Wait On The Lord

We are far better off to wait on the Lord to bring those things into our lives that He knows are best for us. I tend to run ahead of Him.

Am I the only one who makes plans without checking with the will of God?  Am I the only one who sometimes makes a mess and expects the Lord to bail me out?

Perhaps we all do. When we learn to wait on the Lord, to pray about the Lord’s will in all we do, we are well on our way to victory in our problems and the Christian life.

Thank God for His loving grace.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord .

The Mountain Of Disappointment

Is there a mountain of disappointment looming in front of you?
Do you find yourself looking back more often than looking ahead, making fruitless and foolish comparisons? Maybe you feel like saying, “What's the use, I give up?”

The Israelites were disappointed and discouraged as they worked to rebuild Soloman’s dbeautiful temple which now lay in rubble from the Babylonian invasion. The prophet Haggai writes to encourage them.

Haggai 2:4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts:

How will you get past your mountain? Do what these verses teach and “Let go, Look up, Look Ahead, and Get to God’s Work”. Don't let anyone side track you, derail you, or stop you.

If you can do that—and God will help you—you will see your mountain of discouragement and disappointment evaporate into nothing.

Only Believe

Calming a raging sea, freeing a man possessed by devils, and healing a woman with a terminal illness are only a few hopeless situation turned to victory as Jesus passed by.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

One day Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, desperately sought Jesus. Humbling himself at His feet he cried, “My little girl is dying. Please, come quickly.”

On the way Jesus stopped to comfort and heal a woman who touched His garment with faith.  As Jairus patiently waits, word comes that his daughter is dead.

Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

Moved with compassion by the grief in this home, Jesus calls the little girl’s spirit back into her body. As she jumps out of bed and runs to her mother, mourners are speechless.

When death, sickness, sorrow, marital problems, financial trouble or any hopeless situation comes; you need a faith that rests in Jesus and in His power alone.

Place your problem beside the Lord, and it suddenly grows very small. It’s nothing compared to the Creator of the universe. Be not afraid. Only believe.

Crossing The Jordan

The river was over a mile wide and there were two million people to cross. They couldn't build a bridge and there were no boats. But God had a plan.

God said, "When the feet of the priests enter Jordan, I am going to part the waters and lead you through on the dry ground!" It took a step of faith for.them to step in.

Joshua 3:17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

The God who did this great thing for Israel is still the same God we serve. What He did then, He can do now.

His plan required faith on the part of His people. Faith honors God and God honors faith.

When we turn loose of the reigns of our problem and let the Lord have it, He will fix it for His glory.

Do you have a problem? Give it to Jesus.

God Knows, God Cares

Sometimes there are storms that darken the way. Sometimes there are burdens that are hard to carry.
Other times there are sorrows and troubles that seem to hide the face of the God.
Don’t be deceived into thinking that the Lord doesn’t know or that He doesn’t care.

God knows everything that you are into today, and He will get you through it.

Jeremiah 29:11,13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. . . . . And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

If God knows all about it then it must be part of His plan for your life. If that is true, and it is, accept it and trust Him to bring you safely through.

That I May Know Him

The Apostle Paul was a tremendous soul winner and preacher of the Word. Some may think he had arrived  but Paul knew the truth. He was still working his passion—to know more of Christ.
Philippians 3:8,9,10 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

[9] And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

What blessed scripture to take to heart beginning tomorrow, January 1, 2019—to know Christ better.

Focusing on Jesus every day through prayer and reading His Word will keep us in the right direction to our fullest potential for the glory of God next year.

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus—look full in His wonderful face,—and the things of earth will grow strangely dim,—in the light of His glory and grace."  —-Helen Hogarth Lemmel 1922.

You Don’t Have To Fear

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I wlll strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Every person goes through times of depression and distress, Job 14:1; Job 5:7.

God specializes in lifting the fallen and strengthening the weak - Paul. 2 Cor. 12:7-10.  Think about the times He has lifted you.

The presence of the Lord Is powerful. His presence has the power to drive away fear.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Don’t let fear overwhelm you. Trust the promises of the Lord. He loves you.
