Standing On The Promises

I take promises personally, especially between me and Almighty God. I need to know what He can do for me.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

His presence has the power to drive away fear – 2 Tim.1:7. In the scary twists and turns of my life, I have never walked alone. The Lord was there all the time.

That’s awesome! He is God! He can do anything — yet He’s walking along with me, giving me strength, helping me every day, solving my problems, and holding my hand.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

If God is our God and He is an able God, why do we fear, fret or faint? He is on the throne.  His mighty deeds have not changed.

We need to remember who He is. We need to claim His promises.

An old man who was dying couldn’t remember God’s promises but was reminded that God never forgets.

Are You There?

Are You There? Where is there?” For Noah, “there” was an Ark. For Daniel, “there” was a prayer room that led to a lion’s den. For Jesus, “there” was a cruel cross.

There” is that place in your life that finds you where God has placed you, the place of His perfect will. When you get “there” you will know it. When you aren’t “there” you will know it.

“There” is the providence of God working out His plan for His born’again Children.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

Those who find their “there” understand they are serving a God who is not bound by the limits of time and space.

Have you reached that place where you can honestly say, “I am in the will of God?” If you are, stay there and grow in faith to be more like Jesus.

If you’ve never arrived “there” and you feel you are missing out on God’s best, ask Him to show you His will for your life. When He shows you, get “there” and stay “there”.

In The Secret Place

David knew that in his life the only safe place in the world was a place close to God, a place where he could see God, speak to God and worship God. A secret place.
Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

When a believer abides in that precious place he or she has blessed assurances that the rest of the world knows nothing about.

In these days we need that kind of assurance as we fight the battles of life with the world. Even when life is at it’s best, we are still in the midst of perilous times, 2 Tim. 3:1

It may seem like life is out of control, and it is out of our control, but it is never out of God’s control. In the end we will end up exactly where we are supposed to be.

Those who abide in the secret place enjoy God's best.  We are precious to Him.

John 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Worshipping In Song

When the Apostle Paul describes the Spirit-filled life, he begins with the way we worship God.
Ephesians 5:18-20  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Music that produces worship rises from a heart that is overwhelmed with love for the Lord. As He strums the heart strings, worship and praise are the result.

Time and again the Lord has given me an uplifting song in the darkest hour. Occasionally I play a song on my IPhone that relates to my lesson for the Ladies Sunday School Class. If you ride in my car you will hear gospel music. These songs draw me close to Jesus.

I listened to an old song in the car this morning. We sang it at church when I was a child. What a blessing! I couldn’t find the name of the author.

“The windows of heaven are open. The blessings are falling tonight.
There's joy, joy, joy in my heart For Jesus made everything right.
I gave Him my old tattered garment. He gave me a robe of pure white
I'm feasting on manna from heaven. And that's why I'm happy tonight.”

Bring It To Jesus

Joseph stands falsely accused, wrongfully imprisoned, and now he is forgotten by the released prisoner who promised two years ago to speak to Pharaoh about his discharge.

He can’t see it, but the wheels of providence are slowly turning. Soon the plans and purpose of God will become crystal clear.
Psalm 121:1,3  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help., , ,  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

When the time came Joseph was released and not a minute before.

The same is true in your life and mine. Some are looking at disappointment and discouragement, and they don’t know how to handle them.

The best thing anyone can do is to bring it to Jesus and learn to leave it in His capable hands. Ask Him for the joy and grace you need to survive and thrive in the prisons of life.

There is help for you in the Lord. You might feel forgotten, but I hope you know that you will never be forsaken by the Lord.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

My Cup Runneth Over

David tells us that the Lord's blessings are so great that his cup passed full and ran over.
Psalm 23:5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Have there been times when the presence of God and the reality of His glory were almost more than you could bear? Those are the real blessings of the Lord.

Thank God for the times when He fills our cups.

God wants to bless our lives beyond our wildest dreams. The best you can do is to bring yourself to Jesus and say, "Lord. Fill my cup!

If you do, and do so with an honest, hungry heart; He will fill your life to overflowing and beyond. He is looking for people who are willing and who want all He has to give them.  Is that person you?

Jesus Is Coming

As Paul writes to the Thessalonian believers, he offers hope to a people who thought all hope was gone.
Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We have that same hope. It’s unshakable and profound. It’s eternal and powerful. It gives joy, peace and blessing to our hearts.

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. It may bring death, disease and disaster. It may bring sorrow, pain and hardship. It may bring blessing, joy and happiness—but I know Jesus is coming and that’s comforting.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
