Blessed Is The Nation Whose God Is The Lord

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

History reveals The USA and Great Britain were ruled by a series of men who, while not perfect, at least acknowledged God and declared their dependence upon Him. God blessed. Eventually they  declared their independence from Him, and we can see the results.

Decisions that determine the course of this world are not made in Washington, Moscow or Beijing. They are made in Heaven by the sovereign God Who occupies the throne as Ruler of all things. His will is going to be accomplished in earth and Heaven no matter how hard the devil or fallen man works against Him.

Until Jesus comes and sets up His Kingdom on planet earth, I’m going to keep trusting in the Lord and resting in His Word and His will. I’m going to  rejoice in spite of everything that‘s going on in this wicked world. “Until then my heart will go on singing” ---- Stuart Hamblen

Don't Worry

Luke 12:29,32  And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind .  .  .  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Jesus spent some time telling His disciples not to be eaten up with worry and fear when they go out to spread the gospel. The same message is for believers today. As children of the King, we can know that He will see to our needs.

God gives gracious provision for the birds of the air, but the saints are of greater value to Him than the birds. Too often I feed the folly of worry. Do you? I don’t know why. The Holy God of Heaven takes pleasure in giving us the kingdom.  Trust, worship, and praise Him.

The secret to having our needs met is to live for the Lord, to love and obey Him, to humbly and prayerfully study His Word so you can know Him better and be led by His Spirit. That, my dear friend, is recipe for a worry-free life.

This Little Light Of Mine

Philippians 2:13-15  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings:  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

At times I forget that God is working in me. Too often I try to do His will my way but quickly learn that His “good pleasure” is more powerful.

We must be Spirit-filled if God is going to work His will and His power in us.  Romans 8:9 .. . Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

God can use us for His glory when our lives are empty of murmurings, disputes, and complaints. If we doubt His promises and His Word, He will bring us to His will with love and grace when we let Him.

When we are  blameless, harmless, and faultless Christians, we are in line with God's  will and shine as lights in the darkness of this crooked and perverse world.  How’s your light shining?

Victory

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Victory demands a high price. The victory that you and I have in Jesus is ours because God paid the price, sending His only Son to die on the cross. Obeying His Father, Jesus willingly sacrificed His life for our sins. All that is required for victory is faith in God’s Plan, His Purpos and His Power.

We have victory over the grave because the resurrected Christ conquered death. We have victory over tears of a broken heart.

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

We have victory over the tragedy of our trials.  John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

The God Of The Impossible

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

When I think of God making the world and everything that is a part of it, I marvel. When I think of Him creating light with a word, I am amazed. When I think of the vastness of the universe and how He created the stars, moon and planets just by speaking them into existence, I am speechless.

But when I think that the holy, eternal, infinite, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God would condescend to love the likes of sinners like us, I am brought to my knees in worship.

What love!  If God can take a black heart, wash it in the red blood of His Son, and make it whiter than snow, He can do anything.  He Is the God of the Impossible. That gives me confidence.

Come To Jesus

Hebrews 10:22  Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

The call is for people to sincerely come to Jesus---not lightly or as if it were a game---but humbly believing---as a lost sinner crying out for salvation---, humbly believing that Jesus will cleanse you from sin by His shed blood. He will not turn you away.

If you come to Jesus as a born again believer, seeking His help, He will receive you. You have access to God the Father. Make good use of that privilege. Seek His face and call on Him often.

If you have not accepted the gospel message, the way has been opened for you. Come to Him, (John 6:37, 47; Rom. 10:13). Come as you are.

“Just as I am without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me; and that Thou bidet me come to Thee. Oh, Lamb of God I come. I come.”  Charlotte Elliott

Hope, Joy, And Peace

Psalm 146:5-6  Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:  Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is : which keepeth truth for ever:

Do you want to be happy? Of course you do. If Christ is your Lord and Savior He is your hope, your joy, and your peace.  When you consider the greatness of God and His power you can’t help but praise Him.

God is the One who said “Let there be…” and there was. His power is awesome.  It’s this power that He extends to us in salvation and support day by day.

When you think of his promises you know He will stand by His Word, whither it’s putting food on your table or clothes on your back (Matt. 6:25-34) or a perfect home in Heaven some day, John 14:1-3; Rev. 21:4. Trust Him. Believe Him.
