I’d Rather Have Jesus

The Apostle Paul suffered the loss of all things for Jesus Christ.

Philippians 3:8-9 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, [

9] And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

He says he flushes his religion down the drain, flushes away all the things he used to trust.

Now he trusts the Lord Jesus and Him only for his salvation.

I’d Rather Have Jesus

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold;  —  I'd rather be His than have riches untold; —  I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands.    —   I'd rather be led by His nail pierced hand.

Chorus:

Than to be the king of a vast domain     —   Or be held in sin's dread sway. — I'd rather have Jesus than anything  — This world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause;  —  I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause; — I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame.  —  I'd rather be true to His holy name.

He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;  —  He's sweeter than honey from out of the comb; — He's all that my hungering spirit needs. —   I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

To God Be The Glory

Galatians 1:3-5  Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

[4] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

[5] To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

There is nothing that we can add to the value of Christ’s sacrifice for our sins. Nothing! He gave Himself.  I’m so thankful.

Thousands of folks who have turned to Christ have been delivered from drugs, from alcohol, and from sex sins.

Christ alone can deliver in cases like that.

To God be the glory, great things He hath done,    —    So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,    —    Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,    —    And opened the life gate that all may go in.

CHORUS:

Praise the Lord! — Praise the Lord! — Let the earth hear His voice! —     Praise the Lord! — Praise the Lord! — Let the people rejoice!  —  Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, —  And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,  —  To every believer the promise of God;  — The vilest offender who truly believes, — That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, —  And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; — But purer, and higher, and greater will be — Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

The Glory Land Way

1 Peter 1:7-8 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

[8] Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Peter says that our trials are going to bring out the gold when we appear in Christ’s presence, a wonderful time to look forward.

Loving Christ brings rejoicing to your heart. Are you a rejoicing Christian?

Are you in the Glory Land way?

I’m in the way, the bright and shining way,    —    I’m in the glory-land way;    —    Telling the world that Jesus saves today,    —    Yes, I’m in the glory-land way.

CHORUS:

I’m in the glory-land way;  —  I’m in the glory-land way;  —  Heaven is nearer, and the way groweth clearer,  —  For I’m in the glory-land way.

List to the call, the gospel call today,  —  Get in the glory-land way;  —    Wand’rers, come home, oh, hasten to obey,    —    And get in the glory-land way.

Onward I go, rejoicing in His love. — I’m in the glory-land way; — Soon I shall see Him in that home above, —  O I’m in the glory-land way.

Come And Dine

Peter and some of the other disciples fished all night and caught nothing. Then Jesus, after His resurrection, appeared on shore and told them to cast their net on the right side of the ship.

John 21:11-12 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

[12] Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

Jesus had a fire prepared with fish already cooking.

They found all they needed after being out on that ship all night — food, warmth and fellowship with the risen Savior.

Come And Dine

Jesus has a table spread  —  Where the saints of God are fed, —  He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine”;   —    With His manna He doth feed — And supplies our every need: — Oh, ’tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!

CHORUS:

“Come and dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine”;   —    You may feast at Jesus’ table all the time;   —    He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,   —    To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.”

The disciples came to land, — Thus obeying Christ’s command, —  For the Master called unto them, “Come and dine”; — There they found their heart’s desire,   —    Bread and fish upon the fire;  —  Thus He satisfies the hungry every time.

Soon the Lamb will take His bride —  To be ever at His side, —  All the host of heaven will assembled be; — Oh, ’twill be a glorious sight, — All the saints in spotless white; — And with Jesus they will feast eternally.

Mansion Over The Hill Top

John 14:2, 3  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

A “mansion” in the “Father’s house” speaks of opulence and grandeur that nothing in this world can compare to.

I'm satisfied with just a cottage below,  —  A little silver and a little gold.    —    But in that city where the ransomed will shine,  —  I want a gold one thats silver lined.

Chorus
I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And someday yonder, we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are pure as gold.

Though often tempted, tormented, and tested, — And like the prophet, my pillows a stone. — And though I find here no permanent dwelling, — I know He'll give me a mansion my own.

Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely.   —    I'm not discouraged I'm heaven bound.   —    'm but a pilgrim in search of the city.    —    I want a mansion, a harp, and a crown.

Blessed Assurance

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

How wonderful it is that we can come near to God in the full assurance of faith — just simply believing.

We can know that Jesus is our’s and that our believing faith is assurance of Heaven.

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!    —   Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!    —   Heir of salvation, purchase of God,    —   Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

CHORUS:

This is my story, this is my song,    —   Praising my Savior all the day long;    —   This is my story, this is my song,    —   Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,  —   Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;  —   Angels, descending, bring from above    —   Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,    —   I in my Savior am happy and blest,    —   Watching and waiting, looking above,    —   Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Take The Name of Jesus With You

Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

No matter what comes our way, claim the name of Jesus. Therein is power to stand.

Take The Name of Jesus With You

______________________________

Take the name of Jesus with you, — Child of sorrow and of woe. —  It will joy and comfort give you,  —  Take it then wherever you go.

CHORUS:

Precious name, O how sweet!  — Hope of earth and joy of Heaven. —  Precious name, O how sweet!  — Hope of earth and joy of Heaven.

Take the name of Jesus ever  —  As a shield from every snare;  —  If temptations ‘round you gather,  —  Breathe His holy name in prayer.

At the name of Jesus bowing, — Falling prostrate at His feet; — King of kings in Heaven we’ll crown Him  — When our journey is complete.
