Loving God

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

The better we know God, the more we will love Him. Loving God is more than feelings. Loving God involves investigating scripture to find who He is and what He says and how He loves us.

Loving God with all your mind is seeing life and the world the way God sees it. The only way to do this is to fill our minds with God’s thoughts and perspective.

The Longer I Serve Him, The Sweeter He Grows. When you truly love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind, that love grows sweeter each day.

Did I mention that I love Him, How I worship and adore Him
When I can see no way, He makes a way
Did I mention He's been faithful to every promise He ever made me
I love Him, that's all I want to say

The Inspired Word Of Holy God

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Scriptures teach all the fundamentals of the faith and instruct in the deep things of God. They show us what’s wrong in our lives and teach us how to fix it. The Word of God, if read, believed and lived out will cause us to become more like Jesus.

We should never base our doctrine on feelings or experiences or on what someone we admire believed. Everything we believe and do should be based squarely on a clear Word from God, not on our own opinions, preferences or prejudices.

As you study the inspired Word of God, ask the Lord to reveal His truth. He will.

How Do You Picture God?

What kind of picture of God do you carry in your heart and mind? Do you feel He is for you or against you, far away or close by?  Does He weep when you weep? When life goes wrong, do you feel it’s God punishing you?

Your picture of God will show in your actions, attitudes, and how you live for Him. The more you study your Bible and the life of Jesus, the more accurate your picture of God will become.

As you grow in God's Word and the trials of life, your picture of God will change and continue to develop. It won’t be complete until you see Him face to face.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Walk In The Old Paths

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

The people of God were lead astray by the false prophets and leaders of their day. They were taken into Babylonian captivity just as Jeremiah prophesied. They refused to follow the old paths of their fathers.

What about our day? Today many people refuse to walk in the old paths, such as believing salvation through the blood ---- belief in  the infallible, inerrant, inspired Word of God ----  the reality of Heaven And Hell ---- the value of the human soul ---- the soon return of Jesus ---- the holiness of God.

No matter what the world does or thinks, let us, the people of the Lord, stand tall in the old paths, the way God has ordained. God hasn’t changed. There’s a reward for those who walk in the old paths.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Purpose In Your Heart

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

When Daniel and his three Jewish friends became captives of the pagan-worshiping Babylonians Empire, they purposed in their hearts to serve the Lord whatever the cost.

It would have been easy to say, "Well, it's all right, everyone else is bowing to the idol." Or "We had better do what the king says." Or "We'll obey the king outwardly, but we'll keep our faith to ourselves."

When the king threw Daniel in the den of lions, they didn't hurt him. When the king threw Daniel’s three friends in the fiery furnace they were not burned or even scorched. What a mighty witness to those pagan worshippers.

Christians need this same level of determined commitment to  God. Then we can say, “Stand back and see the glorious handiwork of God Almighty.”

What A Lovely Name

The name of Jesus is a name that thrills the soul of a believer, makes devils tremble, gives us access to the God of Glory,  moves mountains,  opens the door to the blessings of God, and causes sinners to bow in repentance. It's a name that is above every name.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Salvation can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ! If you will escape the fires of Hell and will enter into the glories of Heaven, you will do so through none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. He alone can save the soul of man by faith and power in the blood He shed at Calvary.

Many people deny the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and how His blood redeems sinners, but He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the Savior of all men.

What a lovely name.. Let the redeemed of the Lord magnify His Name!

Losing Your Shackles

Paul and Silas, beaten and thrown into  prison, praised God and sang love songs to him. That’s a powerful ministry. God sent an earthquake and the shackles fell off.

Why did God allow Paul and Silas to go to prison? All they had done was serve the Lord. Is it possible that He sent them so a jailer and his family would be saved? It happened. Maybe it was to testify to the city officials, to encourage the saints and to teach them that God is greater than any prison or problem they would face.

God may send us a trial so we can help someone else to see that He is an ever present, all-sufficient, all mighty God.

Hebrews 4:15-16 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
