He Didn’t Throw The Clay Away

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Thank God we serve a patient Lord. How many times has He demonstrated that to you and me?

We can trust Him for everything in our lives —  His grace, His love and His character many times over.

How many times have we failed the good Lord, but instead of throwing us away, He continues to love us and work in our lives. He is the Potter and we are the clay.

“Empty and Broken, I came Back to Him, — A Vessel Unworthy, so scarred from Sin. — But He did not Despair... He Started over again — And I Bless the Day He didn't Throw the Clay Away.

“Over and Over, He Molds Me and Makes Me, — Into His likeness, He fashions the clay. — A vessel of Honor, I Am today, — All because Jesus Didn't Throw The Clay Away.

“He is the Potter... I am the Clay — Molded in God's Image, He wants me to Stay. — When I Stumble...And Fall... When My Vessel Breaks, — He just Picks up those Pieces, — He does not Throw the Clay Away...

“A Vessel of Honor, I Am Today, — It's all Because Jesus Didn't Throw The Clay Away.”

Hallelijah

Psalm 100:5  For the LORD is good: His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.

Because God is the ageless One, He is eternally present for each and every generation.

He is known as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Also the God of Adam and Seth, Moses and Aaron, Saul and Samuel, David and Solomon, and you and I.

In a changing world, God's presence is eternal. We can rely on the Eternal God. Every generation can say, "He is my God."

Faith Is The Victory

Hebrews 11:1-3  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

What will faith do for us?

Faith Calms Our Fears - I am not sheltered from bad things, but in the midst of them I have His promises — Rom. 8:28; 1 Cor. 15:57; 2 Cor. 4:17. Phil. 4:6-7.

Faith Confirms Our Future — I don’t know what I will face tomorrow, but I know that when all my tomorrows are finished, I have a future secured in the Lord Jesus Christ, John 14:1-3.

Faith Claims God’s Finest - Faith believes that God will be true to His Word, responds to that Word, acts upon that Word, and receives the fulfillment of that Word, Rom. 4:21; Heb. 6:18.

There are many who never learn what God can do because they are never willing to believe what God can do.

God’s will is that we live by faith — Not the blind leap of the foolish, not the blank check of misinformed, but the deep settled assurance that what God has said He will do, He is more than able and willing to do.

“Encamped along the hills of light, — Ye Christian soldiers, rise. — And press the battle ere the night — Shall veil the glowing skies. — Against the foe in vales below — Let all our strength be hurled. — Faith is the victory, we know, — That overcomes the world.

“Faith is the victory! — Faith is the victory! — O glorious victory that overcomes the world.

“His banner over us is love, — Our sword the Word of God. — We tread the road the saints above — With shouts of triumph trod. — By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath, — Swept on o’er every field. — The faith by which they conquered death — Is still our shining shield.

“On every hand the foe we find — Drawn up in dread array. — Let tents of ease be left behind, — And onward to the fray. — Salvation’s helmet on each head, — With truth all girt about, — The earth shall tremble ‘neath our tread, — And echo with our shout.
“To him that overcomes the foe, — White raiment shall be given. — Before the angels he shall know — His name confessed in Heaven. — Then onward from the hill of light, — Our hearts with love aflame, —We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night, — In Jesus’ conquering Name.”

It Took A Miracle

]The great power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is revealed in His miracles—feeding the thousands, walking on water, healing the sick and much more.

The power of God is also seen in the Creation of the universe.

And He has performed many miracles in my life and that of my family.

But the greatest miracle Jesus did for me was when He saved my soul. That took a miracle.

As we learned in Vacation Bible School, He took my black sinful heart, cleansed it with His red blood and made it white as snow.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

“It took a miracle to put the stars in place. —It took a miracle to hang the world in space. —But when He saved my soul, — Cleansed and made me whole, — It took a miracle of love and grace.

“The Bible tells us of his pow'r — And wisdom all way thru; — And every little bird and flow'r — Are testimonies too.

“It took a miracle to put the stars in place. —It took a miracle to hang the world in space. —But when He saved my soul, — Cleansed and made me whole, — It took a miracle of love and grace.

Victory In Jesus

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

If you are saved, you are “more than a conqueror” in Jesus. I don’t always feel like it. I don’t always live like it. But the Bible assures me that it is true.

To be “more than conquerors” we must take God at His Word, even when we feel defeated. We have “Victory In Jesus” when we believe, then we can victoriously sing “Victory In Jesus”

“I heard an old, old story — How a Savior came from glory — How He gave His life on Calvary — To save a wretch like me. — I heard about His groaning, — Of His precious blood’s atoning, — Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

“O victory in Jesus, — My Savior, forever. — He sought me and bought me — With His redeeming blood; — He loved me ere I knew Him, — And all my love is due Him, — He plunged me to victory, — Beneath the cleansing flood

“I heard about His healing, — Of His cleansing power revealing. — How He made the lame to walk again — And caused the blind to see; — And then I cried, “Dear Jesus, — Come and heal my broken spirit,” — And somehow Jesus came and brought To me the victory.

“I heard about a mansion —He has built for me in glory.— And I heard about the streets of gold — Beyond the crystal sea; — About the angels singing, — And the old redemption story, — And some sweet day I’ll sing up there — The song of victory.”

The Longer I Serve Him . . .

I heard my son say, “If you want a good parking spot at the restaurant after church, ride with mama or follow her.”
He’s right. Time and again I’ve prayed for a close parking spot on the way to eat, and The Lord answers my prayers. God knows Gale and I have weak legs and easily get out of breath when we walk too far.

On the way to the store I pray for a close parking spot and a motor cart. Prayers answered

Today we had to make the dreadful twenty mile, heavy traffic trip to Baptist Hospital at Beaumont for an imaging appointment. At mild-day the eight parking spots close to a  side entrance are usually taken.

I prayed all the way. I prayed we also wouldn’t have to wait too long. At our age our lives seem to be consumed by waiting rooms.

Seeing one side slot open, I praised the Lord as we parked and trudged inside. Everything went fast and we were in and out of there before the scheduled appointment time.

Don’t ever think bothersome things are too small to pray about. If you delight in the Lord, He will answer your prayers. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows.

Psalm 37:4-5 Delight thyself also in the Lord ; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. . . . [5] Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

The Great Shepherd

The image of a shepherd tenderly leading, feeding and caring for his sheep is a perfect picture of our precious Savior’s relationship to His sheep.

I praise the Lord that when I got saved, I got more than a Savior. I also got a Shepherd.  I got One Who loves me, tends to me, cares about me, leads me, feeds me, protects me and guides me through this life.

Psalm 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. . . . . [2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

[3] He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  . . . . [4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

[5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. . . . . [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

‘Savior, like a shepherd lead us — Much we need Thy tender care. — In Thy pleasant pastures feed us — For our use Thy folds prepare.

“Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus — Thou hast bought us, Thine we are. — Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, — Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

“We are Thine, who Thou befriend us, — Be the guardian of our way. — Keep Thy flock from sin defend us, — Seek us when we go astray.

“Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, — Hear Thy children when we pray. — Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus. — Hear Thy children when we pray.

“Early let us seek Thy favor. — Early let us do Thy will. — Blessed Lord and only Savior — With Thy love our bosoms fill.

“Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus — Thou hast loved us, love us still. — Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, —
Thou hast loved us, love us still.”
