PEACE LIKE A RIVER

People long for peace of mind, physical and financial peace, and domestic peace. However, disobedience to God will stop the flow of peace in a Christian's life.
Isaiah 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then had thy peace been as a river and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea.
God's peace is sustained by fresh supplies of grace from the Holy Spirit. When the apostle Paul experienced a trial which he allowed to rob him of peace, The Lord said, "My grace is sufficient for thee."
If God chooses not to remove your problem, He will give you grace to bear it and that brings peace with the trial in your life.
True peace comes when we obey God's commandments. If there is something you are doing that is contrary to God's Word and will, stop doing it. If there is something you are not doing that God's Word and Spirit has commanded you to do, then start doing it.
When we live in harmony and unity with Jesus the Prince of Peace, we can experience that peace that surpasses all understanding.

FOREVER AND EVER

I am thankful that king David left us his prayers of worship and also his agonizing prayers. What a blessing to read about his precious relationship with God.
Because God is the ageless One, He is eternally present for each and every generation. He is known as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is also known as the God of Adam and Seth, Moses and Aaron, Saul and Samuel, David and Solomon, and you and I. In a changing world, God's presence is eternal.
We can rely on the Eternal God. Every generation can say, "He is my God!"
Psalm 100:5  For the LORD is good: His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.

King of kings and Lord of lords
King of kings and Lord of lords
And He shall reign forever and ever
Forever and ever
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Hallelujah

VENGEANCE

It has been said that life is 10% of what we make it and 90% of how we take it. We are all quick to run from the hardship and pain that results from difficult circumstances and relationships. Some people escape these land mines but carry the baggage of revenge for years.
God doesn't always protect us from the consequences of our bad decisions. He will use them to humble us, break us, and hopefully change and shape us.
From the cradle to the grave, life is filled with inequities and injustice. We can be confident that God sees everything that is going on in our lives. This is why we can give vengeance to The Lord. We should not be concerned with getting even with people. It will eat us up.
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine: I will repay, saith The Lord.
How wonderful it is to give that heavy burden to God.
Do you need to know that someone cares? God wants to heal your broken heart, forgive your sin, and change your life. God sees you and He cares.

SEVEN THINGS THAT SHAPE YOUR LIFE

A. W. Tozer, a preacher, identified seven thing in our lives and culture that fashion or shape us whether we realize it or not.
1. The literature you read. An author's ideas fashion your mind.
2. The music you listen to. Music determines what you like inside.
3. The pleasures you indulge in. In time, if not immediately, the pleasures you allow yourself can make or break you.
4. The ambitions you entertain. Most of us are imitators. It makes a difference who you imitate or follow.
5. The places you go. On the way to heaven, where do you visit? Does it reflect where you're going?
6. The words you speak. Your vocabulary defines you more than you know.
7. The friends you cherish. We are no better and will rise no higher than the company we keep. It's better to break with certain friendships if you're going to serve God.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

ONE DAY

ONE DAY the whole world will pledge allegiance to King Jesus. He will give this world its first taste of a righteous government.
ONE DAY the knowledge of God shall fill the earth. He shall be the dominating influence, and all of society shall have positive, godly values.
Isaiah 11:9b . . . for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of The Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
ONE DAY we who are saved shall rule and reign with Jesus Christ. We shall be in our glorified bodies and shall help administrate this glorious reign of righteousness.
Today the world dreams of peace on earth, but such peace is only a dream until the Prince of Peace -- Emmanuel -- Jesus Christ comes to the earth, puts down His enemies, locks up Satan, and rules from Jerusalem.
Speaking of peace . . .
The bear will be gentle, and the wolf will be tamed,
And the lion will lay down by the lamb.
The beasts from the wild shall be led by a little child,
And I'll be changed from this creature that I am.

BEAUTIFUL FEET

God is interested in your feet, where they go and what they do. They play an important role in your spiritual well being.
Romans 10:15 How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things.
God sends beautiful feet through His church, empowering them with His commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
While The Lord may not call all of us to preach behind a pulpit, we are all called to share Jesus. Whether across the ocean or across the street, there must be people with "beautiful feet" who will go, speak, and share.

We've a message to give to the nations
That The Lord who reigns up above
Has sent us His Son to save us,
And show us that God is love

For the darkness shall turn to dawning
And the dawning to noonday bright
And Christ's great kingdom shall come on earth
The kingdome of love and light

CHRISTIAN RENEWAL

There are times when Christians grow weary. Criticism, rejection, failure and a host of other downers pull us away from God and our Christian service. We need a Christian renewal. God's Word, God's church, and God's people can remind us that our labor in The Lord is not in vain.
Christian renewal comes when you refocus upon Christ within you.
True Christianity is a living relationship with Jesus Christ. It's renewing and refreshing to know that the presence and power of Jesus is living in us.
Galatians 2:30  I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
The full work of Christian renewal will reach your heart and mind when you learn to say, "It's not me! It's Jesus Christ in and through me! I can do all things as long as I rely upon the life and power of Christ within me! It's when I am weak in my own sight that I am made strong."

THE FINAL EXIT

Many if not most of the events of our lives are beyond our control, ordained by God for our good. While we have a measure of control, we don't control the moment of our death.

When we make our final exit we will be transported into the presence of God. From there, all humanity will take one of two directions with destinations as different as lightness and darkness.

While we're living in this world, God has an eternal plan and purpose for our lives. He knew Jeremiah and set him apart in the womb to be a prophet.

Jeremiah 1:4-5  Then the word of The Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

How do you find God's purpose for your life? You read about it in God's Word, you pray for it in daily devotion, and you listen to the voice of God's Spirit within.

Trusting Christ as your personal Saviour gives assurance of eternal light instead of eternal darkness.
