The Comforting Arms Of Jesus

There are times in life that seem almost unbearable, except for the presence of Jesus.
Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

In the darkest of times the Lord will show up and wrap His comforting arms around us, because we are His children and are precious to Him.

I’m glad we can know that nothing in life that we face will be greater than His ability to see us through.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. . . . .

Why Did Jesus Need To Pray?

Why did Jesus need to pray? He was God in the flesh. He prayed because He wanted a totally unhindered fellowship with the Father, His presence and His power.
Mark 1:34-35 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

He must have prayed for the people who had been healed—that they would see beyond the miracles and be saved. He must have prayed for His disciples, that they would be men of God. He prays for us.

If Jesus—God in human flesh—felt the need to pray, how much more do we need to make prayer a priority in our lives?

With humility and adoration we need to seek the will of God. We need to confess any sin in our lives. We need to be thankful for blessings and answered prayers.

We need to tell Him our needs and pray for the needs of others. We need to believe He hears and answers our prayer.

Prayer is essential for a holy, empowered and blessed spiritual life.

When The Lord Delivers

When total faith is placed in Almighty God, even a prison of trouble can become a place of peace and safety. Peter was sleeping so soundly in prison, he missed the light and had to be hit to wake up.
Acts 12:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

Isn’t it a delight when God comes through and delivers us from the trials of life? That’s His business.

When God is allowed to work in your life and mine, He will deliver us in His way and He will get the glory.

Allow Him right of way in your life. You will be blessed and He will be glorified.

Prayer Changes Things

Prayer is far more than taking your prayer list to the Lord.
Prayer is entering into a conversation with God—the Holy God of the universe. I’m compelled to worship and adore Him before telling Him what’s on my heart.

The Lord has given us some pretty awesome promises in the arena of prayer.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Prayer has the potential to change any situation.

Perfect Peace

As we believers face all the things that will come our way in this life, we can know that we always have the precious Holy Spirit in us to guide us, to teach us, to constantly remind us of the awesome love of God for His children, Romans 8:9.
He makes the trip bearable. He makes the destination believable.

If we will but learn to rest in the Spirit of God, He has the power to keep our hearts in perfect peace regardless of how difficult the way becomes,

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee : because he trusteth in thee.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Great is the faith that can stand amid the wreckage of life and declare the praises of God. Jeremiah was that kind of believer.
He was hated, imprisoned, and hungry. He endured the horrors of war as Jerusalem was destroyed and it’s people taken captive, yet he praised God.

He knew that whether things went well or fell apart, God would still be God and would be eternally faithful to His people.

Lamentations 3:22-25 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

God will never fail those who place their trust in Him,  Psa.119:89-90; Isa. 40:8.

He knows where you are today.  He knows what you are going through, Job 23:10. He will not forsake you. He will faithfully keep you and bring you out in His time, Psa. 34:15-22.

Grace And Glory

1 Kings 17:3-4  Get thee hence,  and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

Thousands of years before Elijah needed a drink of cool, clear water, the finger of God traced out the path of this little brook.
It may seem the Lord isn't moving in your need, that He is going to leave you to twist in the breeze.
Truth is, God met your need before it happened. In His own way and His own time you will know. He’s an amazing God.

Your duty is to be patient and faithful to the Lord, to do His will for your life. He will take care of you.

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
