What A Powerful God We Serve!

Imagine seeing God part the Red Sea and drop manna food from  heaven every day for forty years. Imagine seeing Him defeat all your enemies. The  God we serve did it for Israel and He displays that kind of power for His Saints today

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Many believers forget the power of God. It’s sad because they live their lives defeated and discouraged. It doesn’t have to be that way. The Lord recently brought me through some issues like only He can. He smoothed out the bumps that frightened me. God is good.

We can trust Jesus for everything in our lives. We have a God who has demonstrated His power, His grace, His love and His character many times over.  If our faith is resting in Christ, we are as strong as He is.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them , and ye shall have them.

Bring you doubts, your fears and your questions and lay them to rest at the feet of Jesus

Fellowship In The Gospel

The Apostle Paul wrote many letter to churches in the first century. While they contain blessings and help for each church they also rebuke and correct. But the letter to the church in Philippi didn’t rebuke and correct. They always supported Paul in prayer, fellowship and  financial support, and he never forgot their ministry of love.

Philippians 1:3-5  I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

How is our fellowship in the gospel? The place our fellow believers hold in our hearts reveals a great deal about where we stand with the Lord. Do we dwell on unkind words? Maybe a believer rubs us the wrong way.

If we want to have  “fellowship in the gospel” I suggest we restudy the fruit of the Spirit and ask the Lord to help us to produce that fruit.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Fellowship And Unity

It’s never right for God’s people to be at odds with one another. We are commanded in the Holy Bible to walk in unity, openness and humility--to love as Jesus loved.

Ephesians 4:2-3  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

This calls for self-denial, humility, mutual concern and unity.

God saved each believer and made them different (created in Christ Jesus). We should be thankful for His grace, active in His work, and obedient to His voice.

Perhaps we should work on unity, see the unlovely as God sees them. How about forgiveness?

How can the Spirit bond us in peace if we are at odds with one another?

Philippians 2:1-2  If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,  Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

If My People

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

One of the problems with the modern church today is that many of God’s people are so fragmented in devotions that they don’t put God  first  in their  lives. They shun His Lordship. They don’t study His Word thoroughly as they should. Some of them sin.

This is a  call to purity, to prayer and repentance. God wants His people to examine their lives and identify anything that doesn’t please Him.

We hate what sin is doing to our homes, our churches and our nation! Would to God that His people would get a real vision of what He can do for us and through us. We need a  revival.

Notice that the condition and the promise are given to "God's people". When and if the refreshing comes it will reach the entire nation.

Lord, heal our land.
