God Walks The Dark Hills

Psalm 91:5-6  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Chorus [6] Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

When we can’t see the light over our dark mountain, be assured that God is walking us through it  —  every step of the way.

We don’t have to be afraid.

God Walks The Dark Hills

God walks the dark hills,  —    The ways, the by ways.  —    He walks through the billows   —    Of life's troubled sea.  —    He walks through the cold dark night,  —    The shadows of midnight.  —    God walks the dark hills  —    Just to guide you and me

(CHORUS)

God walks the dark hills  —    To guide my footsteps.  —    He walks everywhere — By night and by day. —  He walks in the silence —  On down the highway.  —  God walks the dark hills  —  To show me the way.

God walks in the storm,  —    The rain and the sunshine.  —    He walks on the billows  —    On through glimmering light.  —    Helps us walk up the mountain so high,  —    Cross our rivers through valleys.  —    God walks the dark hills  —    'Cause He loves you and me.

Leave It There

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Do you ever face giants greater then yourself?  We all do.

We can learn from David, whose own son turned on him and his best friends tried to kill him.

He knew victory was in the Lord and so is our’s.

Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Leave It There

______________

If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold,    —    And you have to get along with meager fare,    —    Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

CHORUS:

Leave it there, leave it there,    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there;    —    If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out;    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,    —    And your soul is almost sinking in despair,    —    Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

When your youthful days are gone and old age is stealing on,    —    And your body bends beneath the weight of care;    —    He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end;    —    Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

We Shall Behold Him

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18   For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

In the face of the hopelessness that grips our world, the believer has hope.

Our hope to see Jesus is unshakable, profound, eternal and powerful.

It gives joy and peace to our hearts.

The sky shall unfold. preparing His entrance;    —    The stars shall applaud Him with thunders of praise.    —    The sweet light in His eyes, shall enhance those awaiting;    —    And we shall behold Him then face to face.

CHORUS:

And we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him  —  Face to face in all of His glory;  — O we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him  —  Face to face, our Savior and Lord.

The angel will sound the shout of His coming    —    The sleeping shall rise from their slum-ber-ing place;    —    And those who remain shall be changed in a moment;    —    And we shall behold Him then face to face.

Sweet Hour of Prayer

Psalm 66:20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

What a blessing to pray to the Creator.

To think that He pays close attention to

each one of us, ever hearing and answering

our prayers. What a blessing!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!    —    That calls me from a world of care,    —    And bids me at my Father’s throne    —    Make all my wants and wishes known.  —  In seasons of distress and grief,  —  My soul has often found relief, — And oft escaped the tempter’s snare, — By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!    —    The joys I feel, the bliss I share,  —  Of those whose anxious spirits burn    —    With strong desires for thy return!  —  With such I hasten to the place  —  Where God my Savior shows His face, —  And gladly take my station there, —  And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!    —    Thy wings shall my petition bear — To Him whose truth and faithfulness —  Engage the waiting soul to bless. — And since He bids me seek His face, —  Believe His Word and trust His grace, — I’ll cast on Him my every care — And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!    —    May I thy consolation share,    —    Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,    —    I view my home and take my flight. — This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise —  To seize the everlasting prize, — And shout, while passing through the air,   —   “Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

All The Way My Savior Leads Me

Psalm 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Jesus replaces our deadness with His life.

He melts the coldness of our hearts with the warmness of His embraces when we confess our sins.

He is ever with us, leading us in the path of righteousness.

All The Way My Savior Leads Me

All the way my Savior leads me, — What have I to ask beside? — Can I doubt His tender mercy,   —    Who through life has been my Guide?   —    Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort, —  Here by faith in Him to dwell! — For I know, whate’er befall me,  —  Jesus doeth all things well;  —  For I know, whate’er befall me,   —    Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me, — Cheers each winding path I tread, —   Gives me grace for every trial,   —    Feeds me with the living Bread.   —    Though my weary steps may falter   —    And my soul athirst may be,   —    Gushing from the Rock before me,   —    Lo! A spring of joy I see;   —    Gushing from the Rock before me,   —    Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,   —    Oh, the fullness of His love!   —   Perfect rest to me is promised   —    In my Father’s house above.   —    When my spirit, clothed immortal,   —    Wings its flight to realms of day   —    This my song through endless ages:   —    Jesus led me all the way;   —    This my song through endless ages:   —    Jesus led me all the way.

How Great Thou Art

Psalm 104:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

Honor and majesty and our salvation only touch what makes God great?

There’s the wonder of Creation and why in all His glory He would love people like you and me.

There’s His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and return for His Redeemed.

There is so much more in the Holy scriptures.

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,     —    Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;     —    I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,     —    Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

CHORUS:

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,    —    How great Thou art, How great Thou art.    —    Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,     —    How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,    —    And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.    —    When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur    —    And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. - - -

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;   —  Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;  —  That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,     —    He bled and died to take away my sin.- - -

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,     —    And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.    —    Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,     —    And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!" - - -

Amazing God

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

In my autumn years I can truly say that God has carried me through every flood and fire in my path.

Always with me, He has proven Himself amazing again and again.

The following song may not be well known, but it has helped me in troubled times and it’s my testimony.

Amazing God

______________

Do you want to hear the story of how I made it through,   —   When life was full of trouble, pain, and fear?    —   The answer may seem simple: - Though everything else crumbles,    —   One thing has remained through all the years.

CHORUS:

I still serve an amazing God,    —   He's been with me every mile my weary feet have trod;    —   He still cares, He still hears;    —   He's still mending broken hearts and drying tears;    —   This old world is bound to change,    —   But I'm glad I know the One who always stays the same,    —   And my song will ever be:    —   Amazing God, You're still amazing me.

The God who parted waters still makes a way today,    —   He's always brought me through the troubled seas.    —   The One who fed the thousands, whose words have calmned the tempest    —   He's my Bread of Life, and He's my Peace. - - -
