How Beautiful Heaven Must Be

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Just the thought of knowing that there is a place of endless glory and blessing ahead is enough to give God’s children “joy unspeakable and full of glory”.

How Beautiful Heaven Must you Be

We read of a place that’s called heaven,    —    It’s made for the pure and the free;    —    These truths in God’s Word He hath given,    —    How beautiful heaven must be.

CHORUS:

How beautiful heaven must be, — Sweet home of the happy and free; —    Fair haven of rest for the weary,    —    How beautiful heaven must be.

In heaven no drooping nor pining,    —    No wishing for elsewhere to be;    —    God’s light is forever there shining,    —    How beautiful heaven must be.

Pure waters of life there are flowing,    —    And all who will drink may be free;    —    Rare jewels of splendor are glowing,    —    How beautiful heaven must be.

The angels so sweetly are singing,    —    Up there by the beautiful sea;    —    Sweet chords from their gold harps are ringing,    —    How beautiful heaven must be.

He Leadeth Me

Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

[2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

[3] He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

By the authority of His redemptive work on the Cross, His death and resurrection, you can trust Jesus and call Him your Shepherd.

He Leadeth Me

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!    —    O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!    —    Whate’er I do, where’er I be    —    Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

CHORUS:

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,  —  By His own hand He leadeth me;  —  His faithful foll’wer I would be,    —    For by His hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes ’mid scenes of deepest gloom,    —    Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,  —  By waters still, o’er troubled sea,  —  Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.

Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,    —    Nor ever murmur nor repine;    —  Content, whatever lot I see,    —    Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.

And when my task on earth is done,    —    When by Thy grace the vict’ry’s won,    —    E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,    —    Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

Victory In Jesus

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The source of our victory is in Jesus.

When He came to this world, lived a perfect life, died on the cross and rose again from the dead, Jesus defeated every enemy for us.

Victory In Jesus

I heard an old, old story,   —  How a Savior came from glory,   —  How He gave His life on Calvary   —    To save a wretch like me   —    I heard about His groaning,   —    Of His precious blood's atoning,   —    Then I repented of my sins   —    And won the victory.

CHORUS:

O victory in Jesus,   —    My Savior, forever.   —    He sought me and bought me   —    With His redeeming blood.   —    He loved me ere I knew Him,   —    And all my love is due Him,   —    He plunged me to victory   —    Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, — Of His cleansing pow'r revealing. — How He made the lame to walk again  —  And caused the blind to see. —   And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, —  “Come and heal my broken spirit,"  —   And somehow Jesus came and bro't   —    To me the victory.

I heard about a mansion   —    He has built for me in glory.   —    And I heard about the streets of gold   —    Beyond the crystal sea;   —    About the angels singing,   —    And the old redemption story,   —    And some sweet day I'll sing up there   —    The song of victory.

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

John 15:15  Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Because believers are His friends, Jesus has revealed the things of God to us.

One of the things that should characterize a believer is that you can go to God, tell him your problems and get understanding and help and encouragement from him.

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus, —  All our sins and griefs to bear! —  What a privilege to carry —  Everything to God in prayer! —  Oh, what peace we often forfeit,   —    Oh, what needless pain we bear,   —    All because we do not carry   —    Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations? —  Is there trouble anywhere?  —  We should never be discouraged  —  Take it to the Lord in prayer.   —  Can we find a friend so faithful, —  Who will all our sorrows share? —  Jesus knows our every weakness;   —    Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,  —  Cumbered with a load of care?  —    Precious Savior, still our refuge  — Take it to the Lord in prayer. — Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? —  Take it to the Lord in prayer!  —  In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,   —    Thou wilt find a solace there.

The Promise

Romans 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Abraham believed God when He promised him a son in his old age. He and Sarah rejoiced at the birth of Isaac.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The promise Jesus gave, assuring us His presence forever, is a great comfort to me.

This song (sung by the Martins on Utube) may be unfamiliar to some, but it is a great blessing to me so I had to share it.

The Promise

_______________________

I never said that I would give you silver or gold    —   Or that you would never feel the fire or

shiver in the cold,    —   But I did say you'd never walk through this world alone.    —   And I did

say, don't make this world your home.

I never said that fear wouldn't find you in the night    —   Or that loneliness was something you'd never have to fight,    —   But I did say I'd be right there by your side,    —   And I did say I'll always help you fight.

CHORUS:

'Cause you know I made a promise that I intend to keep.    —   My grace will be sufficient in every time of need.    —   And my love will be the anchor that you can hold onto.    —   This is the promise, this is the promise I made to you.

I never said that friends would never turn their backs on you    —   Or that the world around you wouldn't see you as a fool,    —   But I did say like me you'll surely be despised,    —   And I did say my ways confound the wise

I didn't say you'd never taste the bitter kiss of death    —   Or have to walk through chilly Jordan to enter into rest,    —   But I did say I'd be waiting right on the other side.    —   And I did say I'll dry every tear you cry.

So just keep on walkin', don't turn to the left or right,    —   And in the midst of darkness, let this be your light:    —   That hell can't separate us, and you're gonna make it through.    —   This is the promise, this is the promise I made to you.

If It Had Not Been For The Lord

Psalm 124:2-3,8 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

[3] Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

[8] Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

I hate to think where and what I would be had I not believed in Jesus.

After all these years, He has never left my side.

If It Had Not Been For

The Lord On My Side

CHORUS:

If it had not been for the Lord on my side,    —    tell me where would I be, where would I be?

He kept my enemies away;    —    He let the sun shine through a cloudy day.    —    He rocked me in the cradle of his arm    —    When he knew I had been battered and scorned.

He never, never left me all alone.  — He gave me a joy and His peace I’ve never known. — He answered when I knelt down to pray,  —  And with victory the Lord showed me the way.

What A Lovely Name

1 Chronicles 29:11-12  Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine ; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.

[12] Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

Luke 1:30-31 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

[31] And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

What A Lovely Name

_______________________________

There's a name above all others,   —   Wonderful to hear, bringing hope and cheer.   —   It's the lovely name of Jesus,   —   Evermore the same, what a lovely name.

CHORUS:

What a lovely name, the name of Jesus,   —   Reaching higher far, than the brightest star. — Sweeter than the songs they sing in heaven, — Let the world proclaim, What a lovely name!

Thru His name here's wondrous power,   —   Power to redeem, making sinners clean.   —   By His pow'r He cleansed the leper,   —   Opened blinded eyes, caused the dead to rise.

He'll return in clouds of glory,   —   Saints of every race, shall behold His face.   —   With Him enter heaven's city,   —   Ever to proclaim, what a lovely name.
