Victory in Jesus

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The source of our victory is in Jesus.

When He came to this world, lived a perfect life, died on the cross and rose again from the dead, He defeated every enemy for us.

Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story, — How a Savior came from glory,— How He gave His life on Calvary —  To save a wretch like me; — I heard about His groaning, —  Of His precious blood's atoning,    —    Then I repented of my sins  and won the victory.

CHORUS:

O victory in Jesus,    —    My Savior, forever.    —    He sought me and bought me    —    With His redeeming blood;    —    He loved me ere I knew Him    —    And all my love is due Him,    —    He plunged me to victory,    —    Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,    —    Of His cleansing pow'r revealing.    —   How He made the lame to walk again    —    And caused the blind to see;  —  And then I cried, "Dear Jesus  —  Come and heal my broken spirit,"  —  And somehow Jesus came and bro't to me the victory.

I heard about a mansion  —  He has built for me in glory. — And I heard about the streets of gold  —  Beyond the crystal sea;  —  About the angels singing, — And the old redemption story, — And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.

My Savior First of All

 Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

“Looking for that blessed hope”—this is the next happening in the program of God: Christ is coming to take His church out of this world.

Glory!

Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

My Savior First of All

When my lifework is ended, and I cross the swelling tide, — When the bright and glorious morning I shall see;  —  I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side,  —  And His smile will be the first to welcome me.

CHORUS:

I shall know Him, I shall know Him, —  And redeemed by His side I shall stand, — I shall know Him, I shall know Him, — By the print of the nails in His hand.

Oh, the soul-thrilling rapture when I view His blessed face, — And the luster of His kindly beaming eye; —  How my full heart will praise Him for the mercy, love and grace,  —  That prepare for me a mansion in the sky.

Oh, the dear ones in glory, how they beckon me to come, —  And our parting at the river I recall; —  To the sweet vales of Eden they will sing my welcome home;  —   But I long to meet my Savior first of all.

Through the gates to the city in a robe of spotless white, —  He will lead me where no tears will ever fall;  —  In the glad song of ages I shall mingle with delight;  —  But I long to meet my Savior first of all.

Redemption Draweth Nigh

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Nobody knows the exact time Jesus will come for His children, but it’s closer now than ever.

Come, Lord Jesus. Come quickly.

Redemption Draweth Nigh

Years of time have come and gone  —  Since I first heard it told   —   How Jesus would come again some day.   —   If back then it seemed so real — Then I just can't help but feel  — How much closer His coming is today.

CHORUS:

Signs of the times are everywhere.   —   There's a brand new feeling in the air.— Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky.— Lift up your head redemption draweth nigh.

Wars and strife on every hand, — And violence fills the land, —    Still some people doubt He'll ever come again. — But the Word of God is true. — He'll redeem His chosen few. — Don't lose hope, soon Christ Jesus will descend.

Until Then

James 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

All the way through Scripture we are taught that we should live in the light of the coming of Christ.

He is coming, and I can’t wait to see Him.

Until Then

My heart can sing when I pause to remember    —   A heartache here is but a stepping stone    —   Along a trail that's winding always upward,    —   This troubled world is not my final home.

CHORUS:

But until then my heart will go on singing,    —   Until then with joy I'll carry on,  — Until the day my eyes behold the city,  — Until the day God calls me home.

The things of earth will dim and lose their value    —   If we recall they're borrowed for awhile;  — And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,  — Remembered there will only bring a smile.

This weary world with all its toil and struggle    —   May take its toll of misery and strife;    —   The soul of man is likea waiting falcon;    —   When it's released, it's destined for the skies.

Learning to Lean

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Trusting Jesus through the trials of life increases our faith, and we learn to lean on Him the next time we are burden with care.

The joy I can’t explain filled my soul    —    The day I made Jesus my king.    —    His Blessed Holy Spirit is leading my way,    —    He's teaching and I'm learning to lean.

CHORUS:

Learning to lean,     —    Learning to lean,    —    I'm learning to lean on Jesus.    —    Finding more power than I've ever dreamed,    —    I'm learning to lean on Jesus.

Sad broken hearted, at an alter I knelt.    —    I found peace that was so serene.    —    And all that He asked was a child like trust,    —    And a heart that is learning to lea

There's a glorious victory, each day now for me.    —    I've found peace so serene.    —    He helps me with each task, If I'll only ask.    —    Everyday now I'm learning to lean.

Standing on The Promises

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

All these wonderful, precious promises come through a knowledge of Jesus Christ and by faith in Him.

When you are born again, you are given the nature of God.  That’s amazing!

Don’t let anybody tell you that the Christian life is a little series of dos and don’ts.

As a partaker of the divine nature, you want the things of God.

Standing on The Promises

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,    —   Through eternal ages let His praises ring,    —   Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,    —   Standing on the promises of God.

CHORUS:

Standing, standing,    —   Standing on the promises of God my Savior;    —   Standing, standing,    —   I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,    —   When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,    —   By the living Word of God I shall prevail,    —   Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I now can see    —   Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;    —   Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,    —   Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,    —   Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,    —   Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,    —   Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,    —   List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,    —   Resting in my Savior as my all in all,    —   Standing on the promises of God.

My Tribute

Psalm 116:8,12 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

[12] What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

After a difficult, frustrating, pressure–filled day, we need to seek out a quiet place where we can confess our sins, read the Word, and talk with God.

That is the sanctuary of the soul.

My Tribute

How can I say thanks for the things — You have done for me?    —  Things so undeserved yet you gave  —   To prove your love for me.   —   The voices of a million angels   —   Could not express my gratitude.  —  All that I am, and ever hope to be,

I owe it all to thee.

To God be the glory, to God be the glory,  —  To God be the glory for the things he has done.    —    With his blood he has saved me.    —    With his power he has raised me.  —  To God be the glory for the things he has done.

Just let me live my life and  —  Let it be pleasing Lord to thee.    —    And if I gain any praise, let it go to calvary.  —  With his blood he has saved me. — With his power he has raised me.  — To God be the glory for the things he has done.
