I Am Amazed

Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

I am amazed when I consider all God has done and the wondrous power He possesses --- the vastness of the universe, the beauty of the earth, the wonder of the human body and life itself. He is my Lord, my Savior, my God, my King, my best friend.

I am amazed that man would even enter the thoughts of such a powerful and divine Lord,  that He would visit us with His gracious presence, that He would care for us that much.

I am thankful that He is aware of our needs and works in our lives. I rejoice to feel His presence in my life and have the gracious privilege of fellowshipping with Him.

Believers are blessed beyond measure to be have an intimate relationship with God through Christ our Lord. Did I mention that He’s my best friend?

Glory Throughout All Ages

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Thank the Lord, there are no limits to God’s power. He can move mountains,  lift burdens, and meet needs. He can transform  lives of substandard saints into vessels of honor for His glory.

We will never grasp the fulness of God's glory and grace in this life, but one day our bodies and minds will be glorified. Then we will glorify Him throughout the ages.

When the end of time comes and eternity flows into eternity, God will be receiving glory from born-again sinners, saved by the grace of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Make Prayer A Priority

Mark 1:35  And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Why did Jesus even need to pray? After all, He is God in the flesh.  He prayed because He wanted a totally unhindered fellowship with the Father. It was a place of solitude ---a  precious and private time.

If Jesus felt the need for prayer, how much more do believers need to pray?  If we want a life that can be used of God for His glory ----- if we want the power of God in our lives ---- if we want to live Holy lives ----- we must make prayer a priority.

We should seek God’s will and direction for our lives. When He tells us what He wants us to do and we do it, we can rest assured of His blessings.

When He Was On The Cross

Mark 10:32  And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,

On His way to Jerusalem Jesus knew that His death at Calvary met the just demands of a holy God, that God Almighty would be satisfied and lost sinners could be saved.

On the way to Calvary the plan of salvation was on His mind. His death burial and resurrection began at the cross. Nothing would stand in His way to offer salvation and eternal life to all who believe. Jesus was focused on people. When He was on the cross, I was on His mind and you were on His mind.

Blood was on his scarlet robe, Stained a crimson red.
Though his eyes were on the crowd that day,
He looked ahead in time,
For when he was on the cross I was on his mind.

He knew me, yet he loved me
He whose glory makes the heavens shine
So unworthy of such mercy,
Yet when he was on the cross I was on his mind.

The Key To Peace

Philippians 4:6-7  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

There are three basic types of peace mentioned in the Bible. The peace of God that comes with salvation, Rom. 5:1. The peace of God that comes through total surrender to God in all things, Phil. 4:6-7; John 14:1, 27.  The peace on earth that will come when Jesus Christ comes back to reign in glory and power, Isa. 2:1-4.

The peace that comes with total surrender is the peace of God in times of trouble, the peace  that overwhelms our worries and helps us rest in the will of the Lord even when we can’t see what lies ahead.

The key to experiencing the peace of God which passes all understanding --- which keeps our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus ---  lies in a thankful heart and a song of praise.

Faith

Romans 4:19-20  And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

The Apostle Paul recalls one of the greatest miracles in the Bible ---- the birth of Isaac. What makes his birth so special? Well, his daddy was 100 and his mother was 90 when he was born. This would be their first child. Abraham simply took the Lord at His word 25 years earlier. He knew that if God said it, God would see to it. What was the promise?

Genesis 13:16  And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

Faith  boils down to whether or not you want to believe God. Whether it’s in salvation or in any area of life, the results of your faith will always be determined by the direction of your faith. Faith that is placed in God is faith that will be rewarded --- faith that will move mountains.

When Jesus Shows Up

John 21:13-14 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

We know Jesus is in believers all the time, but it’s precious when He shows up in a special intimate way again and again in our lives. Whether it’s an unexpected tragedy, a broken heart, a near death experience or a Holy-ground praise and worship experience, it’s hard to explain the joy and sweet fellowship of the presence of God.

There were times in the Bible when Jesus just showed up. He walked with  Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego through the fiery furnace, keeping them from burning. He showed up in the lions den with Daniel, stifling the bite of the lions. It was Jesus who walked on the stormy waters to the frightened  disciples in the boat.

Everything changes when Jesus shows up.
