God’s Thoughts Of Peace For Us

There is no such thing as chance or luck with the child of God. Our lives don’t just happen.  They are ordained and orchestrated of God. He has a plan and a purpose for each of us.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God has an expected end of peace for us when we seek Him. I am amazed at the power and wisdom of my Lord.

I can’t see two seconds into the future, but God sees it all. He knows exactly what He has in store for you and me.

The key to seeing God’s plan fulfilled is simple. We are to pray and seek Him.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

God knows our hearts and lives better than we do. He is aware of our needs before we realize them. But He still wants us to pray.

Great And Precious Promises

It has been said that there are over 7,000 promises in holy Scriptures. I have never counted them myself, but I do know this; every promise God ever made will come to pass when we believe.

2 Peter 1:4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
  • There is the promise of His Love - Rom. 8:38-39; Jer. 31:3
  • There Is the promise of His Presence - Matt. 28:20; Heb. 13:5
  • There is the promise of His Provision - Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:25-33
  • There is the promise of His Grace - 2 Cor. 2:9
  • There is the promise of His Heaven - John 14:1-3; Rev. 21:4
God will never be caught in a lie, because He can't lie - Heb. 6:18. He will never be found unfaithful, because He has the power to do what He has promised - Rom. 4:21.

Grace And Glory

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Grace and Glory—a two-fold promise to every child of God.

We are promised God’s grace while we travel to Heaven and His glory when we get there. There’s help for today and hope for tomorrow.

The Lord delights in providing for the needs of His children, Luke 12:32.

After two sleepless nights, last night I asked the Lord to give me sleep. I slept like a baby.

God is good. Learn to trust Him. Learn to rest in Him.

I Choose To Believe God

In the midst of a storm with hurricane winds, Paul and Luke throw everything out of the boat except themselves and those with them. Paul urges them to be of good cheer.

They may have thought he had lost his mind, but he was simply resting in the peace of God.

Acts 27:23-25 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Our victory in the trials we face depends upon the choice we make. I choose to believe God. His promises never fail.

If a storm is raging in your life, know that the Lord is in control. If you are in Christ, you are secure in Him. He alone can provide the strength you need to endure. Seek Him as Paul did for victory.

More Than Conquerers

The Sadducees thought they had gotten rid of the apostles. They put them in prison, but they were not forsaken. God had a work for them to do and was well able to meet their needs in performing His will.

Acts 5:18-20 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

These apostles had encountered the risen Lord and received the power of the Holy Spirit. There was a fire burning in their souls that couldn’t be quenched.

Hell may rage, but I have been redeemed; I belong to the King of glory. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

As long as we are working through the power of God, we are more than conquerors.

Trust Jesus

Jairus, a prestigious ruler in the synagogue, can’t help his dying daughter, so he humbly goes to Jesus. They learn she has already died, but Jesus goes to her anyway.

Mark 5:41-42 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

I have often been amazed at the power and compassion of our Lord. He has the ability to not only meet, but exceed our expectations.

When you face situations that are beyond your control, and they are many, trust Jesus. He will never fail.

I’m glad there is hope for those who believe in faith. Honor Jesus with your faith and expect Him to do the unexpected.

Don’t Worry

Psalm 43:5  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

There is no room for overwhelming sadness and fear in the heart of a believer.

Worry says, "God is dead. Life is hopeless and defeat is sure."

Whatever it may be that you are facing, it will not last forever. Eventually you will reach the end of that valley and ultimately all valleys. Have faith in God. Don’t worry.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
