Amazing Grace

Noting our crippled spiritual condition, God looks upon us through the eyes of grace. He sees us exactly as we are but loves us anyway. He knows all about our past, our problems and our potential, yet He draws us to Him.

Do you remember how you came to Jesus with nothing and left with everything?  What grace!  What a great, wonderful, matchless, glorious Savior we have.

Maybe you've never asked Jesus to come into your heart to save you from your sins. Come just as you are and believe on Jesus.

When the grace of God fixes its gaze on one of the crippled ones of Adam’s race, it cares for nothing but fetching you. God's Grace is greater than all your sins. No wonder it’s called  “Amazing”.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The Way Up Is Down

This is a secret many people never learn. Before you are ever going to get anywhere with God you have to humble yourself in His presence. You have to get small before Him. You have to come to the place where He’s everything and you are nothing.

One of the greatest truths in the Bible is this: The way up is down.  This truth is made clear in the Word of God.

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

When we come to the place where we see our own inability and His ability, then we are in a position to receive what we need from Him.

Can God Use You?

If we get into the business of comparing ourselves with others,  we’re in for a rough ride. Many of us have personal characteristics that may make us feel that we can’t be used of God. God excels in taking the weak and foolish things of this world and using them in a great way.

1 Corinthians 1:26-27 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called : But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

God took old man Moses who had a speech impediment and used him as the arm of God. He used a young Jewish girl named Esther to save His people from slaughter. He used a young, unknown boy named David to be the greatest king to ever sit on the throne of Israel.

Can God use your life? Yes He can, but it must first be His to use.  Are you really saved?  Are you fully surrendered to His will? Let Him use you.

The Preaching Of The Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The message of the bloody cross of Jesus is still a strange message to those who have never experienced its life changing power. To them it’s "foolishness".

The death Christ died on the cross was one of absolute torture.  We can’t begin to imagine  the pain He was forced to endure  for our sake.

There’s only one way for you to get to God and that is by the way of the cross. There’s no salvation apart from faith in the work of Jesus on Calvary.

The preaching of the cross isn’t about you quitting your sins. It’s about you coming to Jesus by faith! It isn’t about turning over a new leaf, it's about placing your faith in Jesus and Him alone for salvation.

A Friend In High Places

When Jesus ascended back to Heaven the Bible tells us that He sat down at the right hand of God. His work of redeeming sinners was forever finished.  At the right hand of God, Jesus is our High Priest, making intercession for believers.

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Thank God for a Friend in High places!  Thank God for One Who pleads our case in the courtroom of glory.  He prays for us, and He’s our Advocate against the attacks of the enemy, That’s grace greater than we can imagine!

How Faith Grows

God gives you the faith you need to be saved. When we are saved the Holy Spirit, Who is the source of faith, comes to live within our hearts.

As we journey through life toward Heaven, He dispenses faith in proportion to that which we face. You see, faith is like a muscle. When it’s taken into the gym of life, it can do little in the beginning, but, as it’s exercised in the little things, day by day it grows considerably until it’s able to accomplish great things through Jesus. Now, how does one go about exercising faith?

Rom. 10:17.  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

As we hear the Word of God and take God at His word by faith, our faith grows stronger and stronger. But, in reality, it isn’t our faith that grows stronger, it's His faith within us that increases as we grow.

The Good Shepherd

John 10:14-15  I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep , and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

The sheep in a flock all look alike to the untrained eye, but a good shepherd can tell them apart. A man who was tending a large flock explained this to a Christian friend.

"See that sheep over there?" he asked. "Notice how it toes in a little. The one behind it has a squint; the next one has a patch of wool off its back; ahead is one with a distinguishing black mark, while the one closest to us has a small piece torn out of its ear."

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows His sheep. He knows everything there is to know about you.  He knows every strength and every weakness. He knows every joy and every burden. He knows every mountain and every valley. He knows every victory and every battle and He stands ready to help you in your times of need.

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
