God Will Take Care Of You

Birds don’t worry about their next meal. They go about their daily routine expecting to find what they need to survive.

Lilies don’t wonder what they will wear next spring or if they will even sprout. God dresses them in beauty as they blossom every year.

Matthew 6:26,28 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? . . . And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Our lives are more complex than birds and flowers, but we too can rejoice in the provision of our Lord.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When we make God a priority in our lives—to please Him first—we can know that He will provide our needs and more.

Those who seek pleasures and wealth over the Lord often live empty worrisome  lives.

I had much rather have the abundance our Lord gives than all this world has to offer.

God will take care of you.

Faith Remembers Answered Prayers

What made David so determined to defeat Goliath? It was the same faith that motivated him to kill the lion and bear when they grabbed one of His sheep.

When he saw the Israelites about to be attacked by Goliath the giant he reacted with the heart of a shepherd. He knew the outcome before the battle.

Faith remembers what God has done in the past, and faith knows that God doesn't change.

God is still the same God Who stepped out from behind the curtain of nowhere onto the stage of nothing and spoke everything into existence, hanging the stars in their sockets and placing the planets in their orbits.

He still owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He is still the same God Who saved you by grace when you exercised that little mustard seed size grain of faith.

He is still the One Who met that need for you, touched that loved one and has never failed you to this point.

Our little problems and the Goliaths we face pose no problem to God.

Ephesians 3:20-21  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

A Humble Heart

God hears the prayers of His people when they pray from a pure and humble heart.  That’s comforting to me.

Psalm 10:17 Lord , thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

We may be unaware of it, but the Lord is active in our lives, willing and able to meet our needs.

He may not immediately remove the burden we face, but He will provide what we need to endure.

Jesus loved us enough to bear our sin on the cross, providing for our salvation. If He loved us that much—and He did—we can rest in His care.

Never Forsaken

David often found himself outside the safety and security of home or city walls, sleeping under the stars with no defense around him.

He learned to fully trust the Lord because of His faithfulness.

Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Few, if any of us can relate to David.

I have never faced the horrors of battle or a mighty giant while still very young. I have not been pursued by one of my children who sought my life.

But we all have faced battles and struggles in life that were very real.

In the midst of trouble the Lord didn’t forsake me when I sought Him. I knew His name. He‘s the one constant in an ever changing world.

Do you personally know Jesus? Is His Holy Spirit dwelling in your heart? If not, seek Him. Trust Him.

Love Letters To The World

The redeemed are God’s letters of love to a lost world. The Apostle Paul says it this way:

2 Corinthians 3:2-3 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

If you are a dedicated born again believer, the Lord will use you to send these messages to the world:
  • God loves sinners
  • His Son died to redeem the lost
  • There is life-changing power in the grace of God
  • The Gospel is real
  • Jesus makes a difference in every life He redeems through the power of His blood
Surrender to His Lordship and allow Him to take you where He will.

A Constant Theme For Praise

When the nations are gone and the saints fill Heaven, that lofty place will ring with the  praises of G0d, Rev. 4.

Psalm 113:4-6 The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!

Where are the dead and forgotten gods of Egypt, Greece and Rome?

Where are the deities of ancient Europe that our ancestors bowed before? They are all gone away to an ash heap of forgetfulness.

If all the greats of humanity were paraded across the stage of time, none of them could hold a candle to our great God.

It’s amazing that a God like ours would even condescend to look into the things that take place upon the earth.

Yet, His eye is on the sparrow, and the very hairs of our heads are numbered.

Surely His glory is a constant theme for praise.

The Way We Love

When the Spirit of God controls us and we are walking in His power, we will prove it by the way we love the Lord and others.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Many years ago, Dr. Donald Gray Barnhouse pointed out that love is central to all the fruits of the Spirit.

He said: “Love is the key—Joy is love singing—Peace is love resting—Long-suffering is love enduring—Kindness is love’s touch—Goodness is love’s character—Faithfulness is love’s habit—Gentleness is love’s self-forgetfulness—Self-control is love holding the reins.”

In other words, there can be no Fruit of the Spirit and thus no evidence of the presence of the Lord apart from love.
