Leave It There

1 Peter 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Jesus cares about your burden.

He wants you to take it to Him in prayer and leave it there — don’t pick it up again.

Leave It There

__________________________

If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold,  —  And you have to get along with meager fare,  —  Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird.  —  Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

CHORUS:

Leave it there, leave it there,    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there;    —    If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out.    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,  —  And your soul is almost sinking in despair;  —  Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal — Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

When your enemies assail and your heart begins to fail,    —    Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer;    —    He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

When your youthful days are gone and old age is stealing on, —  And your body bends beneath the weight of care;  —  He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end.  —  Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Charles A. Tindley  1916

God Leads Us Along

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God fulfilled this promise to Israel when they crossed the Red Sea, the Jordan River, and when the three Hebrew Children walked through the fire unburned.

It also has a marvelous spiritual application for all of God’s children in all times.

Sometimes we have fearful “deep water” experiences where we can’t touch the bottom, but be assured that God is going through it with us and will deliver us.

God Leads Us Along

In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,    —   God leads His dear children along;    —   Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,    —   God leads His dear children along.

CHORUS:

Some through the waters, some through the flood,    —   Some through the fire, but all through the blood;    —   Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,    —   In the night season and all the day long.

Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,   —   God leads His dear children along;  —  Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,  —  God leads His dear children along.

Though sorrows befall us and Satan oppose,  —  God leads His dear children along;  —  Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,    —   God leads His dear children along.

Away from the mire, and away from the clay,    —   God leads His dear children along;    —   Away up in glory, eternity’s day,    —   God leads His dear children along.

Wonderful Peace

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Lord promises to keep the heart and mind of those who trusts Him with the needs of life.

Instead of worrying yourself sick about things you can't change, learn to lean on the Lord in prayer.

Wonderful Peace

Far away in the depths of my spirit tonight   —    Rolls a melody sweeter than psalm;  —  In celestial-like strains it unceasingly falls  —   O’er my soul like an infinite calm.

CHORUS:

Peace, peace, wonderful peace,   —    Coming down from the Father above!   —    Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray   —    In fathomless billows of love!

What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace,  —  Buried deep in the heart of my soul; — So secure that no power can mine it away —  While the years of eternity roll!

I am resting tonight in this wonderful peace, —  Resting sweetly in Jesus’ control; — For I’m kept from all danger by night and by day, — And His glory is flooding my soul!

And I think when I rise to that city of peace,   —    Where the Author of peace I shall see;   —    That one strain of the song which the ransomed will sing   —    In that heavenly kingdom will be:

O soul, are you here without comfort and rest,   —    Marching down the rough pathway of time?   —    Make Jesus your friend ere the shadows grow dark; — OH, accept this sweet peace so sublime!

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not

[23] They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Regardless of what life sends our way, we can be confident that the Lord will give us the necessary strength to face it.  Isa. 43:1-2.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;    —    There is no shadow of turning with Thee.    —    Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not.  —  As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

CHORUS:

Great is Thy faithfulness!  —  Great is Thy faithfulness!  —  Morning by morning, new mercies I see;  —  All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided. —  Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,    —    Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,  —  Join with all nature in manifold witness —  To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,  —  Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide    —    Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,    —    Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

Tell it to Jesus

Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

God wants us in His presence talking to Him about every matter of life, Heb. 4:16; Matt. 7:7-11; 1 Thes. 5:17.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Tell it to Jesus

Are you weary, are you heavy-hearted?    —   Tell it to Jesus, Tell it to Jesus.    —   Are you grieving over joys departed?    —   Tell it to Jesus alone.

CHORUS:

Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus, — He is a friend that’s well-known.  —   You’ve no other such a friend or brother,    —   Tell it to Jesus alone.

Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden?    —   Tell it to Jesus. Tell it to Jesus.  —  Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden?  —  Tell it to Jesus alone.

Do you fear the gath’ring clouds of sorrow?    —   Tell it to Jesus.  Tell it to Jesus;    —   Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow?    —   Tell it to Jesus alone.

Are you troubled at the thought of dying?    —   Tell it to Jesus.  Tell it to Jesus.    —   For Christ’s coming kingdom are you sighing?    —   Tell it to Jesus alone.

God Will Take Care of You

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Worry about nothing; pray about everything.

Take it to the Lord in prayer and leave it there—don’t pick it up again.

God Will Take Care of You

Be not dismayed whate’er betide,— God will take care of you; — Beneath His wings of love abide,  —  God will take care of you.

CHORUS:

God will take care of you,—Through every day, o’er all the way; — He will take care of you, — God will take care of you.

Through days of toil when heart doth fail, — God will take care of you; —    When dangers fierce your path assail, —  God will take care of you.

All you may need He will provide, — God will take care of you; — Nothing you ask will be denied,  —  God will take care of you.

No matter what may be the test, — God will take care of you; —  Lean, weary one, upon His breast, — God will take care of you.

It Won’t Be Very Long

2 Corinthians 5:1-2 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

[2] For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

Believers have a house eternal in the heavens.

This body of ours will be sown a natural body, but it will be raised a spiritual body, a perfect body.

Until then, I groan in my worn out, diseased body.

I can’t wait to have a new one.

It Won’t Be Very Long

_______________________

It won't be very long till this short life shall end.    —   It won't be very long till Jesus shall descend;    —   And then the dead in Christ from beds of clay shall rise    —   To meet the Lord and King up yonder in the skies.

CHORUS:

It won't be very long, it won't be very long    —   Till Jesus shall appear, the day is drawing near.    —   Will you be ready then to meet the ransomed throng?    —   Get ready for that day, it won't be very long.

It won't be very long till here we cease to roam.    —   It won't be very long till all the saints get home;    —   And then with smiling face we'll walk the streets of gold — and sing the Savior's praise where saints are never old.

It won't be very long till burdens we lay down.    —   It won't be very long till we'll receive a crown;    —   And then we'll shout and sing with angels round the throne,    —   And when we meet up there, we'll know as we are known.

It won't be very long till earth shall pass away.    —   It won't be very long till works of men decay.    —   But Jesus has prepared a happy dwelling place    —   For all who look above and trust His matchless grace.

Rev. Morgan Williams
