Wait On The Lord

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord .

If believers could just learn to wait on God, to let Him lead and bring into our lives the things that need to be there.

But for many of us the flesh is impatient. It wants what it wants and it wants it now. If we're not careful, we'll be telling God how to answer. God’s ways are not our ways. You must trust that He knows what’s best.

It takes courage and faith to lay your burden at the feet of Jesus, to walk away and wait. During the wait,  praise the Lord for His awesome glory and power.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

The Lord Is Faithful

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

I am humbled when I read “The Lord is faithful”.  The first half of 2016 my husband was seriously ill, and several times I thought I would lose Him. But The Lord was faithful. We witnessed His glory again and again as he recovered.

Regardless of what happens, the Lord can be trusted to stand by His promises.

•    He will save you if you will come to Jesus, Rom. 10:9, 13; Acts 16:31.
•    He will keep you and take you to Heaven when this life is over, John 6:37-40, 44.
•    He will hear you when you call on Him, Jer. 33:3; Matt. 7:7-11.
•    He will meet your needs, Matt. 6:25-34; Phil. 4:19.
•    He will give you grace sufficient for every trial, 2 Cor. 12:9.
•    He will give you His peace in the midst of every circumstance of life, Phil. 4:6-7.
•    He will walk with you every step of the way to glory, Heb. 13:5; Matt. 28:20.

The Abundant Life

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Jesus saved us to live a life filled with His presence, power and glory. When a believer walks close to the Heavenly Father, they see Him working in and around them in wonderful, supernatural ways.

This intimate relationship with God is the abundant life of joy and peace through the power of the Holy Ghost.

All of God’s children can live the abundant life? Pray. Study your Bible. Go to church. Worship the Lord. Ask Jesus to cleanse you from any sin in your life and dedicate your life to Him.

Amazing Love

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s love is perfect and it can never fail. He loves at all times and in spite of all appearance. His love is perfect, permanent, unconditional and eternal.

God’s love is an amazing thing.
He loved us first – 1 John 4:19
He loved us when we were unlovable – Eph. 2:4; 1 John 4:10
He loved so much that He gave His Son to save us – Rom. 5:8
He loves us eternally – Jer. 31:3

Nothing can diminish, destroy or defeat His love for us!

Defining Worship

Psalm 29:2  Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Worship is essential to everything we are and do as believers. True worship is better experienced than defined. William Temple, the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1942-1944, renders a good definition of worship.

“Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. . . . To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God . . . . To feed the mind with the truth of God. . . . To purge the imagination by the beauty of God. . . . To open the heart to the love of God. . . . To devote the will to the purpose of God. . . . And all this gathered up in adoration is the greatest of human expressions of which we are capable.”

David And The Bully

Eighty times in forty days Goliath bullies Israel. This  9’ 9” Philistine giant, armored from head to toe with copper, challenges them to send out a man to fight him to the death. Each time Israel responds by hiding in panic-stricken fear.

David shows up. He sees the situation as a faith and  glory of God issue. Goliath has to go.

1 Samuel 17:37  David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

As David runs to meet the bully, he reaches into his shepherd’s bag, takes out a single stone, puts it in his sling, and winds up.  The stone hits Goliath directly between the eyes, sinks into his head, and he is dead before he hits the ground. God gets the glory!

Got anything or anyone in your life that resembles fear of a Goliath bully? Think of bullies as God’s opportunity to receive glory from our lives, helping us face bullies with His power, making us victorious.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7.

My Hope Is In The Lord

1 Corinthians 15:19-20 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.  But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.

If this life is all there is. If there is no hope for eternity, no rapture and no possibility of a resurrection; if all we have to look forward to is the grave; then we would have real reason to despair.

But there is a resurrection. Jesus Christ did rise from the grave. There is hope for those who have their faith in Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
