the business He called us to, we are amazed how He supplies our needs and blesses us.

I love belonging to God’s “Little Flock”, because the Lord is the Shepherd of the “Flock”. So what’s to worry? What’s to fear?

God, like a loving Father, places everything we need at our feet. He makes it easy for His children to serve Him, especially when we have a spiritual, intimate, relationship with Him.

I Have Never Walked Alone

A person can go through just about anything if they have the Lord with them.

Moses spent forty years in the desert and forty more leading the Israelites, but He was never alone. Many early chapters in the Bible begin with “The Lord spoke to Moses”.

There are times when you will walk alone, as far as human companionship is concerned, but if you are saved—born again—redeemed by the blood of Jesus— you will never walk alone.

Sending His disciples out to spread the gospel, Jesus assures them of His presence.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This promise is to all believers. Jesus is always with us—in the good and the bad—and He always understands.

I have never walked alone, and a song with that title will be played at my funeral some day.

Who Is Going To Help?

Back in the days of WWII, the Germans were bombing London all night, every night. After one terrible attack, the people of London began to search through the rubble looking for the dead and the injured.

After a while, all had been accounted for but one old grandmother, a Mrs. Smith. They searched everywhere for her and finally someone found her asleep in her bed.

Shocked, they asked her, “Mrs. Smith, how could you sleep with all those bombs dropping?”

Her answer is priceless. “Well, the Bible says that ‘He who keeps Israel never slumbers nor sleeps. I decided there was no use in both of us staying up, so I just went to sleep and left it in the Lord’s hands.”

Psalm 121:4,7 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. . . . The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

Who is going to help you when troubles, trials and problems overwhelm your heart, mind and soul?

The Lord is, and He is the only One Who can!
