God Is Able

Throughout their history, Israel enjoyed the presence and power of Almighty God.

He part the Red Sea, dropped manna from heaven every day for forty years and defeated their enemies.

Imagine the thrill of seeing His glory come down upon the Tabernacle and the pillar of cloud and of fire.

Psalm 78:4,12 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. . . . .  Marvelous things he did in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

The Lord is still coming through for His people. Look back over the years and remember the times He displayed His great power in your life.

He has proven Himself to you and me repeatedly. He is all-powerful and shall remain so throughout eternity.

No matter what we face, God is able to give us victory,

Get into God’s Word daily and allow it to lodge in your heart and change you, You will learn to trust Him more and more. Your prayers will be answered.

Bring you doubts, your fears and your questions and lay them to rest at the feet of Jesus.

God Is Good

King David had an intimate relationship with the Lord — a man after God’s own heart. .
I’m glad we can know God like David wrote in the Psalms.

Psalm 94:17-19 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

This reminds me of a song.

“He kept my enemies away — He let the sun shine through a cloudy day.  — He wrapped me in the cradle of His arms — When He knew I’d been battered and torn.”
 — Helen Baylor

[18] When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

If it hadn’t been for the countless mercies of God, I wonder where we would be.

[19] In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

I’ll say it again, “God is good!”

Soar Like The Eagle

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

The great eagle is held to the ground by the same gravity that holds us.

But when the great eagle stretches those massive wings, with one great flap it’s airborne, quickly rising — breaking the grip of gravity — until it’s able to soar above this world with its dangers, strife and problems.

When we learn to “hope in the Lord” we find that same freedom from things that bind us, allowing us to soar above the difficulties of this life.

The secret here is to “wait on the Lord”. He will make you strong again.

The Trial Of Your Faith

Often it’s the trials of life that bring us closer to the Lord. Looking back at the hard places in my life, I agree.

Jesus was always with me like He said He would be - Heb. 13:5, and — believe me — I grew closer to the Lord - 2 Cor. 4:17.

I have learned that when times are bad, God is still good - Job 1:20-21.

The Word of God says our valleys are planned by the Lord - Rom. 8:28; Isa. 45:7, and that something better is waiting for us - Rom. 8:18.

I can say from experience, when we have gone through the valley and come out on the other side, we will know the Lord better and we will be stronger in the faith.

1 Peter 1:7. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

The trial of your faith is precious to the Lord.

Wait On The Lord

If we could just learn to wait on God, to let Him lead and bring into our lives the things that need to be there.

If we could, we would be far better off.

But the flesh is impatient. It wants what it wants and it wants it now.

The Lord will bring into our lives things that He knows are best for us if we wait.

Those who wait on the Lord live victorious lives.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Out Of The Valley

David, suffered from depression and defeat.

Psalm 143:3-4 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul;. . . . .Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

As terrible as the valleys of life are, they are also valuable.

In the valley we learn eternal truths about God, truths that energize and strengthen our faith.

Yes, there is pain and there are prizes, but thank God there is a path out of the valley.

David needed a fresh encounter with the Lord and prayed for it.

Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

God will lift you out of your valley. Humbly pray with faith, and allow the Lord to wrap his loving arms around you. In His time He will lift you out of the valley.

What Matters Most

What matters most is not how smart you are.
What matters most is not how wealthy, not how popular, not how famous nor how well liked you are.

What matters most is how well you love. When you learn to love like Jesus loves, you have discovered what matters most.

1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.

The bottom line is this: these were the same instruments used in heathen worship.

The person who uses his tongue in a spiritual fashion yet does not do so with the love of God in him, that person is no better than a heathen worshiper.

In fact, his worship is man centered and not God centered.

To be like God, we must learn to love like God.  When we can do this, our world will be altered for His glory.
