Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Mama used to win the prize on Mother’s Day at church for having the most children. With my three little ones, I found it a challenge to do everything right, to keep them safe and clean and healthy.
One day I asked her how she managed with so many of us. She told me that at one time she had five young ones under school age (my brother and I were twins), and occasionally she went outside and stood on the porch --- just a little while. I’m sure the Lord stood there with her. She was a virtuous woman, a godly woman who took us to church to learn about Jesus.
To the young mother, remember that you are human. No one expects perfection from you. You are allowed to make mistakes no matter how much your love your children.
To those not blessed with the children they wanted --- a prayer to get you through the day.
NORMA DAVIS ---- There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus . . . Romans 8:1

Peace And Calm
Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
When Jesus calmed the sea, the disciples were amazed and said, “What manner of man is this?” They learned that He’s the One Who is in control of every puff of wind, every angry wave and every storm. He’s a good man to know. He can corral the waves; lasso the winds and hog tie the storm.
When the storm is raging ---- when your boat is rocking and reeling and the waves are crashing against your vessel ---- Jesus won’t let you sink. He will give you peace.
Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

The Prayer Path
Psalm 143:7-8 Hear me speedily, O Lord : my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
David was a warrior and often hid in caves from his enemies who wanted to kill him for his kingdom. That's why he prayed a lot. He prayed about everything. We are commanded to pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. God has promised to hear our prayers.
The path of prayer is sometimes paved with waiting for answers, but our duty is to pray. Pray when God says, “Yes”. Pray when God says, “No, I have a better way.” Pray when God says, “Wait."
Prayer is more than a religious activity --- it’s a path out of the valley. It’s a path of praise. Every person who walks through the valley would do well to adopt an attitude of prayer and praise.
George Washington at Valley Forge in 1776 didn't stop praying. Often he could be seen kneeling in the snow seeking the God of Heaven for His sovereign help and power. He kept praying. Never stop praying. God hears and answers prayers.

The Trial Of Your Faith
1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Sometimes trials came along and jerk the rug out from under us, but it never takes God by surprise. He knew about it before it happened and had already made a way to bring you out.
Peter speaks of the refining process that gold goes through. When put to the flame, the impurities and dross in the gold come to the top, resulting in a far purer gold.
Jesus allows us to go through the fire to remove from our lives things that are not needed, to give us a closer and purer relationship with Him. He Is always with us. He never leaves us nor forsake us.
We may not understand it until we stand before the Lord in Heaven and are rewarded for our walk with Him and for the sufferings we endured.

Embrace Grace
Ephesians 2:3-5 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. . . . [4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Think back and remember that day when as a lost sinner you were brought by the Spirit of God into the presence of God. Do you remember how He spoke peace to your soul that day? Do you remember how you came with nothing and left with everything?
What a great, wonderful, matchless, glorious Savior we have! When His grace is embraced, everything changes. No wonder it’s called amazing!
If you can’t remember a time when you embraced grace, you need to come to Jesus today and make a memory. Believe that He is the Son of God who died for your sins. Ask Him to forgive your sins.
He will save your soul, adopt you in to His family, change your life, and your eternal destiny.

Alone With God
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
If Jesus thought it was necessary to be alone with the Father, how much more do you and I need those times of meditative solitude?
It’s virtually impossible to center the thoughts on the Lord unless we are willing to fill our minds with His thoughts on a regular basis. David hit the nail on the head when he described the desire he possessed in his heart to be near the Lord,
Psalm 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Simply Trust
Matthew 14:28-29 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
We are often critical of Peter for starting to sink after a few steps, but in reality he was the only one who had enough courage to step out of the boat. He realized it was safer on the water with Jesus than it was in the boat without Him.
We can’t comprehend the faith it took to step out of the safety of the boat and attempt to walk on the water in the midst of a raging storm.
Storms of life will test our faith. In fact, there will be times when faith is all we have. We will find ourselves in situations where we can’t see the shore and we can’t understand how the situation will work out. It’s those times we simply trust the Lord.
