Get To Jesus

A dying woman with an issue of blood heard about Jesus. She believed with all her heart that if she could just get to Him, He would heal her disease.

On the way to heal the daughter of a man named Jairus, Jesus is surrounded by a great crowd of people, jostling against Him from every side.

The woman with the issue of blood, poor and weak and timid as she was, managed to push and shove her way through the crowd. Exhausted and desperate, she crawled until she could reach out and touch the hem of His garment. Instantly, she was healed.

Many touched Jesus that day, but only one touched Him with the fingers of faith.

If you have a need, get to Jesus. Believe that only He can help you. He wants you to come to Him.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Quietness And Confidence

Raymond Edman said this in a book called Quietness and Confidence,
"First, He brought me here, it is by His will I am in this strait place: in that fact I will rest.

Next, He will keep me here in His love, and give me the grace to behave as His child.

Then, He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me lessons He intends for me to learn, and working in me the grace He means to bestow.

Last, in His good time He can bring me out again--how and when He knows.

Let me say I am here—By God's appointment—In His keeping—Under His training—For His time."

That’s the kind of confidence that will let you shout in the devil's face, even while the storm still rages.

Job 1:20-21 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, “Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

The Delays Of Life

We can’t see what God is doing behind the scenes. Sometimes it appears that He is taking His time when we want Him to move swiftly.
The delays of life are designed to increase our faith.

You take a Joseph and throw him in a pit, then into slavery, then into prison—and out of that delay, God will give you the Prime Minister of Egypt and a man of God.

When God doesn’t move as quickly as you might like, trust Him anyway.

Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Jesus Prayed For Us

I’m glad Jesus took the time to pray for us before He went to the cross to die for us.
I’m ever so glad that most of His prayer is about that which will be done for us and in us.

But part of His prayer— the satisfaction, the sanctification, the separation, the unity and the love are dependent on us being willing to yield to His will for our lives—to be one with Jesus and The Father, to be intimate with them. That is awesome!

John 17:22-23 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

When we consecrate our life to God, our light will shine in a dark world, and they will see the love of Jesus through us.

Has His prayer been answered in your life?

Fear And Discouragement

If you know the Lord, you don’t have to live with fear and discouragement.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Lift your heart to God and allow the Holy Spirit to help you to overcome fear and discouragement.

The Spirit of God will give you a spirit of love and with that comes a sound mind.

Just like the Shepherd in Psalm 23, He ever abides with his own. When we face trials, He goes through them with us.

I’m glad the Lord is my Shepherd. He will never leave us nor forsake us - Heb. 13:5; His grace is always sufficient for every need - 2 Cor. 12:9.

This ought to cause us to praise Him.

I’m Still Here, Fear Not

The Israelites in captivity seem sure the glory days of the past are gone, even the God who blessed them.
But God reminds them that He was with them when they crossed the Red Sea, gave them food and water in the desert, and the Holy Cloud and fire to lead them on their journey.

Haggai 2:5. According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remains among you: fear ye not.

He is saying, “Abraham is gone. Moses is gone. David is gone. Solomon is gone. The first beautiful Temple is gone. But I am still here. Fear not.”

Far too often we get caught up in “old time” yesterday, forgetting that the God of yesterday is still here and just as ready to bless today as He did years ago.

Our main concern is to forget the past and reach forth to the future, Phil. 3:13, to do the Lord’s work. He will meet with us and bless us for His glory. Heb. 12:1-2.

Prayer

Praying to God is not a sign of weakness but a demonstration of power.
The real weakling is that person who thinks he can handle things himself.

Prayer is the Christian's greatest resource. It opens the bank of Heaven and unlocks that power of God in our lives.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.

Use it liberally. Jesus promised to hear us.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
