Beulah Land

Many things in life have not gone as we planned, and we know what sorrow is all about.

But, thank God, when we leave this world, whether it be by the rapture or the graveyard, there are some things that can’t go with us.

Revelation 21:4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Beulah Land

I'm kind of homesick for a country —   To which I've never been before. —   No sad goodbyes will there be spoken —   For time won't matter anymore.

Chorus:

Beulah Land, I'm longing for you, —   And some day on thee I'll stand. —   There my home shall be eternal. —   Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land.

I'm looking out across the river, —   To where my faith shall end in sight. —   There's just a few more days to labor, —   Then I will take my heavenly flight.

Joy Unspeakable

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

As we weather the storms of life and see God come through time and again, we can actually learn to develop a spirit of praise.

We find that our unseen Savior sees us through every trial.

He ever abides with his own.

He will never leave us nor forsake us - Heb. 13:5;

His grace is always sufficient for every need - 2 Cor. 12:9.

This ought to cause us to be filled with that unspeakable joy full of glory.

Joy Unspeakable

I have found His grace is all complete,   —    He supplieth every need;   —    While I sit and learn at Jesus’ feet,   —    I am free, yes, free indeed.

Chorus:

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,   —    Full of glory, full of glory;   —    It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,   —    Oh, the half has never yet been told.

I have found the pleasure I once craved,   —    It is joy and peace within;   —    What a wondrous blessing, I am saved   —    From the awful gulf of sin.

I have found that hope so bright and clear,   —    Living in the realm of grace;   —    Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near,   —   I can see His smiling face.

I have found the joy no tongue can tell,   —   How it’s waves of glory roll.   —   It is like a great o’erflowing well,   —   Springing up within my soul.

Surely Goodness And Mercy

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

We are assured that goodness and mercy will be our constant companions along the way home to glory.

We will always be blessed with grace sufficient for the need, 2 Cor. 12:9.

There is nothing in life that we can face that will be greater than God’s ability to see us through.

You see, we are following One Who plans and knows the way, Psa. 37:23; Job 23:10.

Surely Goodness And Mercy

A pilgrim was I and a-wand’ring,   —    In the cold night of sin I did roam.   —    When Jesus, the kind Shepherd, found me,   —    And now I am on my way home.

Chorus:

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me   —    All the days, all the days of my life.   —    Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me   —    All the days, all the days of my life.

He restoreth my soul when I’m weary;   —    He giveth me strength day by day.   —    He leads me beside the still waters;   —    He guards me each step of the way.

When I walk through the dark, lonesome valley,   —    My Savior will walk with me there;   —    And safely His great hand will lead me   —    To the mansions He’s gone to prepare.

And I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever;   —    And I’ll feast at the table spread for me.   —    Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me   —    All the days, all the days of my life.

Redeemed

 Psalm 107:2  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

I’m so glad I believed in Jesus. I was doomed to die for my sins, but He redeemed  me.

Believers are headed to Heaven, because the Lord Jesus took our place on the cross,

That’s enough to praise Him for all eternity.

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!   —    Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;   —    Redeemed through His infinite mercy,   —    His child and forever I am.

Chorus:

Redeemed, redeemed,   —    Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;  —  Redeemed, redeemed, —  His child and forever I am.

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,   —    No language my rapture can tell;   —    I know that the light of His presence   —    With me doth continually dwell.

I think of my blessed Redeemer,   —    I think of Him all the day long:   —    I sing, for I cannot be silent;   —    His love is the theme of my song.

I know I shall see in His beauty   —    The King in whose law I delight;   —    Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,   —    And giveth me songs in the night.

Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me

Psalm 31:3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

One of my favorite saying is, “Life is hard, but God is good”.

That’s why we need Jesus to guide us. We don’t know the way, but He does.

As Author of Heaven and Earth and humans and animals and everything else;  He is qualified.

Psalm 23:3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me

Jesus, Savior, pilot me,   —    Over life’s tempestuous sea;   —    Unknown waves before me roll,   —    Hiding rock and treach’rous shoal;   —    Chart and compass came from Thee:   —    Jesus, Savior, pilot me.

As a mother stills her child,   —    Thou canst hush the ocean wild;   —    Boist’rous waves obey Thy will   —    When Thou say’st to them, “Be still!”   —   Wondrous Sov’reign of the sea,   —    Jesus, Savior, pilot me.

When at last I near the shore,   —    And the fearful breakers roar   —    ’Twixt me and the peaceful rest,   —    Then, while leaning on Thy breast,   —    May I hear Thee say to me,   —    “Fear not, I will pilot thee.”

All The Way My Savior Leads Me

Thank the Lord Jesus for His guidance and strength all the way through life.

Fanny Crosby gives examples of places and feelings in which her Savior led her gracefully.

He will lead us the same way as we let Him.

Psalm 23:3 . . . . he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psalm 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

All The Way My Savior Leads Me

All the way my Savior leads me,    —    What have I to ask beside?    —    Can I doubt His tender mercy,    —    Who through life has been my Guide?    —    Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,    —    Here by faith in Him to dwell!    —    For I know, whate’er befall me,    —    Jesus doeth all things well;    —    For I know, whate’er befall me,    —    Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,    —    Cheers each winding path I tread,    —    Gives me grace for every trial,    —    Feeds me with the living Bread.    —    Though my weary steps may falter    —    And my soul athirst may be,    —    Gushing from the Rock before me,    —    Lo! A spring of joy I see;    —    Gushing from the Rock before me,    —    Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,    —    Oh, the fullness of His love!    —    Perfect rest to me is promised    —    In my Father’s house above.    —    When my spirit, clothed immortal,    —    Wings its flight to realms of day    —    This my song through endless ages:    —    Jesus led me all the way;    —    This my song through endless ages:    —    Jesus led me all the way.

Fanny J. Crosby. 1875

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Not knowing the future can be quite worrisome, especially where our health, our country, or our family is concerned.

A devastating divorce followed by depression is the story behind Iris Stanphill’s song, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow”.

That song has led me many times to trust the Lord for the future, because He knows it and will hold my hand through it regardless of the outcome.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

[6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

_______________________________

I don't know about tomorrow; — I just live from day to day. — I don't borrow from it's sunshine   —   For it's skies may turn to grey.   —   I don't worry o'er the future,   —   For I know what Jesus said.   —   And today I'll walk beside Him,   —   For He knows what is ahead.

Chorus:

Many things about tomorrow  —  I don't seem to understand  —  But I know who holds tomorrow   —   And I know who holds my hand.

Every step is getting brighter   —   As the golden stairs I climb;   —   Every burden's getting lighter,   —   Every cloud is silver-lined.   —   There the sun is always shining,   —   There no tear will dim the eye;   —   At the ending of the rainbow   —   Where the mountains touch the sky.

I don't know about tomorrow;   —   It may bring me poverty.   —   But the one who feeds the sparrow,   —   Is the one who stands by me.   —   And the path that is my portion   —   May be through the flame or flood;   —   But His presence goes before me   —   And I'm covered with His blood.

Ira F. Stanphill 1950
