Drying Tears

I’m glad that every thing that troubles us here on earth won’t  be allowed to follow us to Heaven.

When our earthly journey ends we’ll be safely at home in the Father’s house -- a place of peace, safety and perfection.

Revelation 21:3-4a.  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; . . . .

Imagine a God so vast and awesome wiping away your tears. He knows all about them.

Did you know He’s drying tears today..

Believers have something to look forward to. Life gets better.

Want Something From God?

Do we desire something of the Lord?  Money?  Healing?  Peace?  Answered Prayers?  Most of us have a need or a worry.  Oh, that we had a desire like David.

Psalm 27:4  One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

David wants that place of closeness and intimacy with the Lord. He wants to “behold the beauty of the Lord” -- to “seek His face.” That’s a worthy goal for believers.

Our commitment to God provides hope in the day of our battles. As we linger near Him; love Him and lean on Him through prayer and study of His Word,  we can be assured that He will see to our needs and worries.

The Preaching Of The Cross

The preaching of the cross  is a strange message to those who have never experienced the life-changing power it brings. Many think the idea of trusting a suffering, bleeding man for salvation is foolishness. That didn't stop the Apostle Paul from preaching.

1 Corinthians 1:17-18  For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The preaching of the cross is a shocking message.  The Jewel of Heaven -- scourged, beaten, spit upon, beard plucked out, mocked, and stripped naked;  was nailed to a cruel cross (tortured) until he died. Thank God that three days later he arose from the grave.

The message of the cross is a simple message.  Believe in Jesus and Him alone for salvation.  Accept by faith His blood  atonement for your sins. Nobody can earn salvation. It's a gift, given by the grace of God. Your sins are forgiven and forever forgotten. You are promised eternal life when you believe.

The cross is God's statement of love to the world - John 15:13.

Getting Saved

Since the dawn of time, man has been seeking redemption from his guilt and sins. Two ways have been used ---  works and/or faith.

Why seek Salvation at all?  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  No one can be good enough to gain salvation. They will always fall short. Thank God for Grace.

The Word of God says:  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord  (Romans 6:23).

Salvation is  the result of a lost sinner simply believing that Jesus is the Son of God and that His shed blood is sufficient to cleanse their sins.  How?

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Saving faith (getting saved- from judgement)  is simply coming to the place where one believes, with absolute conviction that everything the Bible says about Jesus is true. That’s it!

Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

The Mountain Top

Mountains occupy a special place in the Word of God.

Mark 9:2-4 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

It was on a mountain called Moriah that God gave grace to Abraham when he willingly offered up his son Isaac, Gen. 22.
It was on Mount Sinai that God handed down His Law to Moses, Ex. 19.
It was on Mount Carmel that God demonstrated His power to Israel through Elijah, 1 Kings 18.
It was on Mount Horeb that God ministered peace to the troubled heart of Elijah, 1 Kings 19.
It was on Mount Calvary that Jesus died for our sins on the cross, John 19.
It was from the Mount of Olives that Jesus ascended back into His heavenly glory, Acts 1:9-11.
It will be that same mountain that will greet His feet when He returns in glory, Zech. 14:4.
Every now and then we are blessed with a mountain top experience.

Though God Slay Me, Yet I'll Trust Him

Job lost just about everything – his family, his wealth, his health, and even his friends. He didn’t understand, yet he still believed in God.

Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

It finally dawned on him that the reason for his loss was bigger them Him. It wasn’t because he sinned or what he was accused of by his friends. It happened for the glory of God.

None of us get out of this world untouched by trouble. No matter what happens in your life or how you feel, never stop believing in the Lord. He can give you better things than those you might have lost. He restored more than Job’s losses.

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
