Have Faith in God

Hebrews 11:11  Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

At the age of ninety, Sarah had a little boy named Isaac.

It was God’s plan her and her older husband, Abraham.

She “received strength to conceive seed, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”

Sarah represents the power (or strength) of faith.

Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely,  —    He sees and knows all the way you have trod;  —    Never alone are the least of His children;  —    Have faith in God, have faith in God.

CHORUS:

Have faith in God, He’s on His throne;  —    Have faith in God, He watches o’er His own; —  He cannot fail, He must prevail; —  Have faith in God, have faith in God.

Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered,  —    Your earnest plea He will never forget;  —    Wait on the Lord, trust His Word and be patient,  —    Have faith in God, He’ll answer yet.

Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow,  —    His heart is touched with your grief and despair;  —    Cast all your cares and your burdens upon Him,  —    And leave them there, oh, leave them there.

Have faith in God though all else fail about you;  —    Have faith in God, He provides for His own;  —    He cannot fail though all kingdoms shall perish,  —    He rules, He reigns upon His throne.

At The Cross

Romans 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

[9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

The death of Christ on the cross was one of absolute torture. He was:

1. Scourged - Matt. 27:26

2. Beaten - Luke 22:63-64

3. Spat upon - Matt. 27:30

4. Beard Plucked from His Face -Isa. 50:6

5. Mocked - Matt. 27:26-29

6. Stripped Naked - Matt. 27:35

7. Nailed to the Cross - Matt. 27:38; John 20:25

But three days later He arose from the grave and is alive today!

Alas and did my Savior bleed  — And did my Sov'reign die  — Would He devote that sacred head    —    For such a worm as I?

CHORUS:

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light  — And the burden of my heart rolled away — It was there by faith I received my sight —  And now I am happy all the day

Was it for crimes that I had done    —    He groaned upon the tree?  —    Amazing pity! grace unknown!    —    And love beyond degree!

Well might the sun in darkness hide  —  And shut his glories in  — When Christ, the mighty Maker died    —    For man the creature's sin.

Thus might I hide my blushing face    —    While Calvary’s cross appears    —    Dissolve my heart in thank-ful-ness    —    And melt my eyes to tears.

But drops of grief can ne'er repay  —  The debt of love I owe.  —  Here, Lord, I give myself away    —    'Tis all that I can do

I Will Sing The Wondrous Story

Psalm 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

The mercies of the Lord and His faithfulness are a wondrous story.

If you can’t sing it, tell how good the Lord has been to you.

I Will Sing the Wondrous Story

I will sing the wondrous story  — Of the Christ Who died for me;  —  How He left His home in glory    —   For the cross of Calvary.

CHORUS:

Yes, I’ll sing the wondrous story — Of the Christ Who died for me, — Sing it with the saints in glory,    —   Gathered by the crystal sea.

I was lost, but Jesus found me, — Found the sheep that went astray,  — Threw His loving arms around me, — Drew me back into His way.

Days of darkness still come o’er me, — Sorrow’s path I often tread, —  But His presence still is with me;    —   By His guiding hand I’m led.

He will keep me till the river  — Rolls its waters at my feet;  — Then He’ll bear me safely over,  — Where the loved ones I shall meet.

He Hideth My Soul

Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

It is amazing that there is a place that affords us quiet, peace and the profound presence of God.

It is a place of safety from our trials.

Those who have learned to abide in Him have been to that place and know the glory of it —  that place where all else falls away and you are left with Him and Him alone?

He Hideth MySoul

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, — A wonderful Savior to me; — He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,  —  Where rivers of pleasure I see.

CHORUS:

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,    —    That shadows a dry, thirsty land;  —  He hideth my life in the depths of His love,  —  And covers me there with His hand,    —   And covers me there with His hand.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, — He taketh my burden away, —  He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved,    —    He giveth me strength as my day.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,  —  And filled with His fullness divine, — I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God! — For such a Redeemer as mine.

\When clothed with His brightness transported I rise  —  To meet Him in clouds of the sky, — His perfect salvation, His wonderful love, — I’ll shout with the millions on high.

Joy Unspeakable

1 Peter 1:8  That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

[8] Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Just like the shepherd in Psa. 23, The Lord ever abides with his own.

When we face trials, He goes through them with us.

He will never leave us nor forsake us - Heb. 13:5;

His grace is always sufficient for every need - 2 Cor. 12:9.

This ought to cause us to be filled with joy unspeakable full of glory.

Joy Unspeakable.

I have found His grace is all complete,    —    He supplieth every need;    —  While I sit and learn at Jesus’ feet,  —  I am free, yes, free indeed.

CHORUS:

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,  —  Full of glory, full of glory; — It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,    —    Oh, the half has never yet been told.

I have found the pleasure I once craved,    —    It is joy and peace within;    —  What a wondrous blessing, I am saved  —  From the awful gulf of sin.

I have found that hope so bright and clear,    —    Living in the realm of grace;    —    Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near,    —    I can see His smiling face.

I have found the joy no tongue can tell,   —   How its waves of glory roll;    —  It is like a great o’erflowing well,  —  Springing up within my soul.

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Jesus takes care of the flowers and the birds, and He will take care of us.

But the important thing is to put Him first in our lives.

As someone has said, “Today is the tomorrow that we worried.”

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

I don’t know about tomorrow;  —  I just live from day to day.  —  I don’t borrow from its sunshine  —  For its skies may turn to grey.  —    I don’t worry o’er the future,    —    For I know what Jesus said.    —    And today I’ll walk beside Him,    —    For He knows what lies ahead.

CHORUS:

Many things about tomorrow   —   I don’t seem to understand,  —  But I know who holds tomorrow  —  And I know who holds my hand.

Every step is getting brighter  —  As the golden stairs I climb;  —  Every burden’s getting lighter,   —  Every cloud is silver-lined.  —  There the sun is always shining,  —  There no tear will dim the eye;   —   At the ending of the rainbow  —  Where the mountains touch the sky.

I don’t know about tomorrow;  —  It may bring me poverty.  —  But the one who feeds the sparrow,  —  Is the one who stands by me. —  And the path that be my portion  —  May be through the flame or flood; — But His presence goes before me  —  And I’m covered with His blood.

God Can Do Anything But Fail

Ephesians 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

When we yield to Jesus, His power transcends our weakness and enables us to accomplish great things for His glory.

Thank God, there are no limits to His power!

He can move mountains, change lives, lift burdens, meet needs, and He can change the lives of substandard saints and transform them into vessels of honor for His glory.

God can do Anything.   —   Anything, Anything,   —   God can do anything but fail.
