Do You Love Jesus?

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Our surrender to Jesus should be based on love. How do you prove your love for Jesus? The proof of love is our obedience to Him and His word. That’s why it’s important to prayerfully study the Bible.

Our lips may say we love Jesus, but if we don't obey His Word our lives won't match our lips. Until we obey, we are only deceiving ourselves.

The promise to those who are obedient to the Lord and His will for their lives is that He and the Father will manifest themselves to them, and they will experience power from on high.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey--- John H. Sammis

The High Calling Of God

Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,  forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The Apostle Paul is taking a personal inventory of his life. How would you describe your Christian life? Is it pleasing to the Lord? Is there something lacking? Is there sin or other things that need to be dealt with?

As born again children of God, we are partakers of a heavenly calling. We should be doing our best to live for the Lord and bring honor to his name. God wants us to  grow in holiness until we resemble Him. We are in a race. Sometimes we are ahead and sometimes we’re behind. It often  becomes a struggle to be holy.

Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Only Believe

Hebrews 11:1-2 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God’s will is that we live by faith--- not the blind leap of the foolish---not the blank check of the misinformed, but the deep settled assurance that what God has said He would do, He is more than able and willing.

Because of our relationship to Jesus Christ, faith  brings the future within the present and makes the invisible seen. Faith is not based on guesswork, peace of heart or wishful thinking. Faith calms our fears, cushions our falls, and  confirms our future.

“Lord, regardless of how I feel or what I can’t see, I’m standing on your promises. Hear my prayer and answer it according to your will, and may you be glorified. Amen”

How Great Thou Art

Psalm 111:2-3 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

That seems such an insignificant description of the works of our God. Our language simply can’t express the wonder and greatness of all he is. Have you tried to comprehend the greatness of our God lately?

The only true and living God is splendor and majestic. He never changes. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. There are none who rival His glory or His splendor.

Isn’t it amazing that He would take time to notice us, to want a relationship with us? Who is like unto our God? What more could we hope for?

Can you remember the times in your life when our God showed Himself mighty and gracious. He is a God that is filled with compassion toward those who are undeserving. Surely we all have much to praise Him for!

The Banner Of Grace

Psalm 20:5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

God’s people prayed for David to lead them into battle, but their hope rested in the provisions of the Lord. They knew God would care for and keep them as long as they walked in fellowship with Him. They carried banners into battle that identified them as the people of God. They rested in the strength of the Lord rather than the abilities of men.

The battle is not ours; it belongs to the Lord. Whether we are facing a physical, emotional, or spiritual battle, we should rely upon the Lord to fight the battle for us.

He already conquered the enemy as He bled and died on the cross and rose again triumphant over sin, death, and hell. We will face nothing in life that our Lord can’t provide victory over.

Those within the body of Christ are secure within His mighty grip. We are covered by His banner of grace. We must live our lives in close communion with Him  if we are to experience His great blessing.

Out Of The Miry Clay

Psalm 40:1-3  I waited patiently for the Lord, and he inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the Lord .

We have all experienced those helpless times in our lives when we were  unable to help ourselves and was forced to wait on the Lord,  but none can compare to that time we spent lost in sin.

Can you remember that day when the Lord of glory “bent down” to hear your cry?  The God of Heaven reached down farther than you could reach up?

When the saint is delivered from his horrible pit of sin and set upon that Rock, something changes inside.  Where before there was bitterness, darkness and hopelessness; there is joy, light and peace.  This change in the heart produces a change in the attitude.  This change in the heart will put a song on the lips. This transformation will always work its way out of the mouth.

Jesus is worthy of our praise.

My Father Is King

Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him , that we may be also glorified together.

Because we the Redeemed are the children of God, we are also heirs of God. Our Heavenly Father is wealthy beyond measure. What He has belongs to us right now.

Not only are we the heirs of God, but we have been made joint-heirs with Jesus. Literally, we are given an equal share in the wealth of our Father.

I’m amazed when I come to understand that I have been placed on the same footing with Jesus. We will never be Him, but we have been made like Him in the Father's eyes! We are a child and heir of the King. Hallelujah!

I once was an outcast stranger on earth, a sinner by choice and an alien by birth. But I’ve been adopted, my name’s written down --- An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.

I'm a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus my Savior, I'm a child of the King.
